Here are the deals that are in the New Green Advantage Buy Flyer at Publix, “Great deals for Dad”. It seems to be headache medicine for Dad and lots of things for his wife…  These deals will run all month at Publix.  Remember that there will be better weeks for some deals when the products go on sale, so don’t run out and grab it all now. Also please remember that most of the items are not ever going to be there best price at a grocery store.

For the rest of the weekly Deals at Publix go here.

Update: Why these are matched with manufacturer coupons…  The words on the coupons do state that they cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupon.  However stores that have managers that understand coupon redemption generally still allow you to stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons.  Why?  Because they know that they will still get fully reimbursed for the manufacturer coupon.  Why did Publix change the wording a few months ago?  Your guess is as good as mine.  If you have questions about redemption and store coupons check out the life cycle of a couponIf your store does not allow it, feel free to ask them why if you like and then quietly accept it and hope they realize differently later.

In our CVS, there were Neutrogena pamphlets that included $2 off suncare products. I think they can be stacked with the Advantage Buy.

    • Katherine

I thought ths same thing and grabbed 3 coupons at CVS yesterday!! I am SO glad the free tweezers are back!! Sad that the $1 off manu coupon for beauty tools expired 5/26.

    • Tammy C.

The coupons in my flyer state “Limit one coupon per purchase. Customer is responsible for all applicable taxes. MAY NOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER COUPON. Not to exceed purchase price.” Wouldn’t this mean that it cannot be stacked with MQ’s?

    • dawn

When I try to print the coppertone coupon it does not print the bar code. Any ideas? The rest of it prints.

    • Elizabeth

I’m just wondering if anyone in the Marietta/Kennesaw, GA area has had any luck using Publix coupons w/ MFCs?

    • janet

I WISH we had a store like this in the Houston area!!!

    • Ashley in FL

They also have ACT Restoring or Total Care Mouthwash (33.8 oz) for $4.99. In Sunday’s paper (5/31), there was a q for $2 off the large size, and $1 off the smaller size. The Publix deal is better than what I have been able to get at CVS/Wags (their price is about $8). This week, CVS has a deal for the 18 oz size for $4.29/1 ECB ($2.29 with ECB and manf q).

    • Melissa

      Elizabeth,
I live in the Marietta/Kennesaw area, and have had no problem using a publix coupon and manufacturer coupon together. Today I bought some tweezers with the $2 and the $1. I was hoping to get a little overage, because the tweezers were only $2.49, but the cashier would only give me the value I paid….which was fine, I just wished I could have had a little extra off. :-)
I always go to the one on Shallowford and Sandy Plains.
      Hope that helps…..

    • Stephanie H.

Target has a coupon for $2/1 Schick Quattro for Women at http://www.hotcouponworld.com

    • Katherine

I have gone to the Lost Mountain Publix in Marietta (Powder Springs?)and the Seven Hills Publix in Acworth with no issue using both a manufacturers coupon and publix coupon. I usually hand over my coupons in order of free items first because they have to look back through the system to find the $, then all store and competitor coupons because they have to manually enter them into the system, then the manu coupons because they should all scan. It makes the process a bit faster because I have put the coupons that require the most work on the cashier’s part first.

    • Elizabeth

      Melissa and Katherine-

Thanks! I have tried it at other Publix stores and been turned down, but I usually shop at the Publix on Sandy Plains, close to I-75. They are REALLY great about coupons. The cashier was concerned about overage on some of my coupons, and the store manager said overage was fine, and he also told them that using a competitor and a MFC on one item was fine. I just called the store, and they told me that they will take a Publix and MFC on one item. I just hate going into the store and being treated like I’m trying to get away with something I shouldn’t be doing, LOL. It seems like most of the Marietta Publix stores are pretty coupon friendly, though. I will try putting the coupons in order to see if that helps the cashier.

    • Jason

There is also a sundown $1 printable at coupons.com

    • Angela W

      Deals for Dad?
Where’s the beer and pretzel Q’s???
      LoL

    • Amanda

My Publix would not take the Coopertone Q because they couldn’t get it to scan. So I returned it. Anyone used theirs yet?

    • Wende

The Publix Management in the Peachtree City, GA area has also stated that the green Publix LU coupons may NOT be used with a manufacturer coupon or any other coupons any longer if it specifically says so on it. This started back in May. If the cashier does do it, it may come back to haunt everyone else later.

We have a Kroger Store that stopped taking any competitors coupons on Saturday due to all the people who were using coupons incorrectly – not abiding by the limits etc.. so now we can no longer use any competitors and there was GREAT savings with the Kroger allowing us to use them. They were the ONLY Kroger in the area to take competitors and the store management was very upset at having to stop taking these.

Please let’s remember to use them as indicated and be blessed by what we are saving. A few extra cents here & there may lead to nothing in the future. I also have difficulty looking at the “whole picture” sometimes, but already in the last few months I have seen many stores tighten up their policies, in part because people are using coupons against what the requirements are on the coupons.

Just because the cashier “misses it” does not make it right.

    • Wende, I don’t necessarily think that the stores are “cracking down” because more people are abusing the coupons- it’s just that more people are using coupons period. :) It’s a good thing, but also makes stores more aware of the extreme couponing practice and they start looking at all the nitty gritty details, rather than just thinking, well, it’s just one person, so no big deal to let them do xyz. kwim?

    • Wende

      Brandy,

The Kroger store in our area did stop specifically because people were abusing the way coupons were used and the management in Kroger told several of us that in person. Unfortunately it was a combination of a problem as when I for instance asked the cashier “I have more than 1 coupon should I do more than one transaction” they told me “No,” but management found out and this did cause a part of the problem. It was mostly over Food Lion coupons gotten from Southern Savers that the Kroger Management said were NOT intended to use 4 in one transaction, which they are completely correct in saying this. So, this particular store – DID stop allowing competitors coupons specifically because of the people who used them incorrectly. Apparently they lost a lot of money over Edy’s ice-cream due to people using numerous coupons when it said Limit 1 (and the cashiers allowed this). They were the only Kroger in our area to allow competitors and now they don’t.

I only point this out so people are aware that stores do apparently keep track of the coupons used incorrectly and it can cause problems in the future if this is done. I am not fussing at anyone, just wanted everyone to learn from what happened in our area this last week.

    • Mina

Wende, I appreciate your input on that. I think we need to treat the stores well that treat us well. Every time people misuse coupons/checks/credit it hurts us all. I don’t think that people who do things like using multiple q’s that are limited to one per day realize that they may be saving a few bucks on that single purchase, but will winding up cutting themselves and everyone else off for the long run. Shady dealings of a minority harm everyone.

Jenny, I laughed at your first line because it reflected how I felt about the ad. I HOPE the items in there aren’t REALLY what Dad wants.

    • Melissa

I didn’t even realize that the green advantage coupons said not to use them in conjunction with any other coupon. My cashier did take them both, but adjsuted the price so there was no overage.

I will definately make sure to be using the coupons correctly in the future. Opps…..

    • Em

It is sad that there are people abusing the couponing, but I appreciate that everyone here advocates using the ethically. I think that is really the only way we can continue to expect to get such wonderful savings – and pray that the few bad apples don’t spoil it for everybody!

I try to be really concious of using my coupons correctly but maximizing my savings at the same time. I really hate it when I get looked at like I’m trying to scam the store or something.

Last night in Publix my sweet cashier scanned all my coupons and realized I had $5/30 coupon stuck in the bottom where they usually take it off first. By then my total had gone down from $31+ to $11 because of the coupons already scanned. She waved the manager over for help inputting the $5 coupon and he gave me this terrible look when he saw how much my total had already gone down. He started to look through all the coupons that had already been scanned but the cashier assured him nicely she had already checked them all. He went ahead and put the coupon through but I left leaving feeling like I had committed a crime or something from the way he looked at me! I need to get over that, I guess!

    • I go to the Publix on Piedmont and Delk Road and use both mq and store. The cashiers never even blink. As you start out you will get to know who is friendly with coupons and which cashiers are not (not sure why, maybe some people are fraudulent?) Anyways, MQ and Stores coupons are acceptable. If you read hotcouponworld, they talk about it all the time. It has said that on the coupons for over a year now, and I have never never had issues with it.. Now some cashiers might reduce the coupon so that there is no overage, which is fine by me. I never expect it. Free is a great price!

    • Katie F.

      Em,
I know how you feel. The cus.serv. guy at one of the Publix in Columbia made me feel the same way about trying to stack some coupons. I called corporate about it and they were very supportive of me stacking as long as the coups. say you can. The cust. serv. guy at the store kept saying, “you can only use one vendor coupon on each item” thinking the competitor coups were “vendor” coups but they were not. Never hesitate to nicely call their corporate office and offer your opinions. They were very nice to me. I actually tried Kroger this week to take a Publix break and found it more coupon friendly. Good luck!

    • Paige

I also have a coupon book from Target for the month of June (it came in the mail) that has a coupon for $1.50 off of a Revlon product. That’s a toal of $3.50 off if you happen to have this coupon as well, right???

    • Paige- no, I have that coupon too. That is a Target coupon and the Revlon coupon in the advantage buy is a Publix coupon. You can’t stack two store coupons. You can only stack a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon.

    • I also had problems stacking a man. coupon with the Publix coupon for the Zyrtec. The cashier said it said the number of coupons exceeded number of items, so I threw in a package of Starbursts and both coupons went through. There was plenty left on the total for it not to be an issue of overage. I think it’s just like at Walgreens where the number of items needs to match the number of coupons.

    • sjones

      Jenny,
Checked out the life cycle of a coupon, was wondering how stores don’t lose money when they take competitor coupons. Like Publix, how does that work with them? Also, when they double coupons do they lose the amount they double?

      • Jenny

        sjones,

Doubling is funded by the store and not the manufacturer. Competitor coupons are also funded by the store, those are the only two times that it comes out of their pockets.

    • Mina

sjones, the amount that a store takes off from competitor q’s is not compensated to them. They do take a loss on those. The catalinas, like the RR’s from Wags, that are issued by other stores are different. They are reimbursed for those by the manufacturer who sponsors them.

    • Melissa C.

Brandy, the Publix coupon would be the Store coupon, and a Target coupon would be a Competitor coupon. You should be able to stack a Store and Competitor coupon together if I’m not mistaken.

    • Pat

I just left Publix to purchase ice cream-I had a craving:-) I checked out the clearance rack and saw Sundown vitamins on clearance. I purchased a bottle of Vitamin E tabs($3) and B50 complex ($3.25) I used the green advantage coupon for $6 off 2 vitamins. I noticed the small print so I asked the cashier. She stated it was okay because one was store coupon and the other was manufacturer. I also had a $3.00 off 2 manufacturer coupon.

      Here was my transaction
      B50 complex $3.25
      Vitamin E $3.00
      Ice cream
      2/$6 $6.00
      Total $12.25
      store Q -$6.00
      mani Q -$3.00
      oop $3.75

      So check your clearance section!!!

    • Publix Associate

I really like this website I would like to think that most of you are honest, but it is getting really hard to think that lately, especially when it comes to internet coupons. I don’t know what makes some of you think that it is ok to make copies of internet coupons even thought it states clearly COUPON MUST BE VOIDED IF COPIED, SOLD OR TRANSFERRED. I know that times are hard right now and everyone is trying to save money, but what makes some of you think its ok to do that? It makes me really angry that this is happening and I am asking all of the honest couponers, if you know someone that is doing that please ask them to STOP, and for those of you that are doing that, and you know who you are, shame on you, I really don’t understand how you can sleep at night when you know you are doing the wrong thing. Its coupon FRAUD. PLEASE STOP
Ps.: All internet coupons have a different serial number. Even if it is the same exact coupon they WILL have a different serial number. I know even after reading this comment some of you are still going to try to get away with it but the cashiers at my store are trained to look out for that, so I’m hoping this will make some of you stop.

      Thanks

    • elaine

any luck finding the Lamisil coupon? THANKS

      • Jenny

No luck so far… it’s frustrating me, I can see the coupon in my mind just can’t remember where it was.

    • Dear Publix Assoc.

BRAVO!!!! Very well put. The greedy make those of us who abide by the rules look bad. Times may be hard, but stealing is still a sin….and a crime! WE ARE THANKFUL FOR PUBLIX IN MONTGOMERY ALABAMA!!!!

    • Leisa

      Publix Assoc.,

You are obviously preaching to the choir. If you haven’t noticed every comment on this site is geared towards responsible couponing. I have never seen a question about how to commit coupon fraud. You seem defensive and angry towards couponers.

    • sjones

      I agree with you, Leisa.
Publix Associate, I feel that most of us on this site are trying to find out how to use coupons properly and get the best deals. You may need to search for another site where you see people deliberately trying to misuse them. Sorry for the inconveinces you face while dealing with those who commit coupon fraud.

    • Allison

i was able to use babiesRus coupons at Publix yesterday to but ALL and Tide laundry detergents. They were $3 and $5 off respectively. they rang up for even more then the coupon price -and the honored them anyways – GREAT DEAL! Plus i had manuf coupon for both – made for a super sweet deal!

    • I noticed that the Cat coupons from Food Lion have expired. A
re there any up to date cat food coupons?? Thanks for your help.

    • Alison V.

anyone else have trouble printing the Aveeno coupon?

I spoke with a supervisor at the East Brainerd Publix in Chattanooga. She said she was going to look into whether or not they’d continue to stack Q’s with the adv buy Q’s that say ‘not to be used w/…” and then she said that the publix Q’s are actually manuf Q’s made specifically for publix. so they technically weren’t “store coupons”. i thought that was the stupidest thing i’d ever heard. if it’s specifically made for publix and can’t be used anywhere else since there’s no barcode, then wouldn’t that be the definition of a “store coupon”?!

    • Elizabeth

Ha, ha, Publix Associate made me laugh. Anybody on THIS site advocate copying coupons or any other kind of coupon fraud?! LOL! PA is obviously a spammer and is probably just cutting and pasting messages on any coupon board she/he can find. Maybe the same person that was railing like a madman on another place on this site. Find a new hobby, PA!

    • Jenny, Elaine,
I did find a CVS Lamisil Q in their May 2009 clipfree coupon book.
I did not see an expiration on the coupon. Can you explain how this clipfree book can be used.
Thanks and I love southern savers!

      • Jenny

        Mimi,

The clipfree coupon booklet at CVS is really a booklet of sale prices. They are “coupons” but the price has already been adjusted so you don’t need them. If your Publix accepts non grocery competitor coupons (most don’t) you could try to use the coupon there though.

    • Jenna

Does anyone know why there hasn’t been a Yellow Advantage Flyer published yet? It’s not out at the stores and I forgot to ask last time I was there. It should have started June 6, right?

    • Betsy

      Jenna,
I was there this afternoon and asked one of the customer service reps and she said that it was not out yet and she didn’t know when it was coming out. I laughed and said that I was waiting for it, so I obviously don’t have much of a social life when that’s what I get excited about!!! She told me sometime next week, but surely it will be sooner.

    • Mike

Missy, Thank-you for your advice, I followed it and saved so much you are the coupon- queen mike in tampa florida .

    • cortney

How do you get the advantage buy coupons?
