If you grabbed the awesome deal on the Little Step 2 Patio Set from JcPenney earlier this week JcPenney released an update on Facebook:

“We apologize for the recent incorrect pricing issue for our step2 patio and shade play set. Due to the pricing error we had an over abundance of orders placed. We will be honoring the price of $15 with a limit of one per customer until our stock has been depleted. We will be contacting all customers to inform them of their order status.”

I’m glad to see JCPenney honoring orders and congrats to those of you who got a great deal!  Be on the look out for your order status update and hopefully they will have enough stock for most people to get one.

      Oooo…  My credit card hasn’t been charged yet, but it says “Pending Shipment” on my status update!  I hope I got it.  My kids will LOVE it!  :)  And good for them for honoring the mistake!

      I ordered 2, but only really wanted 1 for my kids.  I figured at that price it would make a great b-day gift for a friend’s child or I could leave it at the grandparents.  I will be satisfied with the 1. Thanks for the update!

        MIne was charge the day after I placed the order. Jan 2 ( i think) But today I got an email telling me I would Not be recieving merchandise.

      I called JCPenny yesterday because I could not find my order confirmation email. The rep said your credit card will not be charged until the item ships. She said the patio set is coming straight from the warehouse so could take 3 weeks from purchase date to receive the product. She also said they are honoring one per customer until they have run out. They had to work a deal out with the supplier and this was the best they could do. Hope that helps anyone that still has a question.

      My CC is still showing the temp authorization (in the amount of $49.71 for a total of 3 sets) that was run at the time I placed the order on Mon, Jan 2, 2012 at ~9 PM CST. The temp authorization is not an actual charge to your card; it merely places a “hold” on your card & verifies that the funds are available. They indicate that the “actual” charge won’t be posted/pushed through until the item ships. The order status still shows it’s for a total of 3 with an estimated “Factory Ship” date of 1/10/12. I would certainly be happy to make the cut for 1 & appreciate JCP honoring their error. I’ve have never been let down by them even after being a long time customer for many years. Fingers crossed…………. :)

      I’m going to “like” them on Facebook and tell them how commendable that is.  I know they’re taking a big hit to do the right thing.

      I will JCP on the back when they actually follow through with this promise. As of right now all they have done is update their status via FB. It’s been how many days? If they have worked out a deal with the company who makes/ships this item they should have already said something to all of their customers who have been waiting to find out the status of this whole ordeal.

      I don’t understand why people are so unnerved about not getting an email saying they are getting there Item. and JCP HAS MY MONEY AND I NEED MY MONEY stuff. They don’t need to say anything to you personally. Matter of fact take it as a good sign. There is no need for concern until after you are supposed to get your item and then don’t. Just like every other order. If you ordered one you were going to lose your money and get your item shipped on the 10th when you ordered the Item so why do you need you money. If you need your money that bad then you shouldnt have spent your money.

      I hope I made the cut for this too.  If not I will be ok with it because JCP is trying to honor what they can.  JCP has put out updates on facebook too.  I had a similar issue last year with Office Depot.  They cancelled my order due to their mistake, I did not get an email or a call saying they cancelled my order.  When when everyone was complaining on their FB page, instead of doing the right thing, Office depot DELETED any negative comments off their page.  How is that for bad business?  I eventually got a call and a gift card but only after I contacted the BBB.  So after this mess I am completely happy with the answers I am getting from JCP.  They may not honor everyones order but at least they are trying to do the right thing.  My hats off to them!

      I got an email tonight saying I would  not get  my step 2 and an apology and a $50 OFF OF $50 online coupon. Woohoo Jcpenney has my lifelong devotion!

      I got the email this evening offering the $50 off $50. NOT what I was hoping for….. NOT a JCPenny shopper. Rare;y do I find a deal with them that makes me reconsider….. I’d prefer a refund, but that’s not an option. But cudos to JCP for trying to make good.
      And as I read through the posts to see what others have heard I see people commenting on ordering 2,3,more… no wonder the rest of us can’t get 1.

        A refund is definitely an option.  If you paid for an item you did not receive, you can either get them to credit it back or dispute it with your credit card if all else fails.  Did the store tell you otherwise?

      I’m happy with JCP’s offer.  We’re basically getting $50 of merchandise for FREE.  Sounds like a better deal than shelling out the $19.86 if you ask me. :)  I would have liked the patio set, but there will always be other toy deals.

      OK I checked my bank account & it was never deducted from it so that’s good then I ordered a Columbia jacket, 2 Columbia stocking hats, & 2 pair of sweat pants and only had to pay $8.34 after $50 off!!

      I just spoke with a JcPenney Rep on the phone. I was told I will be getting a full refund for the patio set. She said I will get the refund in addition to the $50. off $50. code. Sweet!

      My transaction never went past the pending stage.  It was never taken out and I still got the email.  I’m excited.  Its good through April so I can use it to get my kids Easter outfits or start their summer wardrobe!  …or maybe me some shoes!

      I was one of “the ones” that order 2…but I would’ve ordered two of anything because I have FOUR kids.  The rep told me that some people were ordering 10-15 sets.  **I did receive a refund PLUS the $50 credit.***  It worked out for me because Carter’s was having a GREAT deal on fall clothes.

      I didn’t see this update until searching for it just now. Not only did I not get an email from JCP, but the CSR I just got off the phone with made no metion whatsoever about me getting any kind of credit other than the $20 I paid. Until 2 days ago my order status was “scheduled to ship 1-10-12”, as of today it says cancelled. I am not a happy camper. Let’s hope they at least offer this credit to everyone. This is really a bummer, I had only ordered one, and I was so excited about getting it for my best freind’s twins.

      I just got an email stating my order will not be shipped. Their is no mention whatsoever about a credit of $ 50 though. It states I will receive a refund of the amount I paid. Did your credit come in the same email?

          Exactly. I waited from Jan 02 til Jan 13th, and NOW it’s cancelled. It showed ship date of 10th, so I called on 11th and they said there was no problem, I would get my order shipped on 13th. Instead, I get the email of cancellation on 13th. I’ve had this account since I was 21 – that’s about 43 years.

            I also got this same message.  I also called Wednesday and was told my order would ship on the 13th and was not told it would be cancelled.  I think this was their way of trying to get over on us once again.

      If you did not get the $50 promo code, check your SPAM email. Mine has been there since Jan 9th, but I didn’t know. JCP told me on the 11th, that my order was still fine.
      Buy something from JCP once in a while. A few months ago, I bought my wife a 13 pc stainless steel copper-bottom set of pots and pans for $135 (orig $359). Hope you don’t lose your local JCP, like we just lost ours. We are also losing our Sears next month or so.

      i got the email that said my order was cancelled and no mention of the 50. so i emailed them and a rep emailed me and said they sent some by airmail as well as email and should expect one or the other by 1/20
