some of these items are reflecting double coupons. Are they having double coupons or am i confused? for example the starkist tuna $1, coupon is $.50/1 and it says (makes it free)

      • Jilll

Most stores double coupons up to a certain amount all the time…Harris Teeter will double up to 99 cents everyday!

        • Mello4413

Gotcha Thanks so much guys! :)

      • JL

They dbl up to .99 cents as long as coupon does not state do not double

    • PattieF

Off topic a bit, but does anyone think the HT will do their Boston Butts at .88 a lb again this year? Meat prices are so high now, I'm not sure if .88 lb is a thing of the past. Thanks!

Where can I get the Capri Sun coupon?

    • Melissa

can I use 2 coupons on the BOGO deals? If so that would make really great deals!

      • Jessica's Mom

Our HT will not allow you to use 2 coupons on BOGO deals because they say that you are only paying for one item. Also, just found out this week end that they will no longer double any coupons printer off of the internet and will also no double those that state “do not double or triple”.

        • Eharris1975

Where are you located? Are all Harris Teeters going to start using this new policy?

          • kari

Im in NC and they are def starting to crack down on coupons.

        • Futureford

I think this policy depends on your store's management preference.

      • Beth M

Our HT allows 2 coupons on BOGO deals because they ring up half price not free. For B2G3 deals, you can only use two coupons though.

      • Many stores will not let you, there is a quick and easy solution though… have them scan your card after your coupons. You will need to watch to make sure your coupons double but this will make it where the items are full price when the coupon is used and then on sale afterward.

        Or…

Split your purchases into multiple transactions. They each ring up at half price so buy your B1G1 items separately if you can.

Where can I get the Kraft Food and Family Fun Booklet?

Can you use a BOGO IP coupon for the Special K cereal? I'm wanting to know last time they told me that any Free IP Coupon isn't accept even though if it's BOGO :(

      • that coupon is most likely not going to be accepted- it is against their coupon policy.

      • RebeccaFer

BOGO IP qs are not accepted per HT's policy. Sad but true and understandable since there are too many fraud coupon for free items that they felt it necessary to ban all free item qs, including BOGOs. :( You can use BOGO qs from the paper's inserts though.

      • crewell722

I recently used a BOGO IP for Healthy Balance juice when it was buy 2 get 3. It beeped, but the manager put it through. :) So I paid for 1 and got 4 free!

    • Ougirl822

Does anyone know a zip code to find the Maxwell House Coupons $1 off. Thanks in advance :)

      • Nita Royal

Mine worked (27804), but warning that it's for a special variety “Daily Blend”, that my store doesn't carry.

        • crewell722

You should be able to use it on any Maxwell House….

    • Pottsat

I am confused on the buy 5 prom? Can someone explain.

      • You buy 5 of those items and you only pay $2 each- but if you buy less than 5 you have to pay regular price.

        • Deb

I believe it's even better than that. If you buy 5 they're $1.60 each making it 5 for $8, but if you but fewer than 5 it's $2 each. That's how it shows up on my Express Lane anyway, but I may have misunderstood.

          • taylor27

So can I use coupons in addition to this? Do they ring up as $1.60 each and we use coupons on top of that?

            • Deb

Honestly I haven't tried it yet, but yes, you should be able to use coupons. Just watch the computer closely, since it won't know you bought 5 until all 5 are scanned, so they will likely ring up as $2 each and then $2 off (or .40 off each) will come off at the end or something similar. Then hand them your coupons at after it's adjusted and subtotaled just like normal.

            • Deb

Sorry for the multiple replies, but I just looked in my email, and it said the deal was only good for e-vic members who received the offer in their weekly email today, and that you could only do the deal once all week. Good luck, and let me know if it works.

    • Jendeals10

Just moved to 28374 and am going to give HT in Aberdeen/Southern Pines a try, though I have left behind my beloved awesomely coupon friendly Publix in Georgia—does anyone shop at this HT and how coupon friendly are they?

      • T Willis

I shop here and am also looking forward to the one in Whispering Pines opening soon. This HT depends on which cashier you get. I have had a horrible experience and a great one. The ones who tend to give you a hard time are the older ladies. There is a great SA who is middle aged with dark curly long hair who is very friendly and as long as it scans she is good with it.

      • Emily

I have been in there once but have not couponed there…although everything in that area is pretty much guarenteed to be pretty nice, being that it is on the nicer part of Fayettevilles. I shop Fayettvilles and they are coupon friendly…they pretty much have to be since the advertise to couponers with the doubling of coupons…they also have a lowes a couple blocks from the harris teeter there which is also a good coupon store which you can find the deals for that store on this site also.

      • MEC

I find them very coupon friendly, Mine rarely beep and they are great with rain checks. I really like most of the customer service reps. If there is a problem, Please go to the desk and tell them. I have had great results from this.

      • Fabulous Deals

I love the Harris Teeter in Southern Pines/Aberdeen. They have excellent customer service as well as cashiers. Some of the cashiers are couponers and even give me great ideas on items I was missing in my cart that were super deals. The stockers are usually very nice too. I have asked them on several occassions to check to see if they have items in the back and they always check.

    • Renee

Where do you get these Maxwell House and Kraft Food and Family booklets???

      • Bev B

These coupons books were in Bi-Lo back in January. I'm not sure if they still have some left though.

    • Amgtt_18

I was reading the coupon policy for Harris Teeter. It states they will not use two coupons per B1G1. Do stores follow this policy? Because a lot of this week's deals seem to be with two coupons on B1G1 items! Plus I read someone was having trouble getting them to double internet coupons. I live in Charlotte. Anyone know how this stands in Charlotte? Thanks

      • Renee

Not sure how much this helps because I was at the Fuquay Varina HT but last Saturday i bought the Sister Shubert yeast rolls that were B1G1. The regular price was $3.99 so $3.99 for two made them ring up $1.98 each. I used two $0.50/1 coupon from last Sunday's paper…that doubled to $1.00/1 making them $0.98 each! BTW, I am new to couponing so I called the store in advance to ask how this scenerio would work and was told they DO NOT ring up at half price and that you could only use ONE coupon on the B1G1 but that was not in fact how it turned out for me! Hope this helps.

        • Amgtt_18

Thanks! I am new to this also and I am having a hard time getting it. Each store is so different. I was just hoping someone from the Charlotte area might have a good idea of how it works. Or which Harris Teeter is the easiest to coupon with around here. Thanks for your input!

          • Jessdare101

I'm in your area and my store used to be extremely coupon friendly but recently has tightened up on the policy. I had trouble trying to use an ?/2 coupon on B1G1 items and also using 2 coupon on B1G1. I will say this the weekend cashiers are alot more coupon friendly at my store and don't analyze the coupons quite as bad.

          • LeAnnaq

Here is what I do…if you are buying b1g1…buy two different kinds if you can. On soup-two different ones. For instance…I had a $1/4 soups one time. They were b1g1. I just bought 4 different soups. No beeps!. If you have a q that is $/1 then only buy one at a time…or say ring this other one up differenet! Does that make sense?

          • Junkfromvendors

I live in Charlotte. It really comes down to the cashier to enforce the rules. Some do and some don't. In other words, I don't believe the “system” will kick it out. Basically the rules state, “We accept only one coupon for Buy One Get One Free items.” Unfortunately, this is vague. I've had some store managers be very strict with the interpretation that you can only use ONE B1G1 coupon per visit. Others allow you to use multiple B1G1 as long as the products you are purchasing are different.

Here's another rule that I get hit with – “We gladly accept internet manufacturer’s coupons for product; however no “free” product internet coupons are accepted.” So you can't use Internet-printed coupons that are B1G1 or B2G1, etc.

            • Neharris38

Actually, you can use a B1G1 internet coupon. It just cannot be an internet coupons that says “Get XXX free.” Basically, the free item has to be contingent on buying something else for them to accept it. The cashier might be confused and not want to take the coupon, but each time I have had a B1G1 internet coupon, the managers are great at letting the cashiers know the difference.

          • Bev B

Hi there–I'm in Charlotte too. I live in North Charlotte (University City area), and there are three HT stores within about 5 miles of each other. I definitely have my favorite of the three. The store on Prosperity Church Rd (Highland Creek shopping center) is the most coupon friendly of the three. I LOVE that store! Everyone is friendly and helpful, and they don't tend to mind using coupons on B1G1. The stores on Mallard Creek Rd and WT Harris Blvd are both OK, but I have had issues with specific cashiers or customer service in both of these stores where they have not been quite as helpful, so I will always drive out of my way to give my business to the Prosperity Church Rd store. I love, love, love this store!!!

      • Catie Cat

I'm in Mt. Pleasant, SC and my HT has always let me use 2 coupons when an item is B1G1 since in most cases the item rings at half price. Just to be sure they haven't changed their policy recently, I think I'm going to test it out on an item tomorrow thats B1G1 and use 2 coupons. I'd rather find out earlier rather than during my big shopping trip on Sunday and cause a commotion with coupons I can't use.

        • EMorini

Depends on which HT in Mt Pleasant that you go to; both Houston N'cut and Longpoint do not let me use 2 coupons on B1G1. Two new HTs (rt17 & rt41) allow it…. go figure

      • According to the official policy it is 1 coupon per BOGO pair. So technically they have no ground to stand on when it comes to using a $$/off2 Q. I am only using 1 coupon per pair. Some cashiers are sticklers and others don't understand the policy. If I am buying something that was BOGO and I have $/off1 Q I might break it into several transactions so I am not breaking any rules or attracting any suspicions.

Remember the BOGO sales change weekly so that means that the cashier is also responsible to know what in my cart were BOGO items and then to remember to police the coupons. What I have found is that most part time cashiers don't follow the ever changing weekly sales well enough to police this policy. This is where it can really pay off to be really nice to the part time evening cashiers that are frequently high school & college kids. I AM NOT SAYING cheat or break the rules, just sometimes picking the right cashier can make or break the deal! I know most of my cashiers and I am always really nice and chat with them a little bit. My cashiers don't dread seeing me show up with my coupons b/c 99% of the time I am not trying to break the rules. But when I do want need help getting something extra that might be considered by some as bending the rules (like picking a few things up for elderly friend and using her card) they are very helpful.

As far as the internet Q not doubling if it states DND or DNT the store reserves the right to pull those out and ring them up separately. Also when you look at the bar code if it starts with a 5 it will double/triple regardless of what it says. If it starts with a 9 it will not double- most blinkies @ HT start with a 9; and so do the Catalina coupons that print out.

It could be your store. Some stores are more coupon friendly than others. Maybe try a different store and see if it is better. I live in GSO and there are about 6 HT within 30 minutes of my house. (I already have to drive 20 minutes to my normal store.)

        • Jenn33692003

Which GSO store do you find to be the friendliest? I refuse to shop at the W. Market St. store anymore. Everyone but the dairy guy is rude!!!!!!

          • Justin

true that….i like the one on north elm…its probably the best in GSO

          • My absolute favorite is probably the smallest of all- Adam's Farm & MacKay Dr.
Most of the cashiers are great a few even know me by name. That being said there is a white shirt lady with blonde hair works days & weekends and I will do anything to avoid shopping during the day. She has gotten better, after I called corporate for clarification on this exact BOGO & Q issue. She said I couldn't use a $/off 2 Q on BOGO items. Corporate never really addressed the exact problem, but said it was up to each manager. When it was all said & done the manager was VERY confused and is basically of the opinion if the register lets it go through the staff will too!

I live on the south side of town near Pleasant Garden/Forrest Oaks so it is the closest to me. If I need to go to a larger store with more selection I will go to
Skeet Club and just look for younger cashiers. It has been hit or miss with Friendly pulling out DND/DNT coupons once again I look for young cashiers or cashiers that look over worked and ready to leave! Then I make sure I am extra nice for their time and help.

I have definitely found that I get more flies with honey than vinegar!

    • Julie

The $1.50 off Cottenelle coupon link is for a store coupon only good at Alberstons and not Harris Teeter (their policy specifically states no internet coupons from competitors). :(

    • Nita Royal

In the lead paragraph, what “online system” is being referred to?

      • Meredith

She is refering to Harris Teeters online “express lane”, which is usually used for people who shop online and pick up at the store. It’s a great tool to use though when looking up item prices at your local Teeter. http://www.harristeeter.com/shopping/express_lane/express_lane.aspx

      • Paige

You can go on their website and then say you want to use the Express Lane (where they get the groceries for you and you pick them up). Then you can look up specific items and what their prices are.

    • Nicole

Just wanted to update a few couponers in Hendersonville, NC I was at HT this weekend and they said they will be doing Triple coupons (up to 0.98 cents) at the Harris teeter in Hendersonville (off Spartanburg Hwy). I know it is very store specific but wanted to let you guys know.

      • Bbj1969

thanks for letting me know! I live here.
Someone told me, it was super doubles…. Now, I am not sure what to put together:o)

        • Nicole

yep sorry it is Super Doubles again this week! I went to check it out today.

      • JL

The ad in the paper this morning says Super Doubles. Even so, it's awesome!

    • Mindy

I just printed the $1.50 Cottonelle coupon. It's actually a STORE coupon good for Albertsons, Jewel, etc. Not stores we have here. Rats!

      • smwood85

I tried it at HT, not realizing it was for certain stores and it would not ring up. Oh well.

      • jjtowle

Mine did not ring either …

    • Gabrielle

thanks for the list, Jenny! just a heads up for some folks: For the popcorn coupon wyb sodas you get popcorn, that was a food lion coupon. Also the cheerios coupon says do not double, but starts with a 5.

      • css03

There is a Cheerios coupon on Target's website that will does not say DND. It pictures chocolate and apple cinnamon, but states that it can be used for frosted ones.

    • leigh

anyone know if the Kozy Shack pudding can be frozen?

    • What's a good price for strawberries? They are $1.99 at Lowe's Foods this week. Will it go lower in the next few months? I'm waiting for the best price to stock up and freeze a bunch!

      • Strawberries aren't in season until early-mid May. If there is a strawberry farm near you and you have the time & freezer space you can pick yourself. It makes for a fun trip for the kids! Last year we paid $1.10lb. About the same time the stores were averaging $1.50 or so. I live in GSO, NC if that helps you compare prices. Strawberries don't usually get cheaper than $2 or $2.50 once summer is over and they are being shipped further.
If you really want strawberries buy them, but maybe just buy enough to last a few weeks. Frozen strawberries can also be a good and cheaper alternative during the off season. There are frequently sales & q for frozen fruit.

        • crewell722

I'm in Winston-Salem. Where do you go to pick strawberries?

          • I’m in southern Guilford County..well almost Randolph County and our favorite place is Whitaker farms. Here is a great website for find local farms for picking produce.
            http://www.pickyourown.org/NCpiedmont.htm

            • tsmayol

Thanks for the info!! Just moved to the Winston Salem area from Wilmington where we had great strawberry farms.

          • Busycarebear

There is another farm called the Clod Buster Farms that have strawberries off of Union Cross and the 109 area

        • jjtowle

Strawberries are in season in Plant City, FL. The one from Aldi come from there …

      • Tracy_fatboy

        ALDI's has them for .99

      • couponmomsc

They are $1.67 at Publix this week. They are at peak season in FL right now.

    • Specialm_specialm

does anyone know what the ht in hickory is doing this week??

      • shan

        They are doing triples!

        • Snsgates07

Yes triples, but several items on this list are not on sale or not tagged as so….ex: english muffins ,bacon, and lil smokies are NOT B1G1

    • Jonibarnwell

Where do I go to get the Hidden Valley coupon once I sign up?

      • Shell

From looking at other blogs, I think you have to post a review of a product to get it.

    • Amgtt_18

I was not going to go to Harris Teeter because I read about how strict they are getting with there coupon policy, but I decided to just try. Turns out, I am glad I did. The cashier was super sweet and didn't even mind overriding the coupon machine when it beeped for the B1G1 policy. I truly can say it depends on the cashier! :)

      • Tgriggs777

VERY TRUE!!! The cashier makes or breaks the whole deal!

    • Robynsleo

Does HT accept competitor's coupons? I have a target web coupon for Crystal Light, but wasn't sure if they accept it.

      • Proudlyamom

No, they will only take a $$ of a certain amount

    • Xraychik512

On my express lane, the McCormick seasoning packets are not BOGO =(

      • Proudlyamom

not at my store either…this week or last…

    • Amber

When I went to HT this morning, the Kozy Shack and the Peperidge Farm naturals were not on sale… any idea why they are on the list but not on sale in store?

      • Jen

I was wondering the same thing…tried to get them both and they were not on sale:(

        • Tgriggs777

They didn't have pepperidge farm naturals were not on sale here either (Mooresville, NC) and neither was the Revlon nail polish. :(

          • Tgriggs777

I just looked at my receipt and realized that the Kozy Shack wasn't on sale either! Ugh1 I can't believe I didn't catch that. I just wasted money paying $3.29 minus a 40 cent coupon that wouldn't double for an item we've never even tried. I hate it when this happens! I guess Harris Teeter sale items vary in different areas???

      • Tonit2112

They were on sale last week so I don't know if this ad just picked up some of last week's specials. I was noticing that as I went through the list that many of these deals looked like repeats.

    • Joy

Hmmm…I am figuring only 2.00 for 3 Maxwell house and 2 wheat thins if they will double the Kraft .75 coupons

      • Jennifersole

I used the kraft .75 coupons for the wheat thins/triscuits and they worked great. I had 4 of them and got these crackers for .10 each! Plus I got a capri sun for 1.60…so 2 dollars for these 5 items like you said! Great deal!

        • Joy

          Great! Thanks!

    • Twinmama

My HT sale paper says Bagel Bites (14 oz=18ct) …is your listing for $2.50 each reflecting that? My HT regular price the other week was $2.50, so this would make buying 3 at $1.66 a box. I am hoping this price has stood..if so, wooHOO for me! :) This is Shelby, NC HT.

    • CarrieM

Was not able to get the Oral B manual toothbrush for free. I was told they do not accept coupons that are greater than the products price. I haven't had this happen before!?

      • css03

I have been told that at other stores. I asked customer service at HT once and they told me that they just adjust the coupon to match the price of the item. That is what happened when I used the $2 Millstone coffee coupon. Was able to use 2 coupons for the toothbrushes today, first one went through no problem, second one beeped, but they overrided it.

      • Tgriggs777

I had the same thing happen to me this morning. The manager did an over-ride and adjusted the coupon to be 99 cents instead of $1.00 so that I wouldn't get money back. (the whole penny!)

    • Xraychik512

I don't have any coupons for the buy 5 promo, the Maxwell House coffee printable isn't there, nor the crystal light. Any ideas or other coupons? I don't have any of the booklets, how do I get those?

    • RJ

someone may have already posted about this, but there is a cookbook out there offered by Philadelphia – value is $19.99, but it is free if you buy four phily products. With the .50 off coupon the minis are just 50 cents each…I only had two of those coupons, but found a peelie I had from a past purchase for $1 off when you buy kraft and a philly cream cheese – well, Kraft is b1g1 this week…all in all, I thought it was a good deal – I did get a little surprised before they took the $19.99 off cause I didn't realize it would show up on my total. It helped my percentage off though :-) saved $36.36 and only spent $29.82…

      • RJ

It was near the dairy section, but with chips or something random…It is called “Spread a LIttle Joy” Happy hunting!

    • Proudlyamom

Good trip to HT this week. Spent $60.98 and saved $60.84. Starting to get the hang of stocking up!! :)

    • Meanddblj

I have an emailed coupon from CVS $5 of $20, will HT take this coupon??? Is CVS considered a comp?

    • Fsavage24

I have some of the $1 off log cabin coupons and $.50 off Sister Subert on ebay if you are looking for any. I have the buy it now option available and ship that day if payment is received by 2pm. I want to thank some of you for buying from me. I had a few people from NC that used my services. My user name is singlewoman26 and you can email me fsavage24@yahoo.com.If you are looking for a particular coupon that isn't listed let me know. I have lots still not listed.

    • Melemlspivey

There were quite a few deals that were not in my store and when I went to get an ad I meet another southern saver at the rack lookin up some of the same items. They were not in the weekly ad so I could not get the deals, wonder why this list and my ad were so different?

      • Kcreviews

Sometimes other regions have different sales. This happens to me sometimes, too.

    • Mvtdeal

heads up there is a bogus Cottonelle coupon for $2. I was embarrassed when I found out. Now I know check code on left bottom – this one starts with 0000.

    • Kerry72nc

I got an evic deal with my card for Kraft 12 oz slices B1G1F and there are .55/1 in the SS 2/13. What a deal!

    • mommyloveskids

I'm new to HT – do you get the eVic deals by just having the card? Thanks!

      • Stacie

register your vic card on their website and you should get the deals starting next week

      • Amy

No you have to register your card on the Harris Teeter website. You won't be able to get the deal this week but you should be able to get it on Wednesday the next sale week.

    • Jennb2005

Does anyone know what zipcode will get you the maxwell house coupon?

    • anna15nc

      @Jenny
Is there a way you can mark the unadvertised deals on your list? I don't know which ones they are… or am I missing something? I found that a few items were not the price you listed and wondered if they were the unadvertised deals… I realize it's different at every store. Thanks, Anna

    • Gtsmspar

Will HT accept a CVS coupon for $10 off $50 purchase???

      • Cole_lp

The HT in Williamsburg will accept the type of coupon you mentioned, but ask at the customer service desk. The net total (total after all coupons applied) would need to be $20.00 for them to reduce the amount to $15.00.

        • Cole_lp

Sorry, I forgot the CVS coupon amounts when I was typing. The correct response would have been “the net total (total after all coupons applied) would need to be $50.00 for them to reduce the amount to $40.00.”

    • Ann in VA

At HT in Northern Virginia, the new French's Chardonnay Dijon mustard was BOGO. The French's coupon for .50/1 SS 1/23 will make it free if your HT doubles.

      • css03

Thanks, convinced my husband to stop and pick some up today.

I have found a few deals worth mentioning. Alexia brand frozen food is on sale for 2.99 and on their website there is a $1/1 coupon, making it only $1.99 for a large bag of organic french fries.I found a .55/1 coupon for Arnold bread on coupons.com (zip 27804 if you can’t find it), and according to the HT website a lot of the varieties of this bread is on sale for $1.99 and $2.50, though I haven’t printed the coupon so I’m not sure of what variety it is good for.Mrs. T’s perogies are $2, and there is a $1/1 coupon on coupons.com and in I think the SS from the end of Febuary. Btw, are these any good? I’ve never had a perogie…

      • Eharris1975

We love perogies at this house!

      • happilysavingmoney

The Arnold bread was on sale for $1.97 there were many different varieties on sale. I got 2 of the potato bread because my family loves it. The whole wheat was also one of the varieties on sale. Have put 8 loaves in the freezer in the last 2 weeks with HT's sales, last week we put 6 of the Natures Own. Love those double q's.

How do you get the Muller's Plan on Pasta Home mailer?

      Thanks!

    • Fsavage24

I did the Coke deal on Saturday ($1.88 for a 12 pack) and sister suberts and I was at the Fuquay Marina NC location (I was visiting the area I live in Raleigh) and met some really nice ladies that had their coupon binders and didn't have the sister subert's coupons. Ran to the car to share my wealth and was so nice to met them! They were from Benson NC. Love meeting other southern savers readers!

    • luv2shop

Small dog owners… my HT in Cary,NC has the small breed Iams on sale through MAY for 8.99 a bag… that is a 4 buck savings just for having the VIC card.

    • css03

There is a $.75 coupon for Nature’s Own bread under zip code 30101 at coupons.com. The Healthy Multigrain is B1G1 at my HT in VA. $.09 bread!!

    • Julz1130

On the “Buy 5 Promotion”, if you buy (5) boxes of the Velveeta mac & cheese for $8 (with your VIC card), you will get a $4 off your next purchase catalina coupon.

      • happilysavingmoney

This did not work for me, :( no $4 catalina, but it is ok the hubby and son were so happy to see me walk in with 5 boxes of Deluxe mac and cheese. Guess mac and cheese is on the menu for tomorrow night. :)

    • Linds..:)

Ok…so I would love some opinions on this topic. I just shopped at Harris Teeter yesterday and bought the Frosted Cheerios. Was checking out and the cashier refused to double my coupons because they said “do not double” on the top. I have never had this problem…whether the coupons have said that or not, they have always doubled. The number even started with a 5. She said that it would double if she scanned it, but since it said “do not double” she had to type it in manually. What is this?! I ended up not getting the cereal because of this. How aggravating! Any thoughts/experience?

      • Tgriggs777

I've had the same problem here in NC. I believe they are trained to read and obey the words on the coupons…in fact, I've never had an employee that doubled the ones that say “do not double”. They've always refused.

        • Kcreviews

My NC HT disregards the DND on coupons, thankfully.

      • Bev B

This tends to be store-specific. Some stores train their cashiers to pull out those coupons, and other stores let them go through. The store I shop at (Highland Creek Shopping Center in North Charlotte) NEVER pulls the DND5 coupons, they always let them double. I tend to think it's up to the discretion of the manager. It's not illegal to double them, it's just the manufacturer saying they won't reimburse for doubling (which is always the case!). So it just comes out of the store's pocket–thus up to the discretion of the manager. You could always ask to talk to the manager, but I'd just try a different store, if you don't want to make a big deal out of it.

      • Linds..:)

Thanks, ya'll, for your response! I, too, shop in NC…the Gastonia location. This isn't the first time I've shopped at this Harris Teeter, but it is the first time I have had this problem. Not to mention the cashier was extremely rude as was the manager I contacted after the fact. He said that it is their new coupon policy not to double if they indicate not to. He said some cashiers catch it and some don't. A friend of mine who shops with me checked out in another lane and had no problem.
