Publix Weekly Ad 8/12-8/18

Posted on Aug 12 2009 | By Jenny · Comments View Comments

These deals start 8/12 or 8/13 at Publix. It is not a great week to me, but I hope some of you can get excited. Don’t forget to check the Green and Yellow Advantage Buy lists before shopping.

Remember:
1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon too)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are.50¢ or less

** #1 and #5 do not apply in FL and coastal GA**

  • Tarrah R.
I cannot find it anywhere that Snapple is BOGO this week-could it be an unadvertised BOGO?
  • Tarrah R.
Julia- It is in the Publix Yellow Advantage Buy magazine you get when you fist enter the store (usually) or ask Customer Service. BTW- Your BEST deal is to get 6, use two coupons, and pnly end up paying for ONE!!! I just don't know if they are indeed BOGO this week- If not, mabe they will be soon. THat would be your best deal.
    HTH
Just read Tausha's posts- LOL Realized that too! Yeah- justification for no dbl coupons AND no penny item! ;-) Thank you!
  • Tausha
    *****DEAL ALERT*****

see #133 & #134....sorry, should have done that. 4 kids under 5 at lunch hour will do that to you. Have a great day everyone!
  • Tausha
btw - Florida Blue Bell lovers - Winn Dixie has Blue Bell bogo this week for $6.79 so with the $1 coupons it is only $2.39 each! Making room in the deep freeze now...bye!!
  • Tausha
Tarrah #129 - actually, in Florida: if you have 2 b2g1 coups, you could get 6 for one:
    Buy 6
3 of those FREE courtesy of Publix
2 more free if you use 2 coupons
6 for $4.99!! Take that penny states! (It's my only justification to not be jealous that we don't get penny items or double coupons ;o)
  • amanda
the coupon for the crystal spings water in my Publix says $1.00 off one 24 pk. not off of 2. that makes it $2.99 for 24 pk.!!!!!!!
  • julia
    tarrah r.
do you know where to find the bogo snapple coupon?
  • Miranda
Havent noticed this posted anywhere yet. Bags of Lifesavers candies are on sale for $1. Inside every bag is a $1 off coupon. I have gotten over 20 bags for the cost of that first bag.
  • Tarrah R.
Thank you Sebatians Mommy for the Deal Alert (And especially for putting ***DEAL ALERT** At top!).

Julia, for us in FL-that WOULD make it 4 packs for $4.99! WOOHOO!
  • Misty
Publix gave me a hard time about the Purina coupon today (the sale price was $2.75 after B1G1 and the coupon was $3.50). The cashier and head cashier agreed that they would have to adujust the coupon to $2.75 since it exceeded the purchase price of the dog food. After I questioned why Publix should make $ .75 from Purina, the manager told the cashiers to give me the full coupon value and agreed that this was policy. Stand your ground so that the cashiers know the policies.
  • Pamela
Thank you so much for the info on the Purina coupon. I cant tell you how many times I tried it and stopped at the screen that says you got your coupon and pick your shelter.

Good week to figure it out too.
  • julia
Publix is the only grocery store around us so even if their policy changes we will still have to go there or drive out of our way and bring a cooler for the cold stuff.
  • Laura
The lifesavers are 10 for $10.00 then inside each package is a $1.00 off coupon that you can use when you check out (you just need to get it out first). That makes them free or what ever the tax is.

Open from the bottom it makes it eaiser to get the coupon out.
  • Jen S
The Publix on Haynes Bridge Rd. in Alpharetta has A-1 steak sauce BOGO as an in-store special. Loving that we got more $2 A-1 q's yesterday AND I still have $2 off beef wyb A-1 q's left! They also had Commit lozenges on clearance for $10 (cappuccino flavor, 2 mg) which are FREE after the $10 coupon! These are normally $30-$40 everywhere else (love, love, love Publix!)
  • Shelley
Ugh, the Publix closest to me will no longer take Target coupons either. Major bummer! I have to say with all these new rules they are passing down I am losing my patience with Publix.
  • Kim
If Publix is starting to limit the B1G1 Free items you can buy, then they will need to remove the big STOCK UP advertisement on the front of their ads each week! :) They have been for months encouraging their customers to take advantage of their BOGO deals to stock up when prices are low in this economy "to help us out." If we all begin hearing this new corporate policy, then we all need to remind them in email to corporate that they are contradicting themselves in the same breath. :) I'm noticing today's ad does not have this splashed across it as it has been this summer. Does anyone have a copy of an older ad with this on it?
  • Sebastian's Mommy
    Reply to julia #113-

No, The B1G1 deal is really 1 for $2.50 and 1 for $2.49 in Publix's eyes. I used my Buy 2 Get 1 Free coupon so I paid $4.99 for 3 cases.
  • Melissa
The Publix in Easley, SC will no longer accept Food Lion coupons as a competitor. They are for me since Food Lion in closer to me, but there is not one in Easley. Oh well.
  • Heather J.
Hi! I love this website - you do such a fantastic job!! Anyway, I was at Whole Foods over the weekend and they have a flyer with coupons. On the coupons it says they are only redeemable at Whole Foods. Can this be true? From what I understand, most coupons are from the manufacturer not from the store.
  • Crystal
Great experience with publix on 77 again! Not only will they accept competitors coupons, but will stack with publix coupon and manf. Huggies big box of diapers now 19.99, minus 3 dollar publix coupon, 1.5 food lion, and -3 manf. coup. Also was able to use 3 ECB left over from CVS due to expire, and a 5 off of 25!
  • Rebecca Cobb
I just heard about this site and learned that Publix takes competitor coupons (and have shared both with the ladies at work!). I was very excited to use my CVS coupon of $5 off an order of $25 or more. This site will work wonders with my grocery budget. Thanks bunches!
  • Keisha
Just FYI -- in the Woodstock, GA, area the Publix does not honor Food Lion coupons any longer. :(
  • Jenn

There is a Target IP Q for 1.00/1.
Combine the 1.00/2 MQ with the Target IP (1.00 off any GM Cereal), makes the cereal .65 each !!!
  • Julie
Hey!!! Love this site, your awesome!!! Had some trouble at my local Publix today! Im in Hiram, Ga. and the cashier told me that they now only accept Kroger coupons as competetor coupons. She said that is is up to each stores' manager but that they would take them "this time" because half of my order included Target and Food Lion coupons! Im soooo upset, because Target is about 2 miles from the Publix and they dont consider it a competator anymore!
  • julia
Wouldn't that make them 4 for 4.99 since they are buy one get one free (that is 2 free if you but 4)and then use the buy 2 get 1 free coupon (that is another one for free!) so 4 for 4.99
  • Sebastian's Mommy
    ***Deal Alert***

My publix in Camp Creek, GA had the Snapple 6 packs B1G1. In the yellow Grilling Favorites coupon book was a Buy 2 Get 1 Free coupon which made them 3 for $4.99. Any Snapple lovers out there knows that is a steal!
  • Amy
    Jenny,
Have you ever looked at Alice.com? What do you think of the couponing on that website? I saw it on Clark Howard. I love Publix but am intrigued by the Alice shopping site.
  • Shannon in ATL
The Toss for Cash was up front by customer service at my store...had GA Bulldog stuff all over it, I still took it even though hubbie is GT Grad....Go Jackets!!

    Sorry...couldn't help myself....it's almost football season! ;)
  • Holly
    Hey Stacey in post #77
My email is hwaldrop@gmail.com, I have lived by Jenny's website for over 6 months now and have saved so much money. It took a while for me to get the hang. I have a email that breaks all this down that I mail out to my friends when they want to figure out how to save so much. Shoot me a email and I will email it out to you. Jenny is wonderful to do this for us, and I know she saves alot of people out there alot money.
  • becca
#102 I guess you can just do multiple transactions, or bring those teens along and they can have an order, you can have and order so on and get the amount you need with different transactions and different customers! At least they will help you that that cereal they love!!!!! =)
  • ckeegan
Our Publix just put signs up all over the store that said they would no longer accept coupons from "non-traditional" competitors, which they defined as stores like Target, etc. The problem is the fact that they have also stopped accepting Food Lion coupons, even though there's a Food Lion only 6 miles from the Publix store. I consider 6 miles to be a competitor, and not being able to use the FL printables stinks.
  • Colleen
    Julia #80
NO, the Ronzoni Smart taste are not B1G1 but they are 2/$3 so with the $1/2 printable they are $1 ea which is not a bad price for that kind ( I thought?) Barilla plus (comparable kind) is $2.19 regular price. The Healthy harvest isn't on sale at all.
  • CouponNERD
    Tamra -
Where/when did you get the Toss 4 Cash coupon book?
    I have some $1 off 3 Lender's bagels q's from a store dispenser.
  • Tamra
The Toss 4 Cash coupon booklet from Publix has a store coupon for 0.75 off Lenders bagels. This would make them 0.25 each. Awesome deal, my mother and brothers will be happy about this one.
  • julia
No Pam I have never heard of that...
On many visits in the past I have gotten 5-7 deals of each item and never had a problem.
  • Pam
I too had a bad experience at my local Publix today. They have always been coupon friendly, but today they informed me that, going forward, I could only buy 2 of the B1G1 free deals (i.e. only 4 boxes of cereal). The manager actually came over to speak with me and told me the would honor today's transaction, but in the future they had to abide by the new corporate policy.

Has anyone else heard of this new corporate policy? With 5 teenagers in the house, I can go through 5 boxes of cereal a week! :(
  • There is also a .50/1 q on the glass plus bottles!
  • Phyllis
    Jenny,
The Publix in Decatur, Al did not have Blue Bell ice cream on sale this week; could that be next week maybe or was it another brand? I printed a coupon and got there and it was over six dollars, not 3.99.
  • Beth in ATL
I got an additional coupon off of my box of Huggies for an additional 3 dollars off. WooHoo!!
  • Crystal
Hey, thanks so much for all the work, this site has changed forever the way I buy. *For anyone living in Panama City, Fl I just found out yesterday the publix on 77 takes walgreens and cvs coupons as well as target, food lion, and harveys.*
  • Betsy
    Debra,
You should be able to use at least 1 store coupon (either Publix or Food Lion in this situation) and 1 manufacturer coupon. Some Publix stores will allow you to use all 3: store, manufacturer, and competitor. Mine will not. You just need to ask someone at customer service what their policy is. In this situation, I am going to use 1 of the Publix $3 off and a manufacturer $3 off for the Huggies Diapers. Still a pretty good deal! Hope that helps!
  • Debra
    Hi, again
I just posted a question and I have another question on the Huggies diapers, Can I use publix 3.00 coupon, 3.00 manufacturers coupon and a competitors such as Food Lion for 1.50 off the sale?

    Thanks again
  • Debra
I have a question about the Huggies diapers. Does anyone know what the price is on the big box of Huggies diapers and also can I use there 3.00 coupon from there flyer and a 3.00 manufactures coupon on this deal?

    Thank you
  • kristina
I was looking to see if anyone out there had a extra coupon for the schick quattro razor/trimmer that is on sale this week. It is 4.00 off and is from ss7/26 or august all you. If so my email is beanieluver76@yahoo.com also there is 1.00 off coupons for bluebell ice cream on their website hth would make it 2.99
  • Gayle #19..the stores here in Tallahassee take them; each store is different. Give it a try.
  • Brittany #83; I'm in Tallahassee and use 2 cpns on BOGO all the time; the managers will tell you that you can use 2 cpns on BOGO. My corportae office is Lakeland and I usually either call them or call the local store and ask for the District manager which usually resides at one of the local stores.
  • Sorry if this is a repeat; lifesavers are 10/$10.00 and inside each bag is a $1.00 which makes them FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  • Michelle
Thanks, Mina. I did call corporate this afternoon. They took my name and number and said the district manager will call me.
  • Mina
Michelle #84. Yes, you are correct. The explanation you gave the cashier was right on target. I'd say that encounter earned a friendly call or letter to corporate. They will have the district manager contact you. Just stay friendly and reasonable, and it should get straightened out. Good luck!

I had a horrible experience at my local Publix today (Thompson Bridge Rd. in Gainesville, GA). I bought a few of several different items, and I had a coupon for each item. (For example, I had two Glass Plus, four napkins, four paper plates, etc.) The young cashier studied my coupons and told me that she shouldn't take more than one per item because the coupons say, "Limit one per purchase." I told her that it meant one per item purchased. She said she had just gotten in trouble for taking more than one of the same coupon in a transaction (for multiple items). She called someone from customer service over to ask about it. That lady didn't know, so she called the unfriendly head of customer service over. That woman said they could only take one per purchase. I said that means one per item, right? She said, "No, it means one per purchase....one per transaction." I had the cashier take off all but one of each of my items and told her that I would go to the other Publix in town. That store is much more coupon friendly, but it is much further out of my way.

Am I correct that we can purchase more than one of the same item and use a separate coupon for each item? I've never had problems with this before. Have any of you had this experience? Is this a new corporate policy?

    Thanks!!

Does anyone know of a Publix store in the Mableton/Smyrna area that will accept accept competitor coupons? The Publix on Floyd Road will only accpet Kroger Manf. coupons.

    Stacey #77,
If you go up to the top of the page Jenny has a section called "getting started" then there is a section labeled FAQ... you can find a few of your answers there.

This is a great site and Jenny and the other girls here do a great job.

With this site you will be able to cut that amount at least in half IF not more.

    good luck.

Post #45...At my Publix the Lender's Bagel's are in the Frozen section. I just lucked into them today because they were out in the center with other frozen sale items, so I'm not sure where they are normally in the frozen foods.

Where do you find the $0.50 coupon?
    thanks

Food Lion Huggies coupons doubles to make the wipes free (or $0.04 - it was free for me!) - fabulous!
Also - are print limits based on computers? I printed my two Purina coupons before realizing I was out of ink (doh!), but I'm hoping that I can plug my husband's laptop in to reprint. Crossing my fingers.
Thanks for doing all the leg work for us!
  • Heather
A possible answer to those having prob's with the PURINA coupon:
I've tried before and it just takes you to the "got your coupon, now pick a shelter" page (which SOUNDS like it did not download and now it is moving on to another page...) well, tonight, after trying a few times, I just went ahead and picked a shelter, then it has you type in your personal info and VOILA! your coupon prints...after all the other info is filled out. Wished I knew that before trying so many times. Oh well...challenges are great at midnight! :0)
  • I went to Publix on S Cobb Pkwy and saw a limit of 2 on bogo deals.

I found a great deal on powerade. there is a buy 10 get 5 coupon on the bottles, use this with (5) .75/2 coupons found in-store for 15 bottles @ .33 each. Even better if used at Kroger-.27 each bottle!

Since this is a slow week, I am waiting until sunday for the penny item. Also i got $1/2 pepsi 12 pack coupons...hopefully a great deal will come alone.

  • Jill
Today my husband went shopping with all the coupons and it allowed the overage.
  • Karen
Someone told me that Publix here in the Charleston area will not allow overage anymore. Did anyone find that to be the case with the dog food? I plan to get my friend some free dog food this week and hope I can still get overage to take off elsewhere.
  • Melanie
Hi there, I am relatively new to this and I am trying to print off the Huggies coupons from the coupons.com site. I am able to select the coupons that I want but when I try to print it shoes that it is sending to the printer but nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  • Robin
Ok. I haven't tried to use my Purina coupons yet, but my friend went today to Publix in Ooltewah, and the cashier told her she couldn't use the coupon since it was over the sale price of the item...that's not right is it? She finally took the coupon but only after my friend bought TWO bags making them 75 cents each! Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem. Thanks!
  • Erin
EVERYONE- Keep animal shelters in mind with this purina coupon. most stores have a drop box on the way out of the store! if you either don't have an animal or like me has a dog that can only eat a particular food I urge you to think about the little guys in the shelters. take the time and ink print it grab it and drop it in you will feel great about it!
  • Sebastian's Mommy
    MG-

The Little Lenders bagels at my publix are usually in the bread isle. Look on the bottom shelf...that's where they keep them at my store.
  • Lani
Looks like Stonyfield took their Amy's and their Annie's coupons off! Bummer- I was hoping to stack the Whole Foods Annie's coupons w/ a stonyfield one for free mac-n-cheeses!

BTW- my Publix is no longer taking Target coupons (OH but they WILL take super-walmart- what gives?). This after I've been using them forever and had a bunch of stuff in my cart (I'm a wuss and still bought it). Though the manager said she will have to look the discrepency over. She brought me a printed list of competitors- not to keep, though, sorry!
