I have had lots of comments lately from people who recently found that the Red Plum insert was dropped by their newspaper.  If this has happened in your area you are in luck.  You can get the Red Plum insert in the mail!!

Go HERE and fill out the contact form to get added to their mailing list.
Choose “Consumer”,  and then “I would like to start receiving your coupons by mail.”

**From what I gather off their site, they only mail coupon inserts to areas that are not covered by newspapers, and it is only one per household.  If you live in area getting it in your paper you can always sign up and see if it comes.**

Note: Valassis and Red Plum are the same company, why they changed the name of the insert is a good question… Also if you have gotten a Redplum insert since January your area is safe.  We don’t need any wide spread Southern Savers panic here!!  If your paper did drop the insert it also never hurts to call and lodge complaints.

    • Thanks!

I am in the opposite situation. I am from Illinois and I ONLY get the Red Plum in my paper and nothing else. EVER! It is VERY frustrating. I have complained many times and they told me that they have dropped the SmartSource insert indefinitely. Do you know if I can get that mailed to me like the Red Plum? I would really like the Smart Source as it seems to always have a lot of coupons I’d need whereas I don’t seem to use as many from the Red Plum for some reason.

Lana – Sorry there is no way to get the SS in the mail that I know of. I’ll keep looking for you, but it doesn’t look hopeful.

Lana – You can go to Ebay and purchase un-cut coupon inserts for SS and PG since you don’t get those. I’m in Alabama and my paper has different coupons than what what is posted on most blogs which is very frustrating! So I go find the specific coupon I need… like huggies diapers… and buy a bunch of them on Ebay. I got 20 of the $1.50 Huggies coupons for $2.00 with free shipping -a great deal for someone who buys a lot of diapers :) I hope this helps!

      thank you!!!!

Thanks, Andrea. I have been thinking about doing that for some time, but always think, “Why pay to get coupons when I can get them in the paper?” But maybe if I drop the paper (that costs $2 an issue!) and buy only the ones I need off ebay for that price……sounds good. Thanks!

Can anybody confirm if Cleveland Plaindealer on 2/8 has the RedPlum indsert or not?

I also do not get SS in East Tennessee. I have not tried the Nashville paper though. This is a great idea to drop the paper and buy the coupons if it works… I am assuming they send them in the mail? Our snail mail here takes longer for some reason. Is this a real problem?

I live in Mississippi and have a similar problem. Coupons by Dede sells whole coupon inserts. http://www.couponsthingsbydede.com.

    • Regarding Paula’s comment above, I live in East TN and the Knoxville News Sentinel carries all inserts as far as I know.. The local papers such as the Oak Ridger, or Roane County News, Maryville Daily Times, etc only carry certain ones however. Try the Sentinel if you haven’t already..!
