    • kp

Received $10/30 coupons from Food Lion (live in Mauldin) — one a week for four weeks (unfortunately first one expires today and I can't use it) and Publix will accept them as competitor coupons!

      • Myheartmyhome

Where did you get these from?  Are you on a Food Lion mailing list?
        Thank you for sharing!  :)

        • kp

I had a Bloom discount card so they may have just sent them out to all Bloom card holders?  Not sure, but I was thrilled!

          • Chrissy Miller

wow I live in Greenville, hope they mail them to me too!  but I shop in Mauldin go to Bilo and publix and Ingles since they are all together and loved that Bloom on Holland Rd guess I will be going to FL on pelham now.

    • Lucyh70

I've got a scenerio that happenned last week at the Foodlion in Ballentine SC (the one on Hwy 176).  I had a Q for buy 2 V8 Fusion and get a Fusion+Tea for free.  I also had  2-Qs for $1.50/1 V8 fusion.  They were on sale for $2.50 each.  That makes each $1 w/ a free fusion +tea.  At the Q center, it printed me a Q for $1.50/2 V8 fusion (store Q).  This would have all 3 $0.49.  The cashier told me it would not take the store Q that I just printed off in the store b/c “Ibought 3 instead of 2.”  She asked me if I understood.  i said NO that was the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard.  she would not take it.  a line was forming behind me and i still got a great deal.  i was going to call coroporate but my friend said that she has had many problems w/ them and never heard anything back from them after several complaints.  Jody, the produce man and the deli lady are great and very helpful.  but i can careless to go back in and deal w/ the cashiers & management.  FYI thencashier was probably 19 at the most & the assistant manageris very negative about QS.  Maybe i just catch her on a bad day, but I will probably go to other FLso I don't risk going postal on one of them in the future.

      • Nacco125

I've had so many problems there too! So not helpful and I asked questions to the manager about probs i was having and his response was.. oh i don't know.

        • Shannonw1983

thats what i hate about fl they will not take store and manu cpn at the same time, i dont ever save anything there and so i dont shop there often

      • uschick1

i haven't had this issue at my food lion in va…i went in last week and bought v8 fusion..2 for $5, used the $1 off any 2, 2@$1.50 off 1, and pd $1.13 for 2 bottles. Got a catalina for $1 my next fl purchase…So i went back in and got 2 more bottles, used the same coupons i previously did plus the catalina and paid 10cents for the next 2 bottles!!

      • April

Hey! My mom had a similar issue with the Food Lion near my home. The cashiers were really rude and didn't understand coupons and refused to take them. Well, after talking to management and that not working, she wrote corporate. Corporate got in touch with the store manager and they sent my mom a $20 gift card to food lion and ever since everyone has been soo friendly. Now the girls that work there LOVE to see how much money we can save. They like to wait to scan our FL card until after the total, then do the coupons. They love to see us save 1/2 of our bill!

        • Coupons090

glad that worked out for you guys . they do have a funny system .at the fl i shop they have a wal-mart-ish system the register wont take store coupons +manuf. it wont take $$ off 1 and a b1g1 coupon together and it will not let your total for any one group of items go under 0.00  example 1) if marsal towels are on sale for .99 each and i buy five at a total 4.95  and say a candy bar  @ 1.19 if i handed over 5 1.00 on any marcal coupons it wouldnt accept the fifth one.meaning the register doesnt allow overage on a single item, items are somehow grouped together .example 2) if you bought 1 marcal towel @.99 and a candy bar  1.19 and then a coupon for 1/1 the register would beep and your cashier may not accept it (we dont allow overage) very strange but i have done both of the above just trying figure the system out.
i usually just get .99 cokes and meats . tip: if you have a b1g1 coupon they usually just scan these and you get the max value for it .

          • Kari

I had the same thing happen to me with the marcel paper towels……. I had 4 coupons for $1 off and they were on sale .99 a roll. After I paid I looked at the reciepe and only 3 coupons went thur. I told the cashier and she said FL does not allow free items, she said you are only able to get something for free if the coupon states it can be free(which I know it not true I have a stock pile to prove it :). She then scaned the coupon and gave me a $1 back so I was still able to get all 4 rolls for free.

            • Stacy

Next time give them your MVP card AFTER they have done the coupons.  You can even get money off the tax this way.

      • DxieGirl85

I attempted to do the V8 deal ( 2 of the 1.50 off coupons + the free V8 fusion tea coupon) on two separate occasions at my FL in Gaston, SC. The first time I bought 9 bottles (3 deals). The register kept ringing up too many coupons. The lady typed in her code a couple of times and I went on my merry way. When I got home, I realized that I had spent more than I had planned. After checking my receipt, I found out that she bypassed two of the free V8 fusion tea coupons- wrote the full price of 3.69 on the coupon and kept it. I did all of the work-didn't get a deal, and FL made over 7 dollars off of my coupons! I decided to try again with just 3 bottles. This time, FL refused to take my coupons. They said I could use the 2 -1.50 coupons or the free tea but not all of them. When I tried to explain one coupon per product purchased, they looked at me like I was trying to steal from them and continued to refuse. I've decided that I will only go back to FL when absolutely necessary!

        • Chloe's mom

i used all my coupons for the same scenario just fine. as a matter of fact they all scanned right through..no overrrides or anything…i was soooo excited to tell my husband i had gotten the v8's for .50 cuz he really had this look on his face like…”though we were on a budget”….lol score….i'm sorry they gave you such a hard time….

        • Alisha20

you can't use coupons for a free item. that is at any store.

      • Angelascoupons1

My Food Lion also would not take the coupon that printed out of their coupon center along with my others.  They couldn't really explain why…just said it would not work.  Did not make sense, as their coupon was NOT a MQ.

        • Alisha20

i have had their coupons from the kiosk not scan before but they should punch it in and it will take it with a manager override. That happened when they first got the kiosk so it may just be a glitch but mine all work now. I would have asked to speak to a manager. They can open another line!

      • LinMin

I had the same thing happen to me!  I was trying to buy (4) bottles of v8 Fusion and get (2) bottles of v8 Fusion+Tea for free.  I was using (2) buy 2 bottles, get a Tea free and (4) $1.50 off v8 Fusion.  I thought it would work since I had one item for every coupon I was trying to use.  The cashier scanned the (2) “buy 2 get a free tea” coupons first and then their register would take the other (4) $1.50 off coupons. When I inquired about it (first with the cashier and then with the manager) they said that the “buy 2 get a tea free” Q  required (3) bottles, so essentially the register did not recognize any more products to use the $1.50 off coupnes on.  I was so mad! I hate that FL has such a weird coupon policy and that they don't double.  I hate shopping there now.  But at the same time many of their items (for example 93% ground beef is cheaper by like .60/lb) are cheaper than Bi-Lo.  So frustrating…

        • Stacy

You probably were using to many coupons.  It depends how the Buy 2 get 1 free was coded.  More then likely is was coded to attach to all three items- which leaves no room for you to use more coupons on those items.  Rarely are those type of coupons coded to attach only to the free item.

      • Preferredcustomer9801

same thing happened to me. she wouldn't take the coupons. she kept telling me i was commiting fraud trying to use all of my coupons.  i was so upset by the time she was done explaining i just left the juice and went to stupid walmart.  I don't like walmart but at least they take my coupons without a fight.

    • I don't understand how the 50 cents off 3 chef boyrdee @ 1.00 each = 33 cents each?

    • Gabi

Found a coupon booklet from Food Lion in my mail box this morning with these store Q's: $.75/1 A1 Steak Sauce (10 oz), $1/2 Kraft BBQ Sauces (18 oz), $1 Tostitos Dip (15 oz or larger) wyb 1 Tostitos Tortilla Chips, $2 off Butchers Brand Beef wyb any Kingsford Charcoal, $1/1 any Glad product, $1/2 Hidden Valley Original Ranch products (16 oz or larger), $1/1 KC Masterpiece marinade (16 oz or larger). All of these are good through 8/30. I live in NE Cola in case anybody's wondering….

    • Varn9899

I am sorry but I really don't see any bargains since they DO NOT double coupons

      • Tedwards70

My Food Lion doubles up to $.60

        • Kimberlydiana

thats the first time ive heard they double. are you sure?

          • Melissa

My Food Lion doubles up to .60 also in Conyers, GA.

      • Abbielou02

The Arm and Hammer is a pretty good deal I think!

        • Alisha20

you can get laundry detergent at aldi for that price every day. not really worth driving to a store for one thing. they have one great deal a year it seems and that is when they do the bid deal stuff.

    • Ace_302

Here is a code to get the chef boyardee Q if you dont have one….63829897 Also, it doesnt make it .33 each, but .83

    • Ibdqt34

Does anyone know how many loads is in the Downy 41-51oz bottle? TIA!!

    • Theresalane25

where do you get the back to school breakfast booklet?

    • Kimberlydiana

food lion Q policy- Customers may not use more than (1) one coupon per item with a maximumof (10) ten coupons for the same item per customerso food lion wont let you stack store coupons with manufactor coupons?? is that what that means???

      • kp

Yep and they don't double either.

        • Tlcmoreland

My Food Lion doubles up 55 cents!

          • Caseyr1417

what FL do you go to? i wanna go

      • Audley79

i have always stacked manufactur coupons with the coupons loaded on my card.  Only on one trip my card coupons didnt come off my order, so I wrote the company on thier web site and they sent me a $10 gift card to make up for it

    • Mad Shopper

All the people who have lost Blooms and now have Food Lion should compare the ads this week.  Upstate SC reject the change!!!!  Food Lion is owned by the same company as Blooms?  Why steal from the upstate and give to others?

    • Karmah60

Have a question.  I'm in southeastern VA and I got a booklet with Food Lion coupons in the mail today.  I've never seen this before, or any FL store coupons really.  So, can these be stacked with manufacturer coupons?  It's bad enough they refuse to double, so I need a good reason to shop there instead of going down the street to another store again…stacking would be a good one.

      • Caseyr1417

if they say food lion on the coupon, they can be combined with manufacturer. food lion is just their deal and they get reimbursed for the man. coupon so this should not be an issue.

      • Squirrellyec

Most Food Lions don't stack.  Mine has allowed me to in the past though.  I would contact your local store and ask them.  You can use them at Bi-Lo or if your Publix accepts them as a competitor.  If you don't have those in your area I would check out other stores websites and see if their coupon policy states they accept competitors coupons.  Sorry, could be more helpful.

      • Littletinkerbell

they have always let me stack them

    • Proudeodwife13

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but my Food Lion has Trident Vitality Gum on sale for .89 (Clarksville,TN area) I used the $2/3 Q from SS 7/24 and got 3 packs for .67

      • Kari

Bi-lo has it for .79. So it is 3 packs for .39. Either way it is a good deal for gum.

      • Rossjulie

Either next week or the week after you can get this gum for .79/pack at Walgreens.  Use your $2/3 Q and it will be like .15/pack.

    • Robin

Just thought I'd let you know that Arm & Hammer Detergent was 2 for $5.99 at my FL in central NC.  Still got 2 with the $1/2 coupon.

    • Tmoas

Hey Guys just a quick note about my lastest trip to FL. Most of the FlL in the Charleston area have bins in front of the store marked “manager specials” I found 2 cans of Pantene Mouse and 2 cans of Pantene hairspray all marked for $2.09 I just happen to have 2 $3 off/2 products left so I got all 4 at .59 cents each. The bins have a variety of stuff in them so you have to go look at what each store has.

      • Squirrellyec

I found Ball fruit pectin for $2.23 in the bin then had a $1 off coupon.

        • Kampmeier69

My food lion won't let me use coupons on clearance.. not fair.

    • Me

A few of you mentioned getting coupons from a kiosk at Food Lion….am I missing something?  Where is it?  Free standing or are you talking about the coupons that print out as you check out at the register?

      • Airiel Wood

free standing, most likely at the entrance.

    • Leslie

I just printed a BOGO coupon from Johnsonville.  Can I use it in combo with the sale?

      • Jenhaines

I also printed the coupon but it is for 32 oz while this week's BOGO is for 16 oz.

        • Kampmeier69

I don't have the coupon machine. Asked lady didn't even know what I was talkin bout. Rude ppl there anyways.

    • Hannah W.

I am sure someone else has mentioned, but I received a “Summer Savings” coupon booklet from FL and there is a $1 off wyb 2 Kraft BBQ sauce, making it .98 for 2. That is great considering my son eats BBQ on EVERYTHING

    • Missdtea

FL has Marcal Small Steps paper towels on sale for $1.00 and 4 rolls of toilet paper for 5 for $4.00($1.25). There's a coupon in 7/31 Red Plum for $1.00 off any Marcal Small Steps.  This makes the paper towels free or toilet paper $.25.
      Happy Couponing!!!

    • karen

      Thanks Jenny

    • Christy

Can you use a B1g1 free coupon at food lion?

      • Rossjulie

        Yes.

    • otter

New to Southern Savers and just learning.  When I went to my FL they were not doing the ground beef or chicken breast sale prices.  This was also not in the sale flyer received here.  Not finding fault of thisi wonderful site, just a bit confused and wonder if I am tracking something wrong.

    • Hevans0418

Went to Food Lion for a few things and saw that the Gerber “snacks” were on sale cheaper than Walmart.  I had planned on getting them any way and had coupons so I am one happy camper!! (So is the baby)

    • Littletinkerbell

Got a johnsonville brott or patty brott bogo coupon….give the coupon first then our mvp card and paid 9 cents for 2 packs

      • Rossjulie

Did you get the ones that were pictured on the coupon or did you get the ones that are in their online ad?  I saw that coupon and thought it was a great deal, but didn't know if it would work or not.

The store brand deal is going on in my store until the middle of August (buy a certain number of store brand items, get a dollar amount coupon to use off your next grocery order). Does anyone know how this works in terms of buying more than 40 items? The ad says that the highest coupon allowed per transaction is $10 off for buying 40 items. Could I do multiple transactions in the same day (buying 40 items 3 or 4 times)? Are there stipulations in regards to using the coupon – such as using the coupon on another order of store brand items? I've been needing to stock up on pantry staples such as canned beans/tomatoes/sauce, etc. so I want to make sure I have everything planned right before going to the store. Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry if someone else has already posted this!!!  But there is a $3 off coupon for Splenda Essentials which makes the Splenda FREE!!!!  It's on sale now, but I'm not sure if this sale will end tomorrow or continue longer.

    • Although I do not like FL coupon policy, I did go on Sunday to get the arm & hammer detergent and the ground beef. Our s tore (on Pelham Rd) in Greenville, SC was having a grand openinig drawing. I filled it out and they called me Sunday night. I won a $50 gift card. I was very happy as I never win anything! :)
