CVS is starting a new program to help us all remember to use reuseable bags.  The next time you are in CVS look for the card above and buy a “Bag Tag” for .99 cents.

Take this and put it on your favorite reusable bag and every time you check out scan your extracare card and your bag tag.  After you scan your bag tag 4 times you will get $1 ECB!!  Every forth trip,  you will make $1!!

You can only get one credit per day, so those doing multiple transactions in the same day only get it counted once.

This could make a great filler item, so don’t plan to actually spend US currency to get it, but use CVS currency.

(thanks Couponing to Disney!)

I was told by a cashier that I had to buy a CVS reusable bag for $8 in order to even purchase the bag tag. She said they weren't supposed to ring it up without that specific bag. Was she just crazy??
  • Nick
Not sure why but my bag tag rang up as free today. Which made the trip worth it since everything I wanted was gone with the exceptions of a few candy items.
  • Jennifer
Are the bag tags good with different cards? My husband and I both have a cvs card and I don't know if I need two bag tags or if I can use one with both cards.
  • Susan
No--they are not attached to a specific card.
  • carol
Does anyone know where to get the "green bag tag" in the Columbia or Lexington, SC area? thanks
  • Jennifer
I couldn't find the bag tags at my cvs, so I asked the cashier and she had to ask the manager, they ended up being behind the checkout counter.
  • Jennifer
where are the bag tags located?
  • At my CVS, the tags are on display on the hangers right at the registers.

Heads up! The link to the flu quiz on cvs.com no longer offers the $5/$25 coupon, however a direct link to the minute clinic quiz still works.
  • kelli
which link still works? I need to get a coupon for next week!
  • kelli
nevermind, I figured it out. :) For anyone else that needs it, here it is:

I Got a CVS bag weeks ago to be a filler and it had a Q for a doller in it the cashier let me use it right then. I wonder if the tags still have a Q on the inside to be used for the promotion. NICE if you do not have one.

Where is the best place to get reusable shopping bags?
  • kelli
most of mine are from target
  • Shelly
At CVS this morning, they had several cute green bags that were 99 cent and had a 50 cent off coupon on the front of them. So for only 50 cent, not bad.
  • Stacey
Keep checking Publix as they always have some coupon/promotion for earning a free bag with purchases.
  • Damien
Yeah, I got two last week from Publix for free after buying two general mills products (4 total... 2 per bag).
  • CJ
I got the free neosporin at Publix...there is an online coupon for neosporin and then in the green publix flyer it is b1G1 free. You NEED both coupons (really you will have 3 coupons) it made it 1.50 overage (I believe).
  • Val
I thought the Publix Coupon said it was a MC, so how can you use 3 MC on 2 products?
  • Jenna
at publix neosporin lips is bogo where are you located?
  • Ashley in FL
The q in the Publix flyer is a MC. Thus, it can be used anywhere.

I reuse my plastic bags until my babies are out of diapers. The diaper genie refills cost too much and stink if you don't empty them everyday. So i wrap the diapers in the bags and put them out. I also use them for library books and i also keep leftover craft items in them hanging from clothes hangers in my craft closet. Free garbage bags for my bathrooms.
  • Damien
I have a huge drawyer in our kitchen where I keep plastic bags and we have been using plastic bags lately for every bit of trash except once in a while when I actually bother to put a trash bag in our trash can and we still have too many plastic bags to fit in the drawyer, so I often wind up tossing bags out because I have nowhere to put them. I have 2 medium reusuable bags and 1 large reusable bag, but I always forget to bring them in :(... I need to do better because although we reuse plastic bags, we have way too many to ever get used.
  • NANCY
I do the say thing with plastic. In fact at work we throw plastic bags away all the time unused. so i will save them and reuse. Love the CVS Idea to help me remember my bag.
  • kelli
are these tags going to be everywhere? none of the stores in my area (swva) give anything for using reusable bags.
  • Katie
I went to my CVS this morning and they do not have the tags in yet, nor did they have any of the Neosporin lip care in either.
  • Migs
How is the Neosporin Lip free? Thanks!
  • Beth
I think what they're talking about is there is a clip-free coupon for $2.50 off at CVS, and then the printable $3 off on top of that makes it free!
  • Katie
Here is the link that I found:

Having a hard time getting it to print, though. Good luck!! :-)
  • Ashley in FL
This is great!! Does it have to be a CVS bag, or can it be from another store? Publix just put out some cute pumpkin ones yesterday.
  • Rachel
I got the tag yesterday and YES, you can use ANY bag! It says so on the tag and the card it is attached to. My cashier rang it up and scanned it for credit on the non-CVS bag I used. YAY CVS!!
  • Jenn
My just turned 2yo dd found a "princess bag" at Publix last week, so we got it for free. Lots of cute designs out now!!
  • MW
My little girl also loves the princess bag - she loves all things glittery! We also picked up the Frankenstein bag - he was free and cute!
  • Stacey
    Ashley,
I zoomed in on the picture Jenny posted and it says "attach to any reusable bag" in the lower right corner. I would think any bag will do.
  • Ashley
Whenever I take my bags to Krogers they enter it in the system but I am not sure what reward I get for this.. Does anyone know?
  • Katie
They are giving you .05 cent credit towards gas rewards. I can't remember how many rewards it takes to get the actual credit on your gas...I remember the cashier saying it takes a lot. I'll have to ask when I shop there again.
  • Heather
Yes, .05c for every reusable bag that you actually use!
  • Lauren
I am so excited about this! I think it will help me remember to bring my CVS bag with me. I LOVE CVS!
  • Bre
LOVE THIS! Going today to get one!
  • ZJ
That's a nice deal. I wonder why they aren't advertising this on their site??
  • Thanks for postings on this. I still prefer to buy a healthier coffee then what they have on the shelves and my healthier coffee is less.
  • Sara
Bi-Lo also credits $0.05 per reusable bag! (at least at the Greer, SC store on Pelham)
  • Melissa
Columbia, SC Bi-lo credits .05 per bag as well
  • Tanya Franco
Our Super Target in Cumming, GA credits you $.05 for every re-usable bag you use!
  • Denise-GC
