In case all the Office Depot Freebies this week weren’t enough there is a great deal on paper this week too! This one has a few steps:

  1. Go to Ebates or Shop at Home – login or sign up
  2. Click on Staples (or go to Staples directly)
  3. Search by Catalog at the top of the page — search for 122374-QJ

Buy:
(2) of Item 122374-QJ
(1) of Item 358046  – 12 pencils for $1.61

Use code 47617 to take off $10

Total: $41.59 w/ free shipping

      Keep trying it. I had to enter the code three times and then it finally took it. (It told me expired twice before it worked.)

    I used coupon code 47617 and it worked for me. Maybe OP punched in one digit incorrectly. Hope this helps.

    For the 47617 code: the order processing page will show $5. Don't be fooled as this is $5 per box and not $5 total.

    Ok so I am super new to ebates. I went to their site awhile back and registered but never purchased anything. I just went through the site and clicked on staples for this deal. How do I get credit through ebates. Nothing is showing up on their page.

      It's actually on clearance (plus the $16 rebater per box). If you went straight to the Staples site it shows that.

    Paper clips are only .79 cents as a filler. Or eraser tops… I think those are the cheapest things. If you don't have an Ebates account, you can go straight to the Staples site and do it from there. Worked fine. Just a few dollars more. We have had so many viruses and issues with uploading other things that I just do things straight from the sites. Less of a headache even if I do pay $2-3 more.

    with all the deals it will be 2.07 for the two cases after the $32 rebate, the 1.54 from ebates and the staples reward of 5.98, is this right?? thats great if so!

    when I did the Easy Rebate it said Rebate 1 and only said $16…will it automatically send me $16 for each box?

      I had the same question & found the answer under the Staples Rebates FAQ. Copied from there:
      Q: I bought 2 (or more) items that fall under the same Easy Rebate® promotion number. After entering the first SKU online, I am not able to submit for the additional SKU(s).
      A: If you purchased multiples of the same product with a rebate or if you purchased multiple items that fall under the same rebate offer number, you only need to enter the rebate offer number once. The system will use your Easy Rebates® ID number or order number to verify the rebate products you purchased. Then it will update your status to reflect the multiple rebates.

      Yes. It said when submitting the rebate that they will evaluate the rebate and will update you new rebate total according to how many items you had submitted a rebate for. I think we should be getting an email about the total rebate amount.

    quick question, sorry if it's been covered already……………… is the $32 a straight rebate (a check) or is it rewards?

      it says at the end when you submit that it is a visa card but you can choose a rebate check before you submit payment instead of getting visa card

    Thank you SO MUCH! I was able to use a Staples reward for $43.00 that was going to expire April 30. Now I will get $32 of that back in cash (well in Visa cards!), $7.00 more in rewards and of course, all that copy paper! You make saving money EASY :)

        I had the same problem at first because I clicked on the ad for the paper on the home page. Remove the paper from your cart then do a search for 122374-QJ and add that to your cart. It looks the same but when you check your cart it shows up with the clearance price.

    When I put the paper into the cart, I do not get a clearance price… It says $37.99 for a case and the clearance price is not 21.59. Are there 2 rebates or an instant rebate? Please help me out if there is a missing step in the process. I was able to get free shipping and $10 off but I don't want to put through the payment on over $70 worth of paper.

    Just wondering where this coupon code came from. On the bottom of the staples site, after I entered in the coupon, it states that staples.com reserves the right to reject orders using a coupon code obtained from a bulletin board or any other internet site. I would love to do this if the coupon won’t be rejected later. Thanks for any input about this.

      Just pick any cheap item, I got paper clips for $0.79.

    I read the post but am still not sure how I'm getting the paper that cheap? I'm about to check out through Ebates at Staples and it says the total (w/ free shipping) without the pencils is $75.98 and they are only giving me $5 not $10 off with that code. Help?

          I just entered that item number and it brought me to the correct sale paper, so I'm not sure why you're not getting it. Did you enter that number in the SEARCH space?

        That should give you the right paper. It will say $8.99 after rebate.

    I am trying to figure out how you get $1.54 back from ebates. It is 2% for ebates, which would be $0.83 or 3% for Shop at Home, which would be $1.25, right?

    If any of you (or your spouses) are teachers and if you don't have a Staples Rewards account yet, you can sign up for their Teacher Rewards card. Then you will get free shipping on any order of any size (you won't need filler items to bring the total to $50).

      I just looked at the Teacher Rewards and it says that $50 is required for free shipping. The program changed to Staples Teacher Rewards on 1/1/10.

        I ordered two cases of paper yesterday ($49.98 before the $10 coupon), and I got free shipping. It was showing a shipping charge before I logged in, and after I logged in with my teacher rewards number, the shipping charge went away.

        Maybe they've changed it for new members so the $50 total is required? I don't know. Sorry.

    This is a great deal. Thank you! Im just wondering if I messed up though because I would rather have a check than the visa gift card. When I submitted the rebate, it showed up as the gift card. Anyone know if I can i still get a check? Thanks for the info.

      with the online rebate, if you didn't choose the check during the process, it's not possible to change it. “rebate check” has to be chosen before the rebate is submitted. sorry :( but at least they're visa gift cards you can use anywhere and not just staples!

    I'm am soooo confused about the rebate/rewards programs for office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot. But, I could REALLY use some great deals on paper, pens, etc. Between couponing and my home sales business, I can't keep enough supplies around! Can someone enlighten me on how it works?       2 it says the system will automatically adjust your rebates to however many you bought but it is a limit of 2 rebates

    Followed instructions – coupon worked great…however…my problem came with the rebate. It would only offer a rebate of $16 (not $32). I am in the process of canceling my order. :(

    the price after the rebate is $21.99 a case. So how do you get them for $5 each?????? Even with the take $10 off deal above it would still be $16.99 a case after the rebate because they are on sale for $37.99 – $16.00 rebate – $5 off with the code 47617 will still cost you $16.99 a case.

      $16 rebate per case. buy 2 cases get $32 reabate. $37.99-$32= $5.99 :)

    ok just an FYI, i chatted online with a staples rep and it is a rebate of $16 per case. so yes if you bought 2 cases you will receive $32 in rebates. it was a little unclear as a total was never given but it is in fact $32 and not $16 :)

    I did this deal but instead of ordering pencils priced at 1.61, I ordered pens priced at 99¢ for a dozen. I also used 35.90 in Staples rewards that were about to expire. This brought my out-of pocket to around $5 and I will get the $32 in rebates. I love turning Staples Rewards into cash that I can spend anywhere!

    Does anyone know if this deal is still going? I looked at the circular for Staples and it says still good thru today (4/24) but when I go to put in the item number and it comes up, I am getting a price of $37.99 per case. With the $16.00 rebate it's still 21.99 per case. I know many of you are posting that you are getting your paper for around .60 cents a ream (after all your discounts) which is about $12.00 total for the order. I figured it out. With the rebates and free shipping and $10 off two cases, I am still paying around $1.70 a ream. This is still a good deal but not as good as what I am reading. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
