    • Bholmes75

might be worth my while to get 2 papers

      • guest

That is what I just told my husband. we will be getting 2 papers this sunday!!!!

        • That's funny! I just told my husband he was in charge of getting at least two since I will be in a super small country county visiting family!

        • Shannon

Well…. I will be getting 15 papers this weekend! :D

          • Melissa

That's crazy. No wonder stuff on sale is wiped out when one person has 15 of the same coupon.

            • Zarate06

Maybe you're new to couponing? 15 is a fairly normal amount to have of a single coupon. I buy 4 papers and then get several inserts from neighbors/friends/family plus the printables. Plus, when you buy coupons from clipper services or from ebay, 10-20 is a fairly normal amount to order. Not trying to argue w/ you, but your reply to Shannon was not really fair.

            • Shannon

              Thank you Zarate06! :)

            • Melissa

I still say thats crazy and don't really care what everyone says. I am a single mom of 3 with two in diapers and I don't buy 20 papers or order 20 coupons on ebay. I have a huge stockpile and no I am not new to couponing but I am entitled to my opinion.

            • Shannon

Actually, it is not crazy at all! I have never, and will never, “wipe-out” any one item that is on sale that I have 15 coupons for! If I have a stack of coupons for a certain item that is on sale and I plan to stock-pile on that item then I will make several trips to several different stores!

            • Suboys64

I get 25 papers every week.I keep our family at home of 4 stocked, plus my young married daughter in her new family. another maintaining an apartment while going to college. It is wrong to assume that we are wiping out the store.I ussually don't get to the store until later in the week when things are sold out.Rainchecks and kind mgrs. are my friends I will preorder product for a sale so they can order a box just for me and not touch the shelf most times. So in some instances I am only shopping once every 2 weeks on sale items, the store knows when I am in,and opens a special register with someone who is knowledgagle in Publix coupon policies as not to hold other customers or myself up.I love the stores I shop at in Weeki Wachee and Spring Hill they go above & beyond for customer service.I do what I do to provide for my family and others in the community.I do know there is some people buying things just to sell @ flea market etc. What some of us do is a labor of love.Don't judge unless you know the size of a family,or what a person is donating to the community!God bless and if you find a store is out out of something just smile and ask for a raincheck and tell your customer service rep to have a wonderful day!

            • pat

$50.00 at least a week on newspapers wow thats a lot! After a while theses adds all look the same. But by the look of the coupons we know who is promonting the sales. Wish we had soon new companies with coupons.

            • Suboys64

no I only spend $6.00 my paper guy drop them at my door every Sun. for 300. and change a year.

            • Mom_4_Him

We often get 10-12 papers a week. We do not wipe out the stores. I believe in the Golden Rule and will not get more than 4-8 of an item at a time depending on how much the store has in stock. Last week, I really needed the Resolve Stain spray, I have 5 children-2 toddlers, and there were only 4 on the shelf. I only took 2. So please just because someone may purchase a lot of papers, do not make assumptions. For those who do clear the shelves, please show some respect and treat others the way that you want to be treated!!!

            • Making a Living

I can't believe everyone still bickers over this! Obviously we all have different opinions on this. Do what you do, noone needs to know how you feel about it all. I guarantee everyone gets PLENTY and still complains. I get about 40 papers a week, I do sell at Flea Markets to SUPPORT MY FAMILY, I cut rip, sort, cut and file them, I shop, I work. I get tired of listening to everyone complain and I know their shelves are FULL. And, yes, you can tell who's new at this b/c a typical buy on Ebay is 20 coupons at a time. Oh, and buy them also on top of the papers!!!

            • SFLS

“I do sell at Flea Markets to SUPPORT MY FAMILY, I cut rip, sort, cut and file them, I shop, I work”

Is all that effort worth it? Have you ever figured out your hourly wage (Flea market sales – booth rental – gas – storage – time shopping = what?)? I can't imagine you are making any more than minimum wage. Plus, I also hope you are paying the appropriate taxes on your income…

            • newbiecouponer

              This is so true!

            • momto2boys

              I agree!!

            • Paulahecker

I am feeding a family of 5 and I usually get 1-2 papers depending. I am in Tallahssee and the democrat sometimes is missing one of the inserts or the other. I do not expect we'll get 2 red plums, and the smart source won't have a 3rd of what is listed! Grr!

I can't see how one would need so many papers, but I suspect they keep more stock pile than I do. I have a pantry and a large upright cabinet for food. Paper goods and cleaning supplies live in my laundry room closet. I found I was over-stocking and still have some non-perishables I bought last fall. That's not good, but it takes a while to learn.

It is nice to be able to fill a food drive bag from the school on a moment's notice, or have a big cookout with only having to run out for hot dog buns!

            • Patricia

You mean the Demo-crap? I'm going to see if we can get an Orlando Sential or something at a bookstore. Send me your email and I'll let you know.

            • Jmflosc

That's not crazy. If we are willing to spend our money to buy the papers, we can get as many coupons as we like. You have the same chance to get coupons as anyone else. Don't be jealous of someone “wiping” out the shelves when you too can do it.

    • Dixie

      Wow, exciting Sunday!!

    • Becky

woo hoo! think I'll get 4 papers this Sunday!!

    • Kelly

Looks great! Thanks for the preview!!

    • Coupons090

awsome, but i wonder how many of these i will get in the fla times?

      • Ingjess09

        you should get all,

    • Mhbuchanan97

Wishing I could get an Atlanta paper this weekend..

      • Kristen_DH

Where are you? I get the AJC.

      • Lharris4382

I just happen to be in the ATL this weekend and I am going to get me a paper!

        • becky5

The double paper is only 50 cents more and you get double the coupons. I am going for 5 myself.

    • sealey5

Is the Orlando Sentinal going to have (4) inserts as well? I've never seen that many in one newspaper!

      • Phyllis

The Orlando Sentinel always has the inserts listed with virtually all the coupons. Ocassionally there are slight differences in a few of the coupon values, or if there is an item not locally available the coupon may not be included.

    • Jessica

There is a coupon for Free Papmers Wipes 72+ when you buy diapers. The 72 plus makes me wonder. Does that mean we could get a big package of the diaper wipe refills since it is more than 72 wipes? If so, then that is awesome. Those refill packs are like $8 each!

      • Lisa

We randomly get something called the “Atlanta Evening Edge” in our driveway that has the upcoming weekend's coupons and I just checked the P&G, the coupon says it is for 72 count or less, I saw your post and had to check it out, that would have been a great deal!

        • Katie

Lisa I get that too! For months I was just recycling it without looking inside!

      • Patricia

The 72 count wipes are the new thick care and the ones that come in the green tubs. the sensitive ones are 60 count, i think.

    • judy

Hi, sorry I'm new to all this, are these coupons included in every different kinds of newspaper? or there's a special newspaper that has those coupon books?
and where can I get them? I never read sunday newspapers

      • acpack

Get the biggest paper you can get, depending on your area, for the best chance that it will have all of the possible coupons.

    • SuperShopper4eight+

i will totally be getting 10 or 12 papers Sunday!!!!

    • Ruth

For those of you who are buying large amounts of papers this Sunday, what is it you see in these inserts that make them extra special? Seems to me the coupons are running about the same amounts as usual.

      • Sarah

the P&G coupons. you can get that brand named stuff for cheap.

    • Jodielynn23

I usually get the AJC, but I'm in the Philadelphia area this weekend. I know the coupons will vary up here from the ones down there, but will there still be four coupon inserts? Or will that vary from down there as well?

    • Paulahecker

As for clearing the shelf–if you discover your item not on the shelf, just ask. Publix is the only store I have ever been in that does not seem to mind “checking in the back” for an item. Today it was Simply Potatoes. The plain ones were all out. I asked the stocker and he brought more out.

And if they are totally out, get a raincheck. I did just that Wednesday with the Zephyrhills water and was able to get them today and get an additional 50 cents off because the replacements had peelies on them. (this was on top of a $1 off water I had for buying the right bites). Thanks to the raincheck, I got 2 12 packs of Zephyhills for 79 cents!

    • Lfarns

I was fairly new to couponing at the first of the year when my 1 year old was diagnosed with leukemia. With everthing I'm juggling, I'm so discouraged and disenchanted with couponing and couponers. Now more than ever, my family needs to save money but with an immuno suppressed baby, I can't go to the store several times a week, or drive to many different stores. I have never and will never clean out a shelf no matter how hard times get for my family. I think people who do that are what is wrong with frugality. What started as something so postitive and fullfilling has become another lesson in survival of the fittest. My local Publix manangers are lovely people and they are as disgusted with this type of shopper as I am. They can give me rainchecks all day but most of the time coupons for the rainchecked items expire while I await a new shipment. This is supposed to be a way to help cut expenses, not a way to cut others throats.

      • Ricky

        why fear that way.

      • Sarah

i dont see why that is wrong? they are just saving money for THEIR family and anyway that you can do it, i ,especially will. how do you know that they are not in the same situation that you are. just because they take the time to spend their money wisely doesnt mean that you have any right to discourage or even be angry about this. every man for himself. there are other stores than publix

        • CR

I think it has more to do with the person who goes in and buys 15 bottles of body wash at one time. Yes, you can approach it as every man for himself, but others view life and humanity as more of a community – in other words, it would be nice if people would only take what they need and be considerate of others. No, we don't know every other person's situation, but some seem to just buy to get a “coupon high”.

        • Lfarns

Actually, Sarah, I have the right to feel any way I want to about it. I have a different world view than you do because I don't believe in every man for himself. I didn't believe it before my daughter got cancer and I don't believe it now. Someday something catastrophic will happen in your life and you may wish that you looked out for your fellow man more, so that someone would look out for you in your time of need.

      • becky5

Sorry to hear about your baby–hope he/she is better soon.
For many of us, couponing is a way to strecth our money. I have and do shop for others, so I would suggest you find a friend who is a couponer who will pick up deals for you. As for cleaning out a shelf, someone has to get the last item on the shelf, right? Most stores (including publix–at least in my area) limit the amount you can purchase per trip. I make several trips for good deals. Walgreens will print out only one reward per transaction, so I make multiple trips for their deals as well. I had a store manager tell me he loves coupons because the store gets all the monies back from the issuer, plus a handling fee per coupon. If you are in the Atlanta area, message me and I will shop for you, too!

I appreciate your offer of help. One of the things about my daughter's cancer is how isolating it is. I've fallen out of contact with many of my friends and church congregations, or I would ask for more help. It always seemed to me that I should try to take care of our needs myself, rather than burden anyone else. Thanks for showing me that there are still those around willing to help others.

I will send out a prayer for your baby…and I do agree with you…I personally know people who clean out the shelves, stockpile, and then sell it online or have people come to their basements or store rooms and “shop”. While there is no “rule” on how to use coupons or ethical practice, I do believe in the reaping and sowing principle. What goes around comes around. I don't think manufacturers' designed coupons to be manipulated and then the product sold elsewhere for cheap. I know this isn't right, because there is no sales tax being generated or income claimed when people buy from other people. All of those things are needed to keep the economy and country's finances moving. So that is wrong. A manufacturer provides a coupon so “we” the consumer will will use this incentive to try their product. IF WE ALL ARE GENEROUS, AND THINK OF OTHERS FIRST, THERE WILL BE PLENTY TO GO AROUND, however, most of the time it's a me first attitude. I wish you blessings and healing for your family, and I can totally know what you are talking about.

Thank you for the prayers on behalf of my daughter. They are always welcome. I appreciate your support of my comments as well. It's so good to hear that there are others who share my point of view and think of more than just themselves. I wish blessing for yor family too!

My mother-in-law has leukemia and had her colon removed 2 years ago. She receives blood on a regular basis. My father-in-law has cancer. My husband has been having all kind of tests run in the last 2 years trying to find out why he has memory loss, slurred talking, blackouts and other medical problems. He has been unable to work or get on disability during this time so there is no income there. I also have medical problems and am on medication. We do have insurance but the doctor visits and 150 combined piils we take a week costs quite a bit. We have 2 grown grandchildren who need help because of the lack of work they get. My check is our only income so coupons are a must. If there are only 2 boxes of cheerios on the shelf and we eat 3 boxes a week then I am going to grab them. This is not for profit, this is how I manage to feed us.

No Smart Source in my weekend edition this morning. I don't get the regular paper though, all I get is a small publication for NE Cola by the State paper called “YES”. Maybe it'll be in the regular paper. Will have to check after church…

What is the right number? I and my husband are raising 4 children…6 in the household. I also give things to my mom and grandmother both are unable to work right and are on tight resources. What would you suggest because I don't have a stock pile of anything other than what I have grown in the garden. Thanks in advance :)

This is why I stopped buying the Birmingham and Gadsden papers. I always go for the Huntsville Times. They usually have the better coupons anyways.
