      Oldest drug store scam in the book. Buy 1, get the 2nd 50% off equals a 25% savings. Look at it this way. If you buy the first item for $100, then the second one should cost $50, which means you’re paying $150 for both. That $50 off that sounds so wonderful equals a 25% discount, which is a pittance, ie $200 original price for both; $150 final price. $150/$250=75% you pay for both.

      • I wouldn’t really call that a “scam”. I think most of us couponers know enough math to figure out the actual savings. And when you combine those BIG1 50% off sales with coupons you’re definitely paying less than 75% of the total price, sometimes even less than 50% depending on the coupons used.

      I’m not sure that I understand the math on the first option. If each pore scrub costs $10.79 and one is half off at $5.40, the total would be $16.19. With $3 off, that still makes each one over $6. I’m new to couponing so maybe I’m misunderstanding how it works?
