These deals start Wednesday 12/2 at Food Lion.  There are two “deals” running this week, I am more impressed with the 3 day deal and the possibility of $3.49 Huggies, than I am with the Buy 10 Save $10 Deal.  Watch the later deal, most of the participating items are at full retail prices.  Stick to buying the deals that free and you will do much better!  Let me know if you find other participating products in the store.

shoppinglist1

Remember:
1. Check with your local store about B1G1 items. Ask “Are you required to buy 2, or will they each ring up at half price?”
2. Most Food Lion stores do not double coupons.
3. If you do a B1G1 deal, use 2 coupons if they will let you.
4.  There are regional variations in all ads, so check your ad for any small price changes.

If you are new to Southern Savers read up on what all  this means.

    • Ashley

the link for the huggies in store coupon does not work…

      • Jenny

fixed it. It is really just to the main list of grocery store coupons (the link at the top of the page).

    • Melissa

The food lion diaper coupons still print with a black background. I wish they would fix that. I stopped my printer after the Huggies coupon printed, so that at least limited the waste of ink.

      • Michelle in Martinez

yeah, i just found that out the hard way. what a waste of ink! :(

      • Brooke

I found that on the print set up screen, under Print Range…if you select Current View insead of All, it eliminates a lot of the black ink background. Hope that helps :)

      • Anne

I saved the file (the PDF print one) then in Adobe went to tools, select and zoom, snapshot…I highlighted around the diaper coupon only and it copied it. Then I pasted it in word and printed. Seems like a lot of work but it only took a minute. I didn’t need the rest of the coupons.

    • Buffy

Quick question – do these deals start at 8 PM on Friday or 8 AM on Friday – PM seemed odd so I wanted to check.

Also – on the Banquet meals – IDK how much they are at Food lion this week but Bi-Lo will have them for $0.88 – I got my paper tonight…so I thought I would let everyone know this!

      • Jenny

It’s a.m. thanks for catching that!

    • Stacie

Can you print and use more than 1 coupon per transaction? Or only in seperate transactions. I have 12 2.00 off Huggies coupons I have been saving for a great deal. I also have my husband and 4 kids that could go with me to buy the diapers.

      • Jenny

You can only use one per transaction per day technically.

    • Stacie

Also- the FL coupon says pull ups or Goodnights- I am assuming that it won’t work for regular diapers?

      • Mina

The coupon says “Huggies, Pull Ups or Goodnites.” The comma after the word Huggies makes it a series that includes all three lines.

    • Tina

I’m a bit confussed. Is Welch’s Sparkling Grape Juice, $2.99 or $1.99 after the $10.00 off 10 items? If it $2.99, it will not be $.49 or free after coupons. Correct?

      • Jenny

It is $2.99, only the prices in parenthesis have the $1 per item taken into account.

    • ET

In the weekly sales email I received from FL, the link to their coupons included $1 off of the 3 lb. bag of clementiones which would make them $2.49.

    • Liz

The link to the Huggies coupon is for $2 of a Box, will this apply also to the jumbo package?

      • Mina

No. If the coupon states “48 ct or larger” it doesn’t apply to the jumbo pack.

The Food Lion store q is good for the size on sale, though.

        • Mina

You know what? I need to go pick up an insert. The #’s of what I see in Jumbo packs aren’t jiving with the count listed in the breakdown in the list here. Jumbo packs of Huggies are the small packs & Mega Packs are the large packs. I don’t like to go to FL with the wrong q’s because I have enough trouble getting their registers to accept both a store and MQ on an item.

          • Carrie

Hmmmm, that makes a big difference to me too. My regular $2.00 off any huggies product coupon expired a few days ago since I was greedy and printed it off right when I saw it first advertised. Now I could really use it and can’t. The box coupon is valuable but not with this scenerio from what it appears. I was hoping to buy some diapers for a friend who comes by the house every Tuesday to coupon from this site. She has a baby and needed my sample huggies that I got in the mail this past week. I know she could use the diapers but anything above that $3 price is pushing it for me too.

      • Eunice

I was able to use the box coupon because it didn’t specify an amount. The Food Lion in Nashville wouldn’t accept more than one coupon per item though. Disappointing.

    • Katrina Ryder

The three day sale items don’t show up on my shopping list when I select them. Am I not being permitted to include these on my list until Friday? Just wondering if maybe there was a glitch.

THANK YOU FOR THESE LISTS JENNY!! I hope you hear it enough!

      • Jenny

Fixed it, thanks for letting me know. It is very picky with characters.

    • At Food Lion here they will not stack coupons. Called corp office and they said against company policy must do either or.

      • Alysia

        Where are you?

        • I live in Reidsville NC. My youngest son works for Food Lion and they told him the same thing. When Distict Marager came in he ask him as well. We all got same answer. There are 5 Food Lions within 15 minutes of my house and I have tried them all with no luck at any of them. Very unsetting since I would really like to support the company that my son works for but what do you do?

      • Annamarie

Mine will, wonder why they said that.

    • Rebecca F

I just found a $2/1 Snuggle q in the mailbox, which is usually an upcoming insert for this Sunday’s paper. I’m in Charlotte.

    • ashley

The $2 huggies coupon says it’s for diaper box so how will it work for this deal?

      • Annamarie

There were some $2 off a Huggies diapering product last month that are still valid.

    • Sonya

Same question as others concerning my huggies coupon saying it’s only for boxes. I wouldn’t think it’ll work on a Jumbo pack.

    • Becky

Does Food Lion have a printer on site to get their store coupons instead of having to print them at home?

      • Sheila

No, with a lot of stores you are lucky if they wil just accept them. FL stores have gotten really picky over the last year.

        • Annamarie

you mean food lion stores won’t honor them?

    • Ashley

I want to get some cereal and am trying to use the $10 on 10 products to help me make them cheap. I was thinking about the popcorn…not sure I need 10 boxes, but if I bought 10 boxes and used 10 coupons, I would get $10.00 back. And then if I bought 10 boxes of cereal and used $1.00 off for each one, and my $10.00 I earned previously, that would be free. Could someone comment on whether you think that would be a good way of going about it?
      I just need cereal…haha

      • Jenny

Sounds like a plan. Or split up the pop corn and get some prunes too :)

    • kelli

I was excited about the prunes but the coupon wasn’t in my insert. :(

      • todd

        Excited about prunes? Really?

        • kelli

haha, my fiance eats them and I’d love to get them for 29 cents each.

    • Meredith

Anyone know the regular price of the Holly Farms Chicken breast (that will be 50% off this week)? Just wondering how this compares with the $1.99 Tyson at Kroger this week.

      • Jenny

Knowing Food Lion I would say a regular price of $4-$4.50 lb and would probably say head to Kroger…

    • Diana

I was the 627th person to vote for Jenny. Please vote for Jenny on the right hand side of her site under go vote. This is the only time she has asked for anything from us. There is another site that has 900 votes. Jenny really wants this! Come on girls let’s show her how much we care!

    • Fran

Went to my local Food Lion to get the Huggies deal. They wouldn’t let me use the manufacturer’s coupon AND the store coupon. :-(

    • Momof2 (Greer)

I will try to stack the Huggies coupon tomorrow. I received a $3 man q today so I will stack that with the $1.50 store q for a total of $2.49 a pack. I don’t have anyone in diapers but will pay it forward to someone who does.

      • Jennifer

Do you shop at the Lyman SC store. If so let me know if they will stack them, cause I will there when I get off!

    • Natalie

Just went to Food Lion on my lunch break and they let me buy 2 of the huggies even though store coupon says 1 per day. Also used the coupon from the Target site for $5 off 4 boxes of cereal so it made my boxes 74 cents each!!

    • Jennifer

The FL on Broad River Rd and Kennerly Rd near Irmo took both coupons. The pure and natural are also on sell so with the $3 off coupon it comes to $2.87 with tax (size 5 has 20). The regular diapers come to $3.87 (size 5 has 27). The FL off of exit 97 (I-26) at 8 am didn’t take both coupons so be warned. Haven’t tried the Ballentine one yet, but I pass all three on the way home. Just make sure you give your FL card before the coupons or the machine might not take both.

    • JEB

The Jolly Time popcorn is not BOGO, but is only on sale for $1.99 a box, so after the coupon, it will not be free. I was disappointed!

      • JEB

The store brand popcorn and Orville Redenbacher were BOGO at my store.

      • Jenny

Sorry for the confusion Jill, it is free after you get the $1 coupon back from buying it as part of the $10 back sale.

    • amy

I love the deal on the Huggies, I was able to buy 4 packages b/c the I only had one to buy and the cashier mentioned what I great deal I was getting and I said it was, but I just wish you could buy more than one with the FL coupon. She said I could as long as I bought only 4 b/c that was what the ad stated. I was so excited! They will only be $2.74 a package after I send the receipts in to Caregivers Marketplace for their rebate!!! Awesome!

Oh and I don’t live near a FL, it is a good 30 minutes from my house in Greenville, SC, but it was well worth it!

    • cynthia

hello, im looking for the flip on the climingtines, cant find it on the coupon page?thanks for all your help

    • Rachel

The Pure and Naturals are in on this deal as well, so use those $3 coupons w/ the Food Lion coupons!!

    • Annamarie

For the Huggies deal, I did 2 transactions, each one I used a $3 Pure and Natural coupon and a store coupon. They came out to less than $3.00 with tax. Plus the first one printed me a $3 store coupon on my next Huggies purchase of $14.00…guess I will go back tomorrow!! LOL

    • In Charleston, the one on Ashley Phosphate let me stack Qs for the diapers but the one on Remount said no. I looked up their policy and she was right. Food Lion is my least favorite store and you would think they would try harder to compete with Bilo and Publix. So if I used the $1.50 FL Q and not the Mani Q or if I stacked them, the result for the store is the same since they would be reimbursed by the manufacturer. So why not, Food Lion?

    • cynthia

just came back from food lion and the casher couldnt get the $5.00 coupon from target to work on my cereal, the maneger came over and he couldnt get it to work nether so i just had her to void them off.but i did do good on all other items.the casher was having a bad day..i paid with a $100 and she gave me back my change but left the $100 on the counter ,i handed it to her and she said thats not mine, so i told her she never put it in the register, she was so glad i was honest..then i bought 2 packs of cheese, and it cost me 2cent…when i came home and looked at my bill she had scaned my coupon 4 times

    • nikki

Sorry if someone else has mentioned this, but the Boston Market meals are buy 2 get one free.

    • KJ Gibbs

Had an okay trip to FL.

Good deal on the Huggies (they let me buy 4 packs) at 5.49 with the coupons. Although I noticed this Jumbo pack was 4 diapers smaller than packs I have bought elsewhere.

Unfortunately when I tried to do the Save 10 Buy 10 deal – they would not give me the $10 off – so I’m calling the corporate office. I had 4 bags of pecans, 4 bags of prunes, and 2 bags of craisins (plus coupons). The manager was trying to say that the $10 referred to the MVP savings (which was $12 on the pecans alone). I even had him ring up 10 bottles of bbq sauce – which weren’t on MVP sale – and no discount came up – and he still would not honor the $10 off 10 items.

It was the Food Lion on Hendersonville. Anyone else have this problem.

      • shay

I also did the buy 10 get $10 and did not receive a credit and the young cashier did not seem to know why and didnt seem very interested in helping me and I didnt want to get a refund although I would normally never pay over $4 for BBQ sauce and ranch dressing. I got those, the OJ, Welchs Sparkling Juice and 7 of the Ocean Spray Juices! I’m going to call corp as well and inquire about it. The only coupon I used was the $1 off welchs. Anyone else get do the deal and got thier $10 coupon? I didnt think the deal was that great but I drink alot of Cranberry Juice.

    • Kim

Is the Winter Savings booklet located at Food Lion? I would like the coupon for the cream cheese.

    • Melissa

I see that at least one other person got the catalina coupon for $3.00 off your next purchase when you spend $14 or more on Huggies.

Any scenarios which make it a good deal? I am assuming that I can use that coupon, plus a store huggies coupon and manufacturer’s for each item, since it’s good for the whole purchase. (Except that I can’t use more than one store huggies coupon total.)

      • Melissa

        2 Huggies Diapers @ 6.99 each = $13.98

        – 1.00 manufacturer’s coupon
        – 1.00 manufacturer’s coupon (I already used the only $2 coupon I have, and my store doesn’t carry Pure and Naturals.)
        – 1.50 store Huggies coupon
        – 3.00 store catalina off Huggies

        =$7.48 ($3.74 per pack)

Only problem is, I’m 2 cents shy of $14. I’d have to find a really inexpensive Huggies product to make up for that, and my experience with food lion is that nothing is inexpensive unless there’s a major sale.

        • Melissa

They didn’t have the size diapers I needed, so I got a raincheck. Maybe I’ll have better manufacturer’s coupons by the time I use it.

I also got 4 boxes of cornflakes, since that was the only Kellogg’s cereal that was $1.99 and over 10 oz., like the coupon from Target said. The cashier had to get the manager to put it through. She did, and just as she was walking away, she said, “oh, that’s for target!” I told her that it was printed from Target’s site, but it’s a manufacturer’s coupon and didn’t say redeemable only at Target. She peered at it for a while, then seemed to get frustrated, saying she couldn’t read it and said something like “whatever.”

Oh well. If she had wanted to refuse it, I would have just had them void the order. I wasn’t going to argue about it, but I don’t like her acting as if I’m trying to get away with something.
