Harris Teeter Weekly Ad 6/24

This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure here.

These deals start Wednesday 6/24 at Harris Teeter.  This week all coupons $1.98 or less will be doubled.  Below find a reformatted list from Hot Coupon World.  Sorry, but HT and Bloom deciding to triple and double the week that we are on vacation does not make it too easy.  I started to add prices for everything but it is very late and I still have to get to Publix… so I’ll try to fill in prices later.  At least you can get the coupons.  Sorry this list is so late too, thanks to those that pulled it and stuck it in the comments a few days ago to help others out.  I know you guys like it on Monday and next time I’ll try.

Remember:
1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items, each item will ring up half price.
2. Coupons are doubled that are $1.98 or less.
3. They will double 20 coupons per day/transaction.
4. You must have a VIC card to get sale prices and for your coupons to double.
5. Most stores only allow one coupon per B1G1 deal, so only buy one per transaction if possible.

**Tip: Hand over coupons in order of value starting with .99¢ or less then give $1 and higher coupons**

Oh bless you Jenny! You’re so great!

    • nancy

Jenny please make sure you are truly enjoying your vacation. do not worry about us.

    • heather

Do you get coupon overage at Harris Teeter?

    • This is one of the easiest to follow/read sites I have come across in a while. Love it. Nicely done. Wish I lived in your area so I could take advantage of all of this wonderful information.

    • Roger

This week’s offer says Mars candy bars are buy 2, get three free, and my ad says first to at regular price. Typically, HT charges 1/2 price on BOGOs, but I’m wondering, for this offer, if the coupons from the Friday free chocolate offers can be used, and end up getting five/ten (with four coupons) candy bars completely free (except tax). Anyone know?

    • Debbie

      Roger,
The add states that you have to buy the first two at regular price in order to get the three free. However, you could use your free chocolate coupons on the two that you “buy”. Right? I have bogo coupons for Mars so I’m hoping to use one per five. What sucks is the limit is 10 so you can only do this twice.

    • Wendy

Heather, the HT in Florence, SC does not let you have the overage. They used to, but have cracked down on their coupon policy.

    • Jenn M

I agree – enjoy your vacation!

    • From my understanding, Harris Teeter does NOT give you overage for doubled/tripeled coupons. It would be nice though!! Good luck shopping ladies(and Gents)!

    • Just Moved to South Carolina

      Roger and Debbie,

Where do you find free CHOCOLATE coupons?? :)

    • Jane

At my HT, the price on DiGiorno Flatbread Pizza has been raised to $8.49 (last week it was $5.49), so the price after coupon is no longer $2.49. Sometimes I get overage on coupons. It depends on the cashier.
      Thanks, Jenny.

    • Just Moved…

Every Friday this summer, Mars is giving away free chocolate to the first 250,000 ppl to sign up each time! (although once I think it was 500,000!) You can win up to 4 times per household- I got it twice, and they came FAST! Glad I saved them to get 3 more free at HT!!

      https://secure.realchocolate.com/

    • Max

      @Roger,

My HT (in Mt. Pleasant SC) typically rings up each item, including the first and second, at the discounted price on Buy 2/Get 3 Free items. This has been my experience in the past when I scanned my VIC card first and used the self-checkout. Not sure if the explicit language in the ad would change that.

    • Hot shot coupons begin with a 9. Correct me if I am wrong, but I though coupons beginning with a 9 will not double/triple?

    • Cat

Today at the store the cashier would not honor the below coupon, saying they couldn’t apply a coupon that rang up for more than the value of the product. Oddly enough, another Pert coupon I had, for $1.00 off regular Pert (they’re all BOGO) worked with the regular bottle of Pert I bought. (Which totally negated her claim.)

      Anyone else have this problem?

Pert Plus for Men B1G1 at $3.27 ($1.63 ea)
-$1.50/1 Pert Plus for Men SS 5/3

My cashier was the customer service rep. so I didn’t ask to speak to someone in customer service. This was at the John J Delaney Harris Teeter in Charlotte. I had them remove the Pert Plus for Men from my order, and kept the coupon to try at a different HT.

    • Jan

There is also a $1.50/1 Hellman’s Mayo coupon from the “Family Is It’s Own Reward” that makes for FREE mayo if you buy the smaller jar.

    • Jan

oh yeah…the “Family Is It’s Own Reward” coupons start with a 9 and did not double automatically. The cashier did double them for me but made sure it was only up to the cost of the item. No overage.

The computer doubled all the rest but none went created an overage – I watched closely. Still lots of free and good deals for me!

    • Emily

What is up with my SmartSource insert? 99% of the time it never has the coupons listed on Southern Savers. Does anyone else who lives in Charleston have the same problem?

    • Debbie

Does anyone who lives in the Franklin/Brentwood, TN area know if Kroger is doing something to match HT’s super double? The last time HT had triples week, the Krogers nearby did too. I’m sure they probably won’t double up to $1.98 but if they doubled the $1 ones, that would be fantastic as they are usually cheaper than HT.

    • Cat

Jenny – Have you considered putting a PayPal link somewhere prominent over on the right hand side of your page?

My register receipt from this morning’s pre-work Harris Teeter run shows I saved $34.23 in coupons, and I only spent $6.30! And that’s just from my brief trip through the store, I only used 14 coupons and didn’t have the time to stay longer than 40 minutes to find 6 other deals!

I’ve been thinking, on these Super Double & Triple weeks, I’d love to “tithe” some percentage of my coupon savings over to you, as a way of thanking you for running this site. But I don’t see a PayPal link to do that.

You really ought to add one. Until then, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

    • Amy

      Emily,
Yes, I also live in Charleston and have noticed that as well. I have looked for the State (Columbia, SC) newspaper, but no luck. Do you know where to find the State newspaper in Charleston?

    • Debbie…

I stopped by the Nipper’s Corner Kroger today…and they weren’t doing anything! Doesn’t mean they won’t though! The past 2 times they’ve usually started something on Thurs, when they get wind of what HT is doing! I’m hoping they do something as well!!! :o) Usually calling doesn’t help, unless they’ve already started something! The last time I called the first day of triples and Kroger said they weren’t doing it- the next day they were!!

    • also the $1.50/1 Starbucks ice cream is still printing to make it free!

      http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qfpiaik5648339&bt=vi&o=56737&c=SB&p=GlmL5Rpg

    • Susie

The Kroger on Franklin Road in Maryland Farms isn’t doing anything either.

    • Alisha

What is the whole idea behind handing over coupons in a certain order? I’m just curious as to how this makes a huge difference. Thanks.

    • Melissa

Emily – I also live here in the Charleston area and you are not alone. Seems like some coupons are regional, but it gets so frustating looking for the coupons and then going, “That coupon is not in my insert – did I look over it?” I just go to ebay and order the ones I really need. :)

    • I was looking at the weekly specials from the HT at Amelia Island, FL and they don’t have many of the items from this post on sale.
      Does anyone know why?
Wondered if they are all different. Wanted to make a run up there about 1 1/2 hrs. away to pick up some great deals, but don’t want to waste a trip if they don’t even have what I’m wanting on sale.
Thanks to anyone in that area who has some informatin for me.

    • Melissa

I was so disappointed today I had 3 printable coupons and HT said they only accept 2 printable coupons per VIC card per day :( Is this standard? Do all of them accept a limited amount of the printed coupons?

    • Amy

Ashley – As for the HotShot coupon, I suggest putting it into the back of your stack of coupons when handing it over to the cashier. Mine didn’t double automatically either, but because the coupon doesn’t say “Do not Double” the manager just came over and overridded it like it was nothing. That’s just something to keep in mind – any coupons you’re ‘unsure’ about or any coupon that is ‘Free’, just put them in the back of the stack so that the computer doesn’t mess you up for the rest of the coupons.

Cat – I’m very suprised that your cashier even looked at any of the coupons at all. Here in Winston Salem, NC, our HT is so busy that you could hand over Chucky Cheese money and they wouldn’t notice (not that I would ever do that!!). But I used three (3) Pert Plus coupons today in the same transaction and I had absolutely no problem doing it. It truly depends on the cashiers that you get! **Next time, grab the youngest cashier that you can find, even if you have to wait in line.** I’m not trying to stereotype, but it’s true that the younger they are, the less they “care” about the coupons. They just want to move you in and out of line.

Alisha – For whatever reason when you hand over the coupons in order from least amount to greatest amount, the computer seems to want to take them better. I have only found this to be true with HT. I made the mistake of handing the load over to the cashier without any sort of order, and the computer seemed to want to beep on every coupon after about the 5th one.

Melissa – I’m not sure what the policy says, but I’ve never had a problem with the number of printables at HT.

I had a great day at HT this morning! I took my mom and my dad with me and they were in awe of my savings! I also had to get a few “non-sale” items while I was there, but the savings were still INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much Jenny! Please enjoy yourself while on vacation! I’m sure you need a “breather” right about now! lol

(Sorry for the long post – wanted to help others out any way that I could.)

    • VeronicaB

      @Emily

You’re not alone. The last two SS have been horrible.

    • VeronicaB

      @Melissa

I found out that the HT’s in Mount Pleasant will only take like 3 printables. The James Island near the connector doesn’t have this rule. I travel over there just to use all my printables.

    • Cat

@Amy: LOL at “Chucky Cheese Money”, I was surprised too!

I went to a different HT this evening by my home and cleaned up on the medical section of my coupon organizer, with Rolaids, Gold Bond, Excedrin and other coupons. This time around, I got a good kid for a cashier, and when the manager-on-duty had to check on something (my bad, I didn’t know the peelie from the Centrum couldn’t be combined with the coupon I had) I said, “I’m still learning which of these I can stack.”

He laughed and said, “I’ve been doing it for years and I’m still learning too!” Apparently he’s a super-couponer as well! The cashier said, “You’re gonna have a lot of fun this weekend!” (Alluding to the Bloom triples + HT Super Doubles.) And he said, “OH yeah I am, I can’t wait!” I made sure to tell him on the way out of the store how great it was to see a manager who didn’t glare at me for my extreme couponing habit. He laughed and said, “I love it myself!”

All told today, I spent about $25 ($6 on the first trip and $19 on the second) and saved $75 ($34 on the first trip and $41 on the second).

And I haven’t even touched the freezer/dairy/refrigerator section of my coupon organizer yet! Today I only did the medicine, hygiene/personal care, cleaners and cereals/snacks sections.

Pretty sweet! Thank you again Jenny!

    • Liz

Just got back from my Harris Teeter in northern Virginia. Saved $40. One note: I had two of the free chocolate coupons and tried to do the “buy 2 get 3 free” deal. The cashier was able to scan the first free coupon, but not the second- it kept beeping. She didn’t override the second one because it said “one coupon per purchase.” I know that could be read a couple of different ways, but since it was only 99 cents, I wasn’t going to fight it. Just a heads-up for anyone else who might encounter it.

Also, the Sure For Men had a “try me free” sticker on it (trysurefree.com) for rebate. I got it for free anyway thanks to the double coupon, but I could submit the receipt for a $2.59 moneymaker.

    • Alisha

      @Amy
Thanks for the thorough explanation as to why coupons should be handed in that order. This explains why the manager had to come over and override my coupons on last week at the newest HT on Savannah Hwy. The manager and cashiers were superb!!! FYI….I purchased some really great Gain coupons on Ebay last weekend for a very good price. They were all $2.00 off coupons..I will use them wisely!

    • nancy

Ok I have a Question. What are some of you talking about when the coupon starts with 9 it will not double. It that a golden rule to beware of the 9s. I have never checked my barcodes. do i need to.

    • Stephanie

I had a horrible experience at HT and normally I do really well and love it!
Just an FYI HT has changed their coupon policy in the Hampton Roads VA area as of June 3rd and it stinks now as they have not worked out the glitches as of yet!

Now only 2 Internet print coupons per transaction
You can only scan your VIC card 1 time within a 24hr period so make sure you get all 20 coupons on your first swip as you will not get to do multiple transactions even if they all only total 20 coupons
If you have multiple VIC cards ie: your spouse has

    • Stephanie

      finishing my note from above:
1 card and you have a different card, now they will all be linked together as 1 time use only (I learned this from personal experience today)
They no longer give overage on anything
Only 3 like coupons on 1 transaction
Now you can only use your VIC card within a 24hr period, so since I went in today at 9:34am I cannot go back until 9:35am tomorrow

Those are the few things that I experienced and had issues with today but I am sure there are more to come as time goes on.

There are some great deals to be had just be wise on which ones you pick!

    • Elizabeth

The HT on Long Pt. Rd in Mt. Pleasant didn’t have any problem with my number of internet printable coupons. Hmmmmm…..

And Morningstar Farms products were on sale for $2.49. If you missed last week’s B1G1 at Publix, this is still a great deal!

    • nancy

I have bogo mars bars. Can I use one for the Buy 2 get 3 free. I have two of these exp 6/28.

    • Holly

I had no problem using 2 FREE Mar bars Qs for the B2G3. I think she had to override it because of # of coupons per order, but she thought it was the right thing to do.

ALso many of the PertPlus for Men have try me free stickers! So MM.

Stephanie, I believe the policy is no more than 2 Internet printables for the same item! They should be accepting more than 2 per order as long as they aren’t for the same item. I would insist they call corporate on that one!

      @Amy

I emailed the State newspaper a while back, and the nearest place to purchase is Florence. Too sad!! Wish we had all the same coupons as well!

I did ok at ht today. The people were nice and it was not that busy. I did not find the Dawn soap, I had a q for 1.50 but is was specific the the kind of dish soap. I think If I can not find it tomorrow then I will try another Dawn soap and see if it works. The only thing About HT is the layout is a bit confusing. I took me 15 mins to find PButter. I did not reliese it is in the bread area which is in the produce area leading to meats. I if I knew the layout better I could be faster.

    • Jennifer

So I went to our HT today, well they now have a new coupon policy since the last triples. They will no longer except WD catalina’s from WD because they no longer consider them a competitor? Because they are not in the SAME PARKING LOT!!!!!! This is from the customer service desk. They will only except mailed competitor coupons. I think someone in mgmnt has gone crazy!!! P.S. we live in FL

    • Maggie

Cat, I saw you had trouble at the John J Delaney HT. I’ve also had issues there with people not being very nice about my coupons. I started going to the new one in Indian Land, and every one is very supportive. They’re always in awe of my savings, and therefore never mind fixing any troubles that I’ve had. So, if you’re looking for another one nearby, try IL. I’m curious as to which other HT you had such a good experience at!

Cat, I had the same problem with the Pert Plus Men coupon. Did you buy more then one Pert Plus in your order?? Technically you can only use one coupon per BOGO but my store lets me use as many as I want because they realize people just hold up the line doing separate transactions. Anyways, I bought 4 Pert Plus (one was the Mens). What happened was my $1 coupons doubled to the full $2 instead of $1.63 so my “.90 cent overage from the 3 other Qs” went to the Pert Plus for Men. When I went to hand over the Mens Q there was not $1.50 (only like .70) left on the price of the the Men’s Pert Plus to use the Q so my cashier got an error message that the price of the Q exceeded the price of the item. Does that make sense??

For others questioning the other coupon policies, it does in fact state that $$ off the order coupons from competitors have to come through direct mail so catalinas don’t count. I think it’s been this way for awhile. It does make sense if you think about it…they are trying to control loss. If they allowed internet coupons from competitors and such they could really end up with quite a profit loss and then we wouldn’t have triples and super doubles anymore :(

It’s 2 internet Qs per MANUFACTURER not transaction. You could have 20 IPS as long as they aren’t for the same type of thing! If they tell you otherwise, their confused. Just go on the HT website and read the coupon policy…maybe bring it to the store with you! Oh, and BOGO ring up at 1/2 price – if you have a free coupon they DON’T usually give you full price (so you can get 2 free) but rather 1/2 price.

Good luck all! I LOVE HT :0)

    • i think it was a way to get people in there to buy another type of hambuger or let the comsumer have a diffenrt type of hambuger fot the same price if they run out it is for the 89 cent of a lb

I just came back from HT in Brentwood TN. I had two Mars BOGO Q’s that expire on Sunday and wanted to take advantage of the store sale of buy 2 get three free. The coupon beeped so the cashier called the asst mgr over. She explained that I had to buy 2 in order to get the 3. I told her I am buying two. One with cash and one with a MQ. She called the mgr over who tells me that I have physically pay for both. I politely told her that the three free is basically like a store Q and that they allow stacking. She acted as if I were trying to steal from her and said well, I’ll override it this time but next time, you’ll have to pay for both. Again, HT is getting paid for both; one from me and one for the Manufacturer. What does it matter whose pocket it comes from as long as they get paid? Could someone give me a valid reason as to why I have to physically pay for both instead of HT getting the money from me and the Manu? I definitely don’t want to cheat HT but I honestly don’t think I did in this case.

      Debbie,

I have never shopped at the Brentwood, TN location because I always hear bad things re: coupon acceptance. I really like the 21st Ave. store because the mgrs are nice – even in explaining why they can’t do something. I would consider sending a quick email to corporate. I don’t understand why she felt okay accusing you of cheating. Just poor customer service even if she thought it she shouldn’t have said it unless she was making a formal accusation.

When they had coke products B1G1 I had a coupon for a free 12 pk. So I ended up getting both free. I thought I would have to explain, but the cashier discreetly asked mgmt and it was taken care of with no problems. I hate to say I rather go to Kroger when they match the HT coupon specials because I’m always afraid the other HT locations in Nashville will start behaving like the Brentwood folks. So far they have been really nice so I don’t even feel bad when I can’t use a coupon due to policy.

    • April

I’m in Charleston also – and the coupons almost never match up!!!

      • Jenny

Charleston Papers get a very low amount of coupons compared to the State Paper or other papers in the area. You really want to find a friend in Columbia or Charlotte if you can and get coupons sent to you.

    • Debbie

Thanks Deena, I’ll have to shop on 21st from now on. I work in Brentwood so it was just convenient to go to that one. I did want to make one thing clear though. She didn’t actually accuse me of cheating, it was just the impression that I got. I don’t need to call corporate on her but I do need to call to get them to explain why I have to purchase both with cash instead of one with cash and one with a coupon. If they can give me a valid reason, I could understand it more. It was only .79 but because I am having a candy buffet at my daughter’s wedding, every little bit helps.

    • Phillis

      Debbie and Deena

I also go to the Harris Teeters in Brentwood and their clerks have terrible attitudes toward coupons. They scrutinize every coupon that I give them. I am not giving up on the good deals though. They’ll just have to deal with it.

    • Phillis

For all you pet lovers out there I got a great deal on Purina Dog Chow today. Got the 20 lb for $4. It is on sale B1G1 and then I used a $3 off coupon making it $4 with tax. Don’t have to worry about dog food for a while. $4 is much better than $12.

    • I also shop at Brentwood HT and almost every time I go I get a different answer or am allowed to do different things! Sometimes they let me use Walgreens RR with no prob, sometimes they say no! But usually when I ask for a manager, the manager allows it. Sometimes it’s even the SAME cashier that allows something once and not another time!

I too had a prob with the Mars free chocolate coupons. I had 2 and used to as the ones I was “buying” and then got my 3 free. A manager was already at my register to help the cashier (who was new and training for a new store!) with another coupon, and she “allowed it this time” but said she wouldn’t do it again if I had any more coupons. I don’t understand either because they will get paid for the 2 I used coupons on, so it is like they were “bought.” It’s so crazy how they have different reasons every time!

I’d love to go to another one of the HT’s in Nashville, but I never head in those directions! I’ve just learned if something doesn’t work, I just come back later to a different cashier! I’ve also learned which ones to avoid if possible! I’m following by their rules, they just don’t know them half the time! Occasionally, if I discover I really am wrong, I let it slide because I do want to do the right thing! I don’t want them to stop giving me so much stuff for free!! :o)

I had a great experience at the HT on Savannah Hwy. in Charleston on Wednesday. They had Secret, Suave and Soft & Dri deodorant on sale for .94 so they were free with the $1/2 coupons I had. French’s Worcestershire Sauce had .50 off coupons on the bottles and they are on sale 3/$3 so they were free. The soda flavored ice cream toppings, AXE deodorant and body spray and reach floss were also free if you still have the coupons. Yellow Minute Rice in the cups .94, coupon was save $1/1 and Zatarains Beef flavored rice was .74, coupon was save $1/2. Sorry, I don’t know the dates.
Dentek floss picks were free. Found the coupon online.

    • qponmom

Oops. Made a mistake in the above post. It was Tag deodorant and body spray, not Axe.

    • Angel R.

Jenny says to hand over coupons in order of value starting with .99¢ or less then give $1 and higher coupons. Why is this? Pardon my ignorance …

    • Angel R.

Sorry, I just now saw Amy’s explanation above (#29). Can’t keep up with all the comments. :)

    • Angel R.

The HT in Mt. Pleasant told me the limit is 2 Internet coupons per item (not per transaction). We have shopped there almost every day during this doubling event. Hate the 20/day coupon limit!

    • For those of you like me who are frustrated over coupons not being in certain inserts, I’d like to share something. I have started compiling my own list of what is actually in the insert in my area (charleston). I take the preview list which Jenny so graciously provides and simply modify it to fit what I have. It seems to me that the coupons for the most part do come, just not at the time some are listed. I know this will help me in the future. I would be more than happy to send this list in if there is an appropriate place for it on this site and if it is needed. Thanks to all of you for your posts also. It really helps save time.

    • Oh,one more thing. I plan to keep the lists for each week at the front of my accordion folder, so I don’t actually have to spend time fumbling through the insert if the coupon is not there.

    • Cat

@Maggie, I’ve never tried the IL HT for anything but the Rx credits they did for their grand opening. The friendly store manager was at the HT @ 521 and Ardrey Kell Road, which opened up last year.

@Krista I think I get what you’re saying. I had the regular Pert Plus and then the one for menu. The regular went through w/coupon but not the Men. I’ve still got that coup. Expires tomorrow. Tried to find Pert+ yesterday at the store but they were all sold out. Maybe I’ll check tomorrow AM, hopefully they’ll have restocked.

    • Angel R.

Charleston, SC area shoppers: Beware of the HT on Longpoint Road! We’ve been in there three times during the coupon doubling event, and all three times they have made mistakes. The first time they rang up an item twice that we only bought one of, and they didn’t scan all 20 of our coupons. The second and third times, again they didn’t scan all 20 of our coupons. It’s a nightmare getting customer service there. We switched to the store on Houston Northcutt instead. Their associates are much better … no mistakes yet, and we’ve been in there just about every day!

    • Kristin

I have a question – for coupons that say buy 2 get 1.00 off – would you use two coupons, one per item?
