Went to CVS today and had a good trip. My husband and I did seperate transactions because their Dawn was limited to 3 and I wanted to buy 5. He bought
    3 Dawn with Olay,
    2 3pks Ivory soap,
candy bar for filler (because my q's were more than the sale prices.) Used
    3 $1 off Dawn
    2 $! off Ivory
Total paid was $1.14. May not have needed the filler but wanted to avoid a possible problem.

    I bought:
    2 Olay Regenerist Cleansers @ 6.99 ea.
    2 Dawn with Olay @ .99
    2 Pantene @ 3.50
    Used
    2 $3 off Olay
    2 $1 off Dawn
    1 $3 off Pantene
    $10 ECB
    Paid $2.76 oop
    Got back $2 ECB
Will submit receipt for $15 rebate from Olay. Will make this a $4.24 moneymaker if they rebate me the full $15.

Makes a total of 3.10 profit plus all this mdse.

    GREAT TRIP!
  • Sue
Husband also used 3 $1 off Dawn coupons.
  • Jennifer
Does anybody know when the Greenville, SC stores are going to 75% off the Christmas stuff? I went today and they still have a TON of stuff but it is marked 50% off.
  • Lisa
Has anyone figured out how to get the Alli coupon?
  • I tried to do the South Beach Diet bars with coupons, but unfortunately, the coupon is for a box with 6 in it, and our CVS here only had boxes with 5 in them. The cashier wouldn't take it... so I just put the bars back. Still not a bad deal w/o the coupons if you like South Beach, but not good enough for me to buy 3 boxes for $5 just to try them.
  • Brooke
I noticed the Coke ECB deal appears that it can be done again on the bottom of my receipt. Does anyone know how many times it can actually be done, even though the paper says limit 1?
  • Amy
I've done the coke deal 3 times and ECB's printed each time. Not sure what the true limit is but I have some additional $1/2 Q's for 2 liter cokes that expire tomorrow so I'm going to try again to see if I can get the ECB a 4th time!
  • Jennifer
I live in upstate SC. Has anybody tried using the $5 Sacramento coupon here. I don't want to get to the register and them ask me where I got it....
  • Sherry M
I used it in Greenville without a problem. I didn't cut it out, I left it like it printed so they could see that it was a printable newspaper coupon, not a copy.
  • D
    yes, they work!
  • MJ
Got a deal at CVS today on Crest Toothpaste. Our CVS has a clearance section. I always go there first to see what is on clearance. Today, there were 5 tubes of Crest Toothpaste Extra Whitening 4.4oz, for .50 cents. I had 4 coupons, (2) .50 off and (2) 1.00 off coupons. There were 5 tubes of toothpaste. I knew there would be an issue with overage, so I picked up a candy bar, total that I had to pay was .18 cents. Not sure if every CVS has these on clearance, but if you are in your CVS, check their clearance isle.
  • Shanda
How do you get the free Venus with Pampers? I don't see that in my ad....
  • Lee
There is a $5 off $20 purchase that is printable on the sacremento bee website. Can I use two of these coupons, in seperate transacations with my CVS card or will it only let me use one coupon per card?
  • D
yes, I always use 1 each transaction but separate my transactions.
  • Lisa
I have a question, Can I use a 5/30 coupon and a 5/20 coupon in the same transaction at CVS? I am sure I have read this before but think it was done at Rite Aid...wasn't sure about CVS.
    Thanks!
  • D
    no

Deal Alert: I went to CVS today to get the B1G1 Revlon Creme Lipgloss..while there I noticed a lot of there makeup products were clearanced down 75%(Revlon and Rimmel-not sure about the others). I got two Rimmel and one Revlon for $4.18 total (after my $1.00 off Rimmel coupon). The $2 off coupon would not push through since the lipstick was $1.99. So if you want to go an even cheaper route look for the clearance(green sticker)!!!
    Here's the breakdown:

    Revlon Matte L Wine 1.99 saved 6.00
Riml SWT Jly Taste 1.57 saved 4.72
Riml Vnyl Lpg Delr 1.62 saved 4.87
-$1.00 off coupon for Rimmel (expiration 2/28/10)..this coupon came in the paper that had the $1.00 Nivea Body Wash coupon this month (sorry can't remember the exact date).
  • Cassie
I went to CVS last night with my hubby to get the cheap Pantene. While I was there I saw that not only was the regular Dawn dish soap .99, but the Dawn Hand Renewal with Olay dish soap was also .99. I used my $1 off any size coupon from the Home Made Simple booklet and got two for free! I was so excited! The ad just said Dawn .99, so I was glad to see that the Hand Renewal was included. Always fun to find free household necessities :)
  • Natalie
Thanks for the tip- I cashed in on this today!
  • Sandra
Can you use the 5.00 off of 30.00 coupon from the quiz more than once?
  • margie
Not unless you print another one from a different computer (and take the quiz again).
  • Linda
Has anyone found the $6 Q for Flex-a-Min Joint Care or the $4 Q for Osteo-Bi-Flex from RP 11/15? I get the paper by subscription and a friend gets it at the store; neither one of us can find these Qs. I thought Atlanta was the hub, so to speak, for all Qs!
  • Natalie
I found them in my tallahassee democrat
  • margie
I also dont have the $6 coupons for Flex-a min - Atlanta paper - I get the double pack of 2 papers for price of one, that has the Saturday and Sunday editions of the Sunday paper. jenny at one of your couponing workshops you said that Atlanta gets every coupon that SS or RP puts out, unlike some of the "regional" areas may not get everything. This is not the first time I have not been able to find a coupon you said was in a specific issue.

Anyone else missing it this week - from Atlanta? The highest price coupon for any vitamin type items I see in any issue since mid oct is for Ester - C for $5. What am I doing wrong, or where am I missing it.?

    thanks for any help.
  • sara
Just made a CVS trip. I am not very good at the whole CVS thing, so I try to keep it simple

    Starting with zero ECB's:

    (3) Dawn Dish liquid .99ea/used (3).25 man
    (4) 3 pks Ivory Soap .99ea/used (4)$1 man
    (2) Thermacare wraps $13.98/used (2)$3 man
    (4) Herbal Essence Shampoo/Conditioner $2.88ea/used (4)$1 man

used $5 off $30 quiz coupon

    Total OOP: $15.00
    Got $4 ECB for Thermacare

I am saving my ECB's to use with my Sonicare raincheck this week!
  • D

For anyone who bought the Glade deal (I believe it was spend 12 dollars on Glade Products, get 4 ECB), Glade also has a mail-in rebate here:

    http://www.scjohnson.com/Libraries/Download_Documents/Rebate_Form.sflb.ashx

Where you just have to buy 3 Glade products and you get a rebate check of 5 dollars! Just thought I'd include this for those of you who did do that deal!!
  • Beth
I just wanted to let everyone know about a decent deal on Duraflame logs. I bought 2 today bogo and used the $5 off one 6 log box I printed off the Duraflame website. That made them $10 a box! Not a bad deal! CVS batteries are also bogo for a 12 count pack. When I scanned my card I got a $2 off $10 CVS items. That made 4 packs about $10! (I wanted the 40 count for 9.99 but they were out.)
  • Kim G
can anyone tell me where i can find the $5 off $30 coupon from the cvs quiz?????
  • Chrissy
Kim G, you have to take a 3 question quiz and then you can print out the Q. I just did it this afternoon, but can't remember what the answers are.I got one wrong and itstill gave me the Q.
Click on the link posted at the top of this page.
  • Lucy
I'm new to the website (I don't have a membership). I was printing some coupons for the Target deals when I came across a $5 OSTEO-Bi Flex coupon on Kmart's website. It's not a Kmart coupon and it reads as follows: Save $5 on any Osteo Bi-Flex Caplets. The CVS circular states you buy 1 get 1 Free with card + get $3 extra care bucks when you buy (2) ALL Osteo Bi-Flex. I thought this might help everyone.
  • Linda
    Can't find the Osteo-Bi-Flex Qs on K-mart now. :(
  • Natalie
I found $5 coupons on the osteo bi flex website
  • Linda
    Got it- thanks!

So cool - went to CVS today after church. Grabbed my stuff, headed to the counter, put my first two things out and the cashier (my favorite one) said let me know which items you want to ring up first. I was only doing one transaction today and so it made it easy. As soon as I put everything on the counter, she said "here" and handed me a stack of qs that another customer didn't want. She said "you use these - take them". Then she wanted info on how to get some of the other qs I had and I was able to grab a spare q and share with someone else.

It is wonderful to be able to share the savings with other people.
  • Chrissy
You're so lucky! I'm jealous. The CVS employees around here try to make me feel like I'm stealing when I use Q's. I would die if they actually tried to help me save more $$$.lol
  • Yacoomba
I've had two bad experiences myself at the CVS where I live (ugh). I'm like you are still getting reimbursed if I use my coupons so don't give me the nasty look like I'm taking food away from your mouth. I just started couponing and it trips me out how some ppl are mad at us for wanting to keep some coins in our pocket. At the CVS close to my job-the one cashier loves the fact I come in with my coupons and ECB's (feels like home) :-)
  • makclair
Today I took advantage of the Pantene, Dawn and Aussie deals (went to walgreens prior to CVS in order to get papers for 88 cents each), but when I got to the car i realized they did not scan my 3.00 off 2 pantene coupon! I actually called them from the car and told them I was on my way in to get it fixed. They pulled the coupon from the register and it was right there, so they ended up giving me 3 dollars in cash! I wonder how many times they miss scanning my coupon and I don't notice and I lose my money!
  • Becky
Please tell me about the 88 cent newspapers at Walgreens! I am wondering what area you are in. I'm in Atlanta--Sunday papers here are $2. Does Walgreens discount their newspapers?
  • Rebecca
Does Walgreens always have their papers for 88 cents??
  • sara
I paid $1.50 at the WG in Helena, AL
  • kelli
I had a similar thing happen to me today. I had a $5 off coupon that beeped when he scanned it. he needed to adjust it down to $4.99 but he adjusted it down to $3 for some reason... The total ended up being more then I'd expected it to be but I just figured that I'd calculated wrong somehow. I'm glad that I looked at my receipt before I left the store because he'd messed me... he tried to tell me that I was wrong and he had only scanned what I'd given him. he kept insisting that I was in the wrong. I told him that he'd entered in a coupon amount and he again told me that I was wrong. I asked to speak to the manager who looked at my coupons and refunded my money.
  • Natalie
Question- If my friend and I shop together, I have one card, she has one card. . say we both get the south beach bars and she rings up first. .can I use her 5 ECB that she gets at the end of her transaction to pay for my south beach cars on my transaction and will my 5 ECB still print?
  • D
the cashiers can override it and allow you to use someone elses ECB but nowadays, very few will. The ECB is only good for your particular card. If they allow you to use them, then yes, the ECB will also print at the of your transaction for the product.
  • Natalie
Thanks D! Your statement that "The ECB is only good for your particular card" is just what info I was looking for. New to cvs-ing and didn't know this. Thanks again!
  • D
    No problem! Good luck!!
  • You can get two free Kleenex in Northern California with coupons!
  • melissa
i am also curious - are there places where you dont have to pay the tax on the pre-coupon total?

i keep spare change with me to pay the taxes. and at times have also used a cvs gift card and swiped it to pay the taxes.

    how do others handle it?
  • melissa
so, for those of you who bought the contour meter today to ge the $5 ECBs...what are you doing with the meter?

i have no use for it...
  • claudine
i work at an emergency animal hospital and we use the meters to check the glucose for our diabetic animals... thats what I do with my free meters... just a though :)
  • Shannon in ATL
I take mine to my local senior center, they are very happy to have them.
  • avenlee
I have given a few to my local Goodwill and was told by them that although they appreciate the donation, it's really the strips, themselves, that they could use. The meters that we are getting are basically just the meter, it's the strips that are in high demand and expensive!

My church just opened up a "Grandma's Closet". Like a tag sale setting. I plan on giving all my meters to them.
  • mary
I also donate the contour meters to schools - sometimes their nurses need them for students whose families can't afford them - and sometimes the nurses need them there in the schools
  • Ginger
    My suggestions:
give to a medical clinic nearby, if you have one
    give to Goodwill/charity
ask friends and familly. With the rising incidence of diabetes in the US, you will know someon who can use it.

Some people Ebay them-- look on Ebay, you'll see people selling them for next to nothing.
  • Suzanne
You can check out a website called www.isletsofhope.com as they will provide those meters and diabetic supplies to those in need.
  • melissa
So I went today and did these transactions:

    1 bottle contact solution, 9.99
    1 candy bar as filler
used $1 Q for contact solution
Paid using 9.99 ECBs from last week
    Got back 9.99 ECB

    bought contour meter, 14.99
    used 14.99 Q
    got $5 ECB

    bought 2 thermacares 6.99 each
    bought 1 colgate 2.99
    used 2 $3 qs (thermacare)
    used 1 $1 q (colgate)
    used a $5 off $15q
    total was $4.97+tax

    paid with $5 money card
got back $4 ECB, $2 ECB

    bought abreva, $17.99
    used $3q
paid with $5ECBs and $9.99 ECBs (from above)

    got back $5 ECBs

I left the store with all the above products, plus 12ECBs and cash. I will explain...

On Friday I purchased Abreva with ECBs and a gift card (I needed it and had no idea about these deals!!!). Before doing any of the deals today, I returned it. The manager couldnt get the machine to cooperate so she gave me part back in cash and part back in a gift card! That part made my head spin.

So I walked out of the store with:
    -contact solution
    -bayer meter
    -2 thermacares 3packs
    -colgate
    -abreva
    -12 ECBs
    -cash (~$13)

Note: 1 of the ECBs I earned for having the green tag.

Just wanted to let you know that the Poland Springs water Q is on longer available : (.
  • Jennifer
there is a $3 off (2) pantene items in this sundays paper. if you match it with the pantene deal you can get both for $1 each.
  • Marc
Natures Bounty is a money maker this time around - CVS allows one coupon per item with B1G1 sales!

    My trip this morning:

    4 x Natures Bounty B1G1 (D-400 and Potassium) = $9.98
    3 x South Beach Bars = $10
    2 x Pantene = $7
    1 x Colgate = $2.99
    1 x Ivory 3 pack = $.99

    -$5/30
    -4x$2 off Natures Bounty
    -3x$1 South Beach
-1x$1/2 Pantene (used my $3/2 at Rite Aid)
    -1x$1 Colgate
    -1x$1 Ivory

    Total = $13.46
    Used 2x $3.98 ECB, 1x $4 ECB and $1.5 OOP (tax)
    Got $6, $5, $2, $2 ECBs - $1.5 Money Maker
  • Ashley
I don't see how Nature's Bounty is a moneymaker. The coupon is for Nature's Bounty "Your Life". The cheapest vitamins are $4.99 w/ B1G1, and they are not "Your Life".

I got the D-400 for $4.99 B1G1, and only 2 bottles had $1.00 coupons on them.
  • Marc
If you become a member of their rewards program, you can print out 2 $2/1 coupons. Sign up yourself and spouse and you get 4 coupons! Should have mentioned that!
  • claudine
you can also sign into your account... use the codes here to get 500 points and print a $5 off 1 natures bounty product. Use the back button to print 6 times! pair with the $5/30 CVS coupon and it is a huge money maker!

    Total OOP- $15.53
    Total non-sale, non-coupon retail value- $95.39
Went in with 7 ECBs, left with 10 ECBs.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Thanks, Jenny!

PS- I did have one odd thing happen-- on the Revlon BOGO, the cashier would only let me use 2 of the Revlon coupons for my 4 lipsticks, not 4. I've used 1 per each item before on BOGOs. What's up with that? New policy, or was she just wrong?
  • Sherry
I think it all depends on the cashier you get. Sometimes they will allow me to use two Qs when buying two BOGO items, and sometimes they will tell me that they aren't allowed to take a Q on the Free item, so I can only use one Q on two BOGOs. I try to go to the stores that have cashiers that won't give me a hard time about it.

    Thanks!

I am having trouble printing the colgate coupon above... it's telling me "unknown error"... any suggestions?
  • bunchofpants
I guess that coupon is gone, but you can go to the Colgate site, sign up for their e-newsletter: http://www.colgate.com/app/Colgate/US/OC/SmileTalk/HomePage.cvsp, and instantly get access to at least six different Colgate printable coupons, including one for the Total that's on sale.

If you need soap for free the Ivory is on sale for $0.99 and there's a $1.00 coupon in the P&G for Ivory, Zest, or Safeguard. Even if you don't use this brand you could always donate it. :-)
  • LindaB
Do you remember the date of the P&G insert?
  • Yacoomba
Yeah it's today's paper, in the CVS circular it says $0.99 w/ card but when I went into the store it still had the regular price of $1.29 or $1.29. I picked it up anyway because I had the circular in hand if there was a dispute and got it for free. I was also able to get a travel size Lysol disinfectant for free too because I had a $1.00 off any size (sweet deal) . :-)

Should be coming in today's paper...12/27

I am confused about the month long Clipless coupon deal for the Complete contact solution. I went to CVS a couple days ago and their Complete solution was listed for $10.49, which is not the same price as is listed on Southern Savers. Also, it was not advertised as being a Clipless coupon deal. I am new to doing CVS, so I'm not sure what is going on. Should this deal still be effective thru December 31??
  • Yacoomba
It should be...your store may be out of the clipless coupon book (usually next to the circulars each week) that shows its the money maker deal. I bought some around the first of December and had no problem, go the money back in ECB's I paid for it.

Ok folks, can you help this CVS newbie???

Any way I can work the deals to pay nothing OOP?

Or if not, how can I pay the least OOP???

    I also have a $5 off $15 that expires in 12/27.

I am annoyed at CVS and myself because I bought some abreva yesterday as I am almost out!!! I plan to return it and buy it again...
  • Kristen
    Melissa,

Not sure if you have already made your trip to CVS or not but here are the transactions I would break yours into:

    Transaction #1

Buy: Abreva Cold Sore Treatment $17.99
    Use: -5 of $15
    -3 off Abreva Q
    Total Due: $9.99 + Tax
Use: 9.99 in ECB (ask your cashier to adjust your 10ECB to 9.99ECB)
    Total Due: Tax
    Get Back: 5 ECB

    Transaction #2

    Buy: Bayer Meter $14.99
    Use: -14.99 off Bayer Meter
    Total Due: Tax
    Get Back: 5 ECB

    Transaction #3

Buy: 2 Thermacare at $6.99 each
    1 Colgate Total $2.99
    Use: 2 -3 off Thermacare Q's
    -1.00 off Colgate
    Total Due: $9.97 + Tax
Use: 9.97 in ECB (ask your cashier to adjust your 10ECB to 9.97ECB)
Get Back: 4 and 2 ECB

    Total Value: $32.98
    Total OOP: Tax
    Get Back: 4 and 2 ECB's

I havent been yet - thanks!!!

    That is awesome.

How long before I can work out deals like that???
  • kristen
I've been doing cvs for almost two months. I seem to have picked it up rather quickly. I started figuring everything out in excel and now I can put them together in my head. I'm glad I could help, I think it's fun figuring out transactions.
  • Chrissy
How much does the Abreva cost?
W/out knowing the cost of it, I would buy everything else on your list. Should be $31.96 (before tax) use the $5/$15 and other Q's to get to $4.97. Pay with the ECB's you have - get $11 ECB's back.
Then buy the Abreva I guess if it's something that's expensive?

    I think that's right. lol
    I'm new to CVS also.
  • melissa
The abreva is expensive - $17.99 here.

But I was trying to figure a way to bring the cost down.

    I have a $3Q, plus it has a $5ECB this week...

I wish I had more than one of the $5 off $15 Qs...so I could combine it with the $3 abreva Q.
