Here are all the deals at the office supply stores for the week of 10/16-10/22. Who can pass up free batteries? There are also lots of (not FREE) but really good prices on labels this week, which would also be great for the holidays. Oh, and don’t miss 2 cases of paper for a penny each – that should last a while even if you print lots of coupons!

If you find any other deals or $/$$ coupons, leave a note and I’ll add them in.

The only possible issue here is that, from what I understand, Staples rewards are pro-rated according to how much you paid.  I’m not sure how that works – whether the $5 discount would be applied to one item (if so, it may be put on only the largest purchase, but if you get a choice then have it on the paper!) or if it would be prorated among the three, which would cause you to get about $3 less in rewards.  If you try this, could you let us know how it is applied?

        • Ctrinkle

It is prorated across all items so that you will only get back the rewards of the prorated amount.  And if you do one of the ink deals where you buy $50 in ink and get $6 on your recycled cartridges they prorate the ink purchase so you may not qualify for the $50 purchase amount and just get the regular $2 per cartridge.  Found that out the hard way!

      • Ballews

I wanted to remind you that you can use the $5/$25 coupon at any office supply store. You might want to use it at Office Max towards their paper sale!

      • blessedinsc

Also remember that you don’t actually get money back.  You have to spend the money at Staples so unless the deal is really good, you are paying a high price just to get it back and have to use it again at Staples. You are spending money that you aren’t going to get back. If you need the item and its a good price then its a good deal.  Otherwise, its not as good as it seems.  I used to get sucked in to those deals myself…  If its a true 100% rebate, then that’s a good deal because you get all your money back.

    • Rach3lbu11man

Ok. So, last week I went in and earned $10.27 in Rewards at Staples.  Can I use them this week to buy things (except for other things that give rewards)?  Like the paper and then buy the batteries?  Could I do it in the same transaction or will that mess up my rewards from the batteries?  New to Staples!

      • Rach3lbu11man

Ok I just checked my rewards and they are not posted for what I just bought last week does it take all month for it to post?  I am so confused!

        • Guest

Staples rewards are quaterly, I believe. I think what you bought last week should post by December.

          • Rach3lbu11man

ok so I can’t use it until then??  or it just will not post until then?

            • Sis2

Can’t use them until they are posted and that is quarterly.

        • Meg

Check you benefits online.  They only disperse their reward once a quarter. You must earn at least $10 a quarter or they expire.

I do use their rebates often and that has been super easy.  Take 6 weeks to get – but a pretty painless process.

    • Who has the best printing prices out of the office supply stores?  I will need to be printing designs onto premade blank cards.

      • Christa

The other day Jenney posted a $10 off $10 coupon for printing at Office Depot – but you could probably use it at any of the 3 stores.  HTH

    • Janice

I know this is next weeks ad, but if you need a laptop RIGHT NOW like me, office Depot has an a sale ending today  (10/15) on HP g4-1107nr-B 14″ with a backpack and mouse included for $399. Perfect for my highschoolers last minute bday gift.

I have an Office max reward card for $42 that I earned on the last copy paper promotion.  If I use that to purchase the $42.99 deal this week, will I still receive the $42.98 reward?

      • Steph_rnld

        Yes!  More free paper! :)

        • Anonymous

What is my rewards card has more then $42 on it?  Will I still get the 100% back? Thought I read somewhere about someone always making sure they were over the amount of their rewards to ensure the new rewards.
          Thanks,
          Joyce

I just called the customer service and she said i would for sure get the 42.98 back! yay!

    • Guest

I have a $5 off purchase of $25 or more at Staples-if I use this will I still get Staples Rewards on the batteries?

      • Denise

Me too! plus I used 2 battery Q’s so we’ll see.  Also my batteries were only $9.99 so I threw in some paper.

I’m new to Max Perks, but decided to try it a few months ago for something I needed. My Max Perks account online shows I have ~$60 from purchasing binders a while back…they were a bonus 100% back…I thought I read somewhere when I signed up that you could only earn $70 back a year…is that just the $10 rewards for every $75 you spend or is it $70 total? Also do you have to spend the whole reward at once or can I just spend part of it? Thinking about buying the ream of paper and donating it to my church…

      • Brooke

Just checked the program details again…it says earn $10 for every $75 spent, up to $100 a calendar year for teacher members…so do bonus rewards count towards the $100 reward limit?

        • Kelleyharold

I don’t think so.  I have almost $300 in rewards in my account right now!

    • Triplettk

I know that I read on this blog (maybe in the comments) that you could use rewards to buy gift cards at (at least) one of the office stores.  Now that I have accumulated all kinds of rewards from back to school season thinking that I can turn them in to Christmas gift cards, I have read clearly on all three (Office Depot, Office Max and Staples) websites that rewards cannot be used for gift cards.  Am I dreaming that people said you could buy gift cards with them?  I guess I should’ve checked it out better for myself. : (

I have repeatedly used Office Max’s Max Perks Rewards to buy gift cards to other retailers (restaurants, home improvement stores, iTunes, etc.).  When it says “gift cards” on their terms, it means Office Max gift cards.  At least that is how it has always been in the past.  I hope it continues because I have almost $300 in rewards that I need to spend in the next couple months!

    • moneysaved4disney

I have $20 on my rewards card for turning in printer ink. How does it work? Do I hand them the card for payment? Is it like I was reading below and posts quarterly or right away? I am hoping to apply it towards a cheap laptop for my daughter for Christmas. My husband’s company pays for our paper and ink so it is essentially free money. Hoping to save up some more btwn now and Christmas.

I just went to Staples and purchased the Avery 5160 100 sheets address labels. Regular price is $25.99. I had a 50% off coupon and an additional $8 mail-in rebate bringing it down to $5 plus tax. This is 3000 labels. It’s not often I find deals like this.

    • Guest

I just tried to purchase ink with the SAVEATHON promotional code and it didn’t work.  Has anyone had any luck with this?

      • Kidada

I just used the saveathon code and it worked for me. Purchased the 2 cases of paper and it gave me around $25 off. Just used it less than a minute ago. Make sure you use all caps.

    • Kidada

Possible MONEYMAKER??? I just purchased the case of paper at Office max (2 of them) and entered the SAVEATHON coupon code. It gave me 20% off (around $25 off). So I paid a total of $74. Will it still reimburse me the full 42.99 for each case, or the discounted price?

I just did the Office Max Paper Deal online and went through Shop at Home.  So….I should get another 4% back. woohoo!
