Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

You can score great deals right now at Restaurant.com.  Just use the code AUTUMN to get 80% off and get a FREE $10 gift certificate. This offer is good until 9/26.

That means you get $35 in gift certificates (coupons) for $2!!

These are really coupons off a larger purchase (so you do still have to spend money in the restaurant), but they are a great way to save.

Think of them as a $10 off a $15 lunch or $25 dollars off a $40 dinner. For us this makes for cheap lunches out with Daddy, or inexpensive dinner dates. Make sure to read what the requirements are for that restaurant before purchasing.

Do you do cashback?
Go  through ebates and get 15% cash back. If you have never used ebates before you will also get a $5 bonus for opening a new account. Here’s a little bit more on what ebates is.

Just got my $25 discount and $10 free gift certificate. It only cost me $2. The catch is, each restaurant has special instructions for the gift certificate. I need to spend at least $35 to use my $25 discount. Just make sure you watch what each one says. I was going to go for the $50 discount, but realized I wouldn’t be spending $100 at the place. The free $10 card comes after you enter your payment info. I got the choice of a few places, and ended up with one for shoebox.com. The other choices didn’t really appeal to me. All in all, I’m glad I found this website.

The email I got from restaurant.com said that the $10 gift certificate would be emailed within 24 hours of your purchase. Found a certificate for a restaurant we already have plans to go to on Monday! Score!! :-D Love taking advantage of this one! Thanks for the reminder!

hmmm, not seeing the free $10 gift certificate anywhere. i see where it says “Get $25 Restaurant Gift Certificates for only $10” but not a free $10 cert. am i missing something or do you have to actually complete the order to get it?

      • Christina

you have to complete the order and it will be emailed to you

    • Tracey

      I think I'm missing something…and it's very likely b/c I'm sleep deprived right now. : )

I added a $10 certificate to my shopping cart; entered the Promo Code AUTUMN; saw that I would be charged $2 for my certificate. However, I don't get where the free $10 gift certificate comes into play. It was not added to my shopping cart. I haven't entered payment information yet…will I see it after that? Or do I need to add (2) $10 certificates to my order and (1) will be $2 and the other one will be free?

      • Loueffie

I got the same thing, Tracey. I don't want to complete my order without that extra $10 certificate. I can't seem to find clarification for the deal anywhere either. Hmmmm…

      • The $10 free gift certificate is emailed to you after you place your order.

my 50.00 gift card for Johnny's Pizza and Subs is only good if I spend a 100.00. What a rip off. I am glad I only spent 4.00 to get it. Lesson learned, I will never use this site again.

You just have to read the rules before making a purchase (as Jenny posted in her entry and as it mentions on the restaurant.com website.) If you buy a $25 gift card and have to spend $35, you’re still getting a good deal. Maybe you can order subs or pizza next time you have a party? It would help with the food bill.

      • The best way to work this site is to buy just gift certicates and not ones for specific restaurants. That way you have them and then can decide which restaurant and how big of an amount off you want. The $25 ones are the best deals.

I have used this site before with no problems, just make sure to pay attention to the requirements of each restaurant. I also called their customer service by phone to clarify all the details the first time and they were very helpful to me.

When I checked out it said that I was chosen for a $10 gift certificate and then listed 4 things for me to choose from. The only $10 gift card was for an online shoe store. The other offers were for 10% off sports wear or t-shirts from on line sites. I was not interested in any of these. Oh well I still got 3 great gift cards for $6.

They’ll e-mail the $10 restaurant.com gift card to you in a little bit. :) They don’t give it to you while you’re checking out.

    • momof4

After you check out, they will send you an e-mail on how to redeem the free $10 gc.

Everyone needs to read the comments and directions. Details for the restaurant are below each restaurant. Don't blame the site as a rip off because you did not read the details as Jenny tells you.

The $10 gift certificate is emailed to you after you complete the transactions – just as many people have already mentioned.

I bought a bunch of these, printed them out and am putting them in a hat for date night, whenever we go out, it will be a random chance as to where. There were so many in my area that I would like to try, seemed like the perfect time to get them…. AND the certificates don't expire :-)

      Thanks Jenny!

    • Pianogretch

Make sure you check your “junk mail” for the free $10 certificate. That's where I found my email from them. If anyone doesn't want their shoebuy.com certificate and doesn't have anyone who needs/ wants it, let me know! I could use it for my kids. :)

I made my purchase using the link from Ebates last night, but nothing is showing up in my account for the 15% back yet. Does it usually take awhile for it to show up or did I make a mistake somehow?
