This will be my first week couponing at Walgreens, Does anyone know if the sales ads always start on Sunday at Walgreens, or do some stores have their sales starting Saturday like come CVS? Also in the 24 hours stores, can you go at midnight and get the sales to ring up right? Thanks!

      • thefrugalfreeloader

Also, in your scenario in Transaction # 3 wouldn't you end up with 12 RR when you leave instead of 10? Because 2 for the Floss plus 10 for the Ducolax?

        • jessica

          Yes, you are right.

        • Misty

There were also some Get free Bottled water wyb dulcolax coupons, I had like 5 but thought I would never buy dulcolax so I threw them away =( oh well, if you have them use them too!

          • Bobbie

I tried using the bottled water coupon today along with a $3. off coupon and it would not take both coupons???? Don't see why not.

            • Michelle

I was able to use both…..I wonder why yours didn't work?

            • Carrie

I was able to use both as well.

            • Sandra

I tried to do the free water and it messed up the register! The manager had to override it, but they gave it to me anyway…
Also my Wags had a free reusable shopping bag if you purchased Dasani, so I got the Dulcolax, a bottle of Dasani & a shopping bag for around $6.

            • Stacy

The sign is wrong, you have to buy 2 Dasani waters to get the free bag. The new tags should be going up.

            • gingerinCA

I tried that yesterday, and it didn't work for me either. I told them to just leave the water off. Oh well.

      • jessica

To my knowledge, they all start on Sunday. At least, all in my area do. My closest store is a 24hr store, and I sometimes do go at midnight on Saturday night, and I have never had a problem. I asked the cashier about it the first time and she said the registers are programmed to start the new ad at midnight. I assume that is for all areas. If it's a really good ad and I'm awake, I go in at 11:30pm Saturday night, find all my stuff, and then check out at like 12:05am :)

        • our manager told us that you can shop both ads after 2pm on saturdays.

          • Andrew The CouponMAN

Yes the sales Start SAT night BUT you DO NOT GE THE RR till Sunday……

          • Bobbie

Last Sat afternoon I went to Wags with no problems with the RR's but yesterday it gave the sale price but no RR's printed. Had to wait until today.

      • tammy

The good cashier at my Wags told me that the prices for the new ad are usually activated about 5:00ish on Sat. nite, but the RRs for the new ad won't print until after midnight. My Wags is a 24 hr. store.

    • s.karns

Walgreens sent the ad to my email yesterday at 4:30am! This is the first time this has happened.

    • oh and for anyone who didnt use the $2 off Printable Post coupon from http://www.postnatural.com/ you could possibly pair it with the $1.99 post cereal here and get it for free!

    • The Printable $2 off dove coupon is gone :-( I k new I should have printed it earlier!! Thank you for everything you do!

      • Bailey

You can still print them. I got mine.

        • AJ

I wasn't able to print the $2 off coupon either. Says “The coupons for this program have been depleted.”

          • Amanda

I wasn't about to print coupon either. Bummer

        • Brooke82

I tried printing it last night, but it wouldn't let me either. When did you print yours?

      • denise0331

The Dove coupons were gone 2 weeks ago. At least that's what the website said when I tried to print them 2 weeks ago.

        • balta1701

I was first able to print them 2 weeks ago, then I was able to re-print them last week on the same computer. It said they were “Depleted” after the first time I printed them on each computer, I think that may be their way of saying you've used up your supply. Try again in a few days, maybe they'll reset one more time before the Walgreens offer ends.

    • I am so exiceted about the Dove deal. I heard there is going to be a Dove coupon in this Sunday's Paper. We can hope.

      • jennifr1966

I liked the Dove deal so much, I used the shampoo on Sunday before looking at SouthernSavers nor my coupons! I figured getting the $4 back was worth it. I ended up rolling it on to the rinse later, then used the rinse RR to buy a Dove conditioner and the Cottonelle deal! Going back and forth, I was able to buy my daughter these $4 bubbles she'd be begging for. (We have to be so careful with our $ right now, that I told her I'd only buy them if I found a way for it not to cost, which did, indeed, happen via coupons & deal!)

    • Lisa2468

My Walgreens won't print a RR if you use a RR as a full or partial payment in a transaction. Is this common?

      • Carrie

You should be able to use RRs to pay for a transaction and still get RRs as long as the RRs used to pay are not from the same company as the RRs you are wanting to receive. Example: You buy Colgate toothpaste and get $2RR back, you turn around and buy another Colgate toothpaste and use the $2RR you just received, you will NOT get another $2RR on your 2nd transaction. But if you did the 1st transaction the same and turned around and bought Crest or anything else in the store NOT owned by Colgate then you CAN use the $2RR you received from your first transaction and still get whatever RRs you would be due from your 2nd transaction. Is that clear as mud yet (sorry, but I'm naturally long-winded trying to explain something – someone else can probably explain it in about 2 sentences and be clearer than I am)?
If your store is telling you that you can't use any RRs to pay for a transaction and still receive RRs even though it is from a different manufacturer, then you need to talk to a manager or talk to corporate directly to find out why they are saying that.

        • Lisa2468

Yep, I understand what you're saying. thanks for taking the time to explain. I'm going to try again using your advice. Thanks again.

          • Carrie

My pleasure! Have a great day.

          • jennifr1966

Also, don't forget: you can only buy that item once. If you buy 2 of them at once, you'll only get RR for one of them! Example of what you could do: Say you want 2 Colgates, and it's $2 RR wyb 1 Colgate. Buy the 1st one, use the RR on something else, then use *that* RR to turn back around and buy the 2nd Colgate. Hope that helps, too. It's taken me quite some time to get this down pat!

        • lorhop

I had the same thing happen yesterday at a Walgreens in Nashville. It would not give me the RR since I had paid the balance with a RR of a completely different manufacturer. 1st time I have run into that.

          • Ali

Where in Nashville lorhop? I had a problem with the Walgreens on Edmonson at the corner of Old Hickory. I returned everythind and asked for my RR back. They were very rude to me, and I sent an email to corporate. I will not return to that Walgreens. However, I moved on to the Walgreens on the corner of Edmonson and Nolensville (just down the road) and had no problem using RR and getting RR back as long as it was not on items from the same company (which I wasn't doing at the other Walgreens). Very frustrating!

            • lorhop

Yes, the one at the corner of OHB and Edmonson. I tried the one in Brentwood and it worked fine. Oh, and I agree…they were not very nice.

      • Jenni

        Lisa,
Where are you located if you don't mind me asking? ( I am in Spartanburg, SC). I have the same situation at my local Walgreens. I had several awesome scenarios printed out and all organized on a trip a couple of months ago. I was SO excited about it and me and my fiance` were taking turns doing the transactions and letting people in front of us, trying to be polite etc… When my RR's were not printing I asked to speak to a manager and the manager told me that if I used RR's for a transaction that I could not get any RR's back from that same transaction basically. He said that it USE to be that you could just not get them back if you used RR from that same company but that they are changing the way they do things. He said that pretty soon ALL Walgreens are going to be like that and that was at least a couple of months ago. Thats why Im shocked (and jealous of course!) that so many people are still able to use RR's AND get RR's back in the same transaction. I rarely use Wags anymore and its really sad b/c I see some really awesome deals most weeks on items we use regularly and the employees are typically very friendly but I have been “burned” more than once by them so I try to stick with my ECB's and SCR's instead. : -(

p.s. anyone else reading this happen to have the same problem?

        • Carrie

Someone basically said the same thing about WAGS on Jenny's CVS 3/28 post. If WAGS really does start doing this then they can forget my business.

        • mom2twoboys

I am in VA and I have never had an issue with using RR and getting more back as long as they are from different manufacturer, if it ever changes they may lose my business!

        • socoupon

Hey Jenni, which WAGS in Spartanburg do you go to? I go to both the one on Reidville Rd and the new one in Moore and have not had this happen.

          • Jenni

hey! I am closest to the one on Reidville Rd and thats the one that I had this happen to me at! It was right around Christmas time and there were several good deals to me that week and so I had 4 or 5 transactions prepared to do. I ended up doing most of them but my RR's stopped printing on the 2nd or 3rd transaction and I believe it was the assistant manager that told me that. Now if I do go there I only go for sale items (which means I rarely go) OR if I go and buy something that prints out RR's I try to find something small I need to use those with but its kinda hard to do most of the time. I also had a HORRIFIC experience at that “new” Wags in Moore when I transferred a Prescription so I've never actually shopped there! The pharmacy there (and Target where I was transfering from) accused me of being fradulent with my Rx's basically b/c they could not understand their screens b/c they said I transfer my Rx's too much! Well I say dont advertise a coupon/gift card for transfering a Rx if your staff is going to give people total H-E double you know what about it. Sorry I just got going venting again! thanks for the info though…that is interesting…I may try them one more time eventually and see what happens b/c I know my items were def. not from the same manufacturer.

            • jennifr1966

Oh my goodness, Jenni!!!!!! That is just plain awful! How dare they accuse you of fraud! I would have contacted the corporate office on that. That's how they lose business! That gift card might come out of their pocket, but they're getting people to come to them for their prescription (that could cost via insurance hundreds of dollars!) plus getting them into the store, where they'll probably spend more money while they're waiting! I'm sorry you went through that, but truly, you should go over their heads and complain. Heck, my family has over 12 prescriptions/month between us. It could *look* like fraudulent prescription coupon whatever if we started transferring like 2 a month. Hehehe – I should do it just to see what happens! LOL!

        • Mrs Sunshine

I live in Dalton, GA. My local Walgreens will not generate a new coupon for the same item even if it is in a seperate transaction if you are using the same bank debit card. I had the same problem with using my store card on the same item in the local CVS also. They're trying their best to keep us from buying more than one of the weekly store specials….solution, get more than one store card and pay with cash (or different bank cards).

          • jengc

I wonder what would happen if you used cash. They couldn't track that at all.

        • jaimeech

Jenni, I shop at the Walgreen's on Southport Rd and they are not doing that. You can roll your RRs as long as you follow the rules of no more coupons than items, and use only RRs from other manufacturers when purchasing another RR deal. They can be tricky, but if I follow the rules I almost never have any issues there.

          • whitneybutler

I shop at this wags too. Do you normally have pretty good experiences with this store? I feel like they never stock enough of the sale items!

            • jaimeech

Sorry! I couldn't find my post on here! lol. I like it alright. The store is a mess, and as you mentioned, they don't seem to stock very well. However, after shopping there for months and consistently following the rules, at least I don't have to put up with the randomness of not knowing if the RRs will print and such like so many do. The cashiers are pretty friendly and I normally don't have a problem using my coupons. I have also shopped at the one on Reidville Rd a couple times when ours was out of a particular deal and they didn't seem too terrible either.

      • amy

Lisa, my wags does the same thing….it makes no difference who the manufacturer is. You might try another wags in your area. Each is different.

    • jhooks4

They wouldn't take my Crest toothpaste coupon. The machine wouldn't take it and the manager said it wasn't the same thing.

    • tnmom0f3

Question for you. I'm still really new to this only been couponing for about 3 weeks. I've had some great deals though. Yesterday at Wags it wouldn't take my $5 RR because the total before tax didn't equal $5 or more. I had to add filler items to get my pre-tax total up so that it would accept my RR. I then paid $2.38 in tax. When you say “You owe nothing” do you mean literally nothing or just tax? Thanks!
      Stacie

      • Tara

The “nothing” is before tax. So, for example, if she says, you owe: 1.00, it will be 1.00 plus tax. And it is not just tax on the dollar, it will be on your “pre-coupon” total. It still makes it a good deal, we can't get around paying Uncle Sam… :) Hope this helps!

        • MrsSunshine

Thank you. I've wondered about this very thing before.

      • jessica

I've been doing walgreens a long time…you always have to pay tax on the pre-coupon subtotal. When she says “you owe nothing” that is just your subtotal before tax. Your walgreens was right- the machines won't accept your RR until your subtotal before tax is equal to, or more than, your RR. Hope that helps! :)

        • Lucy

Yea, the subtotal has to be more than your RRs. My subtotal was 4 cents less and it wouldn't take it, I had to get a filler item.

      • Since we all have different tax rates it is just easier to give it on the subtotal. Sorry for the confusion.

        • tnmom0f3

Thank you all for your clarification. I just didn't know. Thanks!!!

    • Barb

Can someone tell me if you can use RR on items that will be submitted for rebate? I have heard not to use the CVS ECB on rebate items, as the manufacturer will reduce the refund, but the Walgreen's RR show up as a manufacturer coupon on the receipt. I don't see how the rebate people could tell what any of the coupons are for.

      Thanks, I am confused.

      • Carrie

I can't say that it won't ever happen, but so far, I've always been reimbursed for whatever the purchase price of the rebate item was even if my total $ spent was less because of RRs, ECBs or man. coupons. Of course, I usually buy muliply items on any given receipt so the rebate item is not the only item listed on a receipt. Therefore the rebate company doesn't know if my total $ spent was because of coupons used for other items on my receipt or for the rebate item itself.

        • Barb

True. The last rebate I sent out was for Renpure $6.99 and I had used a $4RR but I had three other items and paid over $13 OOP too.

    • Bailey

I've never shopped at walgreens, so bear with me. I want to know if I'll get 2 $4RRs if I buy 2 Dove shampoos. What what are filler items?

      • Barb

The filler items are very low-priced items you use to increase your total number of items. When you redeem an RR, you must have no more coupons than you have items. For instance, yesterday I went and was buying 7 items but had 8 coupons. I added a .15 highlighter from the clearance bin.

        • sharmn25

do wags instant print coupons count as a coupon in the item/coupon ratio? for example, if i am buying the cottenelle and using the in store q , the mq, and a $4 rr, do i need 1 filler or 2? thanks!

          • carolyn090

at my store they do not count. each store is different. i would say just grab 2 of the cups or the bags at 8/1.00 they are great for holding left over holiday candy and they make good enuff, oops i forgot gifts.

      • Brooke82

You have to buy the shampoos in different transactions. The filler items are cheap items that you buy to cover all of your coupons. You can't have more coupons than you have items. You usually need them if you are using RR's to pay for an item that you already have a coupon for. For example for this week's ad coming up, I am buying the dove shampoo in my first transaction. The $4 RR from that will be used on my second transaction to buy two Tylenol Cold medicines. I already have two coupons for the Tylenol Cold medicine, so now I have three coupons (this is including the RR because it counts as a coupon). I am getting the paper plates as my filler.

        • Bailey

Thanks guys. It makes sense now. One more question, if I have a $1/2 coupon, does that count as 2 or 1?

          • Brooke82

            That coupon counts as one.

          • Carrie

I think the $1/2 coupon would count for just one item. Meaning if you are buying two items that you will use the $1/2 (in other words – coupon 1 for item 1)for, you can still use an RR (coupon 2 for item 2) without having to get a filler item. Just make sure that the value of the RR isn't more than the value of the two products or else the computer won't accept it. That's why WAGS is so confusing. You have to make sure that not only the number of coupons isn't more than the number of items you purchase but also that the value of coupons/RRs used isn't more than the total value of what you are purchasing or else the computer won't accept it.

          • mom2twoboys

my wags in Va, counts it as 2 always have to threw in another filler I think its one of those YMMV kind of thing

          • Samantha

My Walgreens in Tallahassee counts it as two coupons.

    • littlemama8

If you buy two dove's in one transaction will it print $8RR? Or only $4?

      • Brooke82

Only $4. Use those $4 RRto buy something else that you get RR for. Then use those RR to buy another dove shampoo or conditioner. You will get another $4 RR.

        • littlemama8

          Got ya! Thanks.

        • jennifr1966

Be careful! Ask your Walgreens first *if* you can do that. Because ours won't let you do that. You have to use the RR for anything else in the store *other* than what the RR was for.

          • Brooke82

I told her to use the RR from the Dove to buy something wlse that she would get a RR for. Then use that RR from the other item to buy the Dove again.

    • megan10

I have never used RR's at walgreens before. Do they work like CVS's ECB's where you get basically like cash back for your next purchase or is the money you get back specific for a certain product? Just curious.

      • Brooke82

You should look at the guide to Walgreen's at the top in the menu. It explains all of that. I had to look over it a couple of times at first to get how they work.

    • HeathH

Are all these deals Limit 1? (like the Dove shampoo)

      • Brooke82

No you can buy more than one. You just have to do each one in a seperate transaction.

        • gingerinCA

Actually, it kind of depends on your store. You will only get back 1 RR, no matter how many of the product you buy. And I had a manager at one store get all nasty with me when I tried to do 2 separate transactions. They had a huggies deal, which I was going to do twice, and he wouldn't let me because he said you're trying to cheat the system. I can see that point of view. Other stores will let you do separate transactions, though I would still try to limit the number to 2, or something reasonable. Then they might let you get away with it.

          • Barb

I have not tried the back-to-back transaction thing. I know a lot of people do it, and I've read that they are more open to it at the cosmetics counter.

I live right down the road from a Walgreen, so I just go back in and do a transaction later in the day or in the week as I am passing by.

If they are so concerned about it, they should put limits and use a customer card like CVS.

            • littlemama8

I do separate transactions all the time. I do it in the cosmetics check out and they are really nice. They even helped me once when I screwed up one of my transactions. I write it all down now before I go so that doesn't happen again.

            • Brooke82

You should just do them in the same visit. Like you said, they must not be too concerned about it if they aren't setting limits or giving us a card so that they know we are not getting more than one deal.

          • Brooke82

Go in later at night. The regular employees are less likely to deny you the deals that you want to get more than one of. I doubt the manager works at night, I have only seen a manager in my store during the day.

            • gingerinCA

No, I had 4 separate transactions. The 1st transaction and 3rd transaction were Huggies, and the 2nd and 4th were something else. But the manager would not let me do the second Huggies transaction, because he said I was trying to cheat the system. Unfortunately, the manager was running the cosmetics counter, and it was near midnight. I didn't stress over it, just didn't do the 3rd transaction. He's just a mean manager– he also pretty much called me a liar once, over a different RR glitch. I have 2 other Wags that are close, too, so that Wags doesn't get much business from me anymore. But that's why I was trying to tell the original poster that it depends on your store, because I have another Wags that bends over backwards to help you out. So if one won't let you do it in 2 separate transactions, another store might. Thanks, though. :) I think I had a typo in my first post that made it not make sense. :)

    • Stacie

For the 2 different Dove RRs deals, can you roll those deals? Use the RRs from the shampoo to pay for the body wash or deodorant and still get a RR since they are different deals? Or not since they are from the same company?

      • Won't work if it is from the same Company. Intermingle y our purchases,so that the Rr from Dove pays for something else and then the Rr from that pays for the next Dove.

Also, read the Getting Started at the top, it has a lot of valuable info about shopping at Walgreens!!

      • Carrie

I don't think you can because it is still the same company even if the deal is different. Even with deals from one week to the next, you have to make sure that the RRs you use are not from the same company as the RRs you will be receiving.

    • Stacie

Also if I buy 2 of the same RR items such as 2 dove shampoo or 2 dentek floss in separate transactions and get 2 RRs can I use those together on a purchase, i.e. Buy 2 floss in separate transactions get 2 $2 RR, can I then use both of those together to pay for a $4 shampoo?

      • You can use the two RR on a purchase (like the shampoo) but you have to have the same # of items as you have coupons/RR. WHich is why she always posts the best Filler Items on this page. Your “filler” can be something you need or it can be something super cheap that simply gets your item total # equal to your coupon #.

      • Carrie

Yes, you can use RRs you received from a deal done twice in 2 separate transactions at the same time to buy something else. So, you could use 2 $2RR from floss (transactions 1& 2) at the same time in a 3rd transaction as long as the new item you are purchasing is not from the same parent company.

The only issue with the scenerio you asked about is that you can't use 2 $2RR to buy 1 $4 shampoo because at WAGS, the number of coupons you use can't exceed the number of items you are purchasing. Therefore you can't use 2 $2RR (considered 2 coupons) to purchase 1 shampoo.

    • Stacie

Can I use the RRs from the dove shampoo to pay for the dove body wash deal since they are listed as separate deals but are from the same company? Will I still get another RR?

      • No, same company. Won't work! Intermingle your purchases, so that you continue to get the RR.
Take the time to read the Getting Started Guide at the top of this post.

      • Nicole

Nope that just happened to me, tried to use the dove shampoo $4 RR on the dove $4 RR when you spend $12 on body wash, deoderant, etc and didn't get my RRs on that one. Had my 3 year old who was having a moment while we were checking out and didn't realize til I got out of the store but wasn't taking her back in after all that. I thought the cashier just didn't give them to me but now I see why. Still got shampoo, floss, 2 men body wash, 2 deoderant, and 12 pack cottenelle for $11.50.

    • branmuffin

      Hi!

I can't find the $1 off coupon for cottonelle! Does anyone know what zip code I can use?

      • Hesperides

I can only find a .50/1 for the Cottonelle! I'd like to know also!

      • the only $1.00 off cottonelle was in the Wags april coupon book

    • Stacie

Can I use RR from dove shampoo to pay for dove body wash and still get another RR since they are listed as separate deals but are from the same company?

      • chrissys

I don't believe so, you can't use a Dove RR, to buy another product from the same manufacturer.

        • Gin

You can use it, you just won't get another RR back on that purchase. It will end the “rolling” of your RR.

    • Stacie

Also, could I buy dove shampoo and dove body wash in the same transaction and it still print 2 $4 RRs?

      • Natalie

No, I just bought a shampoo and conditioner in the same transaction and it only printed one $4 RR. =(

    • The lifesavers jelly beans is included

    • Stacie

If I have 2 dove shampoo RRs ($4 each) from separate transactions, can I then use both of these together to pay on another transaction?

      • Mrs. Sunshine

Yes, as long as the transaction is over $8 before tax.

      • Michelle

and as long as you have two or more items (remember, you need one item for each RR and for each coupon you use).

        • jennifr1966

REALLY? I wonder if that's a “per store” thing, because we're literally only able to use ONE RR per transaction! and then if we have a coupon we have to have a filler item, and if it has an in-ad coupon, that still doesn't count!

    • DETRA

WAS WONDERING WHAT ZIPCODE TO USE FOR THE$1.00 COUPON ON THE VIVA PAPER TOWELS

    • smcwilliams37

This might be a silly question…but do you have to have an account with Walgreens? or will I still get RR's back if I have never shopped there before?

      • There is no card system there. Just go in and shop and your rewards print automatically.

        • smcwilliams37

thanks jenny =) I really appreciate all you do!

    • Marie

Well, I just got back from my first Wags trip and I don't think I did too bad! I ended up spending $19.69 OOP (getting Milk and some items needed as filler items) with total savings of $107.41! BTW, I don't remember seeing it listed above, but Cetaphil was on sale for $7.99 and I used all of my $5 off coupons.

      • RBMommy

Marie, which cetaphil was $7.99? We use the cream in the tub. That would be a great buy!

        • Marie

I don't think it is the one in the tubs. I didn't see them at my Wags atleast. I got the cleanser and moisturizer in the bottles. I noticed that they had some of the bottles stuffed way in the back though that also came with free cleansing bars which typically go for $4.29+ each for the same exact size, so it's a great deal. :)

    • Holly

Can someone please explain to me what happened? For the first time last week I tried to combine a register reward coupon with a manufacturers coupon on a bottle of head and shoulders shampoo, and was told that the register reward was considered a manufacturers coupon, therefore, I could not use both it and the actual head and shoulders coupon. The head and shoulders was the only item i was purchasing and the register reward was from a previous transaction. Is it because i did not add any additional items to the order? I see lots of senarios on here where it seems to work for other people. Thanks!

      • Holly

Also wanted to add that the previous register rewards came from a purchase of coca cola products.

      • wendyc33

looks like u might of needed a filler item? They will tell u that stuff to explain it to u, but they really do not know. If u had only 1 bottle of shampoo, and u used 1 manf, and 1 rr, That rr counts as coupon. So u needed a small filler item.

      • This is the confusing part about Walgreens. It may be easier for you to remember RR as Manf. Coupons and not think of them as 'cash'. If you buy 1 shampoo and have a coupon, but want to 'pay' your oop with a RR, the RR will beep and I think that's what happened with you. It makes Wags a little trickier! Also remember that the 'filler' item (which makes the ratio even of coupons/RR vs. items) can have a Walgreens coupon used, just no Manf. Coupons. HTH!

      • Carrie

It sounds like what happened is that you had more coupons (2 – 1 man. coupon & 1 RR (thought of as a man. coupon)) than items (1) you were purchasing. That's why Jenny lists filler items, that way you can get cheap things so that the number of items you buy is equal to the number of coupons. So if you had a cheap filler item with the shampoo then the number of items you bought would be 2 and equal to your number of coupons – 2.

      • jhoran

Yes. You need to add a filler item. 1 item per coupon. You were trying to use 2 q for 1 item. Try reading the guide at top of page.

    • megan10

I'm confused, do RR's come back as cash like CVS's ECB's or are they coupons for a specific item? Trying to decide if I want to do some of the deals this week.

      • Brooke82

RR are printed like a catalina coupon. It is not for a specific item but also remember that you can't roll them over to buy an item by the same manufacturer. For example, if you buy the Dove shampoo you can't use the RR from that to purchase another Dove product. It is considered a coupon so if you do several transactions with manufacturer q's make sure that you have some cheap filler items. This is so that you do not have more coupons than items being bought. Hope that helps :)

I was upset to find this morning that my paper (Wilmington Star News) did not have any Dove coupons in the insert. Bummed me out.

      • jhoran

Some of the dove have peelies on them for 1.50 and they are included in the sale.

    • Sony

The filler items listed above are w/in-ad coupons. Does the in-ad coupon not considered as One coupon when buying the items?

      • Brooke82

No it's not considered as a coupon. I thought that at first also.

      • Carrie

No, since its a store coupon, you don't have to figure it in when trying to get the number of items you purchase equal to the number of man. coupons or RRs you are using.

    • Mrs Sunshine

Has anyone else had the problem of not using store RR's before they expire? It's about 15 miles to my nearest Walgreens and if I leave the store with a handful of RR's and there isn't anything in the next week's sale that I want to buy I normally loose those RR's. What does everyone else do to keep this from happening?

      • mandy

Jenny suggests that you turn around & use for something u need in a second transaction, before u leave the store.

If they give u a hard time completing 2 transactions, just put ur stuff in the car & go back in to make a separate purchase with your RRs.

      • firstbrownie

I also live about 15 miles from my nearest Walgreens. I plan a once a week trip to Walgreens and CVS, and I usually try to go on the same day of the week. If there is nothing that I need the next week, I just remind myself that I have one more week before the RR expire, and I have always found something the following week to use them on and get more back (that last another two weeks). I usually try to “kill as many birds as I can with one stone” and make all my stops in that town on that day.

      • gingerinCA

Also, there are some grocery stores which will take the Walgreens RRs, since they are actually manufacturers coupons. I don't have Publix where I live, but I think someone may have said that Publix takes them????? According to their company policy, my Ralphs (which is like Kroger) is supposed to take them, though I have never tried it. But if you give your location, I'm sure someone on here can tell you if you have a grocery that will take them.

      • Carrie

If you can't find anything on sale that you really want to use those soon to expire RRs on, then use them on a necessity like toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I think this is how some say they never 'pay' for toilet paper anymore, because they use these RRs on them. It would probably be better to use the RRs on something like that than to have to loose them.

      • Mamaberry

I have talked to the mgr on duty before. If they still scan they've taken mine. Quite honestly, they get reimbursed for up to 6 months after the exp anyway so it's up to their discretion. Can't hurt to ask if you've forgotten or just couldn't get there in time. hth!!

    • I got $4.00 off Sudafed OM, any 0.5 fl oz – 03-14-10 RP (I live in Fl and have heard others only got a $2.00 off), so this makes you a $3.00 Profit.
      Here's how:
$5 RR wyb (2) of participating Cold and Allergy relief products at $4.99 ea:
Sudafed PE 18-24 ct or Nasal Mist .5 oz
      $4.00 0ff Sudafed OM, any 0.5 fl oz – 03-14-10 RP (x2)
      $4.99 x2 = $9.98 – $8 = $1.98 – $5.00 (RR)= Profit $3.02

      • gingerinCA

Thanks for the heads-up! I only have one Q, so not a money maker for me, but in conjunction with the 2$ Q, it makes both Sudafeds free. :)

      • Kelley

Thanks for your post. I was able to get this Sudafed OM deal. Also, Reeses dark is included in the 39 cent Wags q. Use with the 55 cent q (from a couple weeks back) to get some overage.

        • jennifr1966

Can someone tell me what they think of the dark chocolate Reese's? I haven't tried it yet.

          • couponqueen8202

Very good! Not at all bitter like some dark chocolate.

    • LaVie1

On the Cottonelle purchase, can you use the $1 off cpn from the Walgreen's April booklet and the $1 printable cpn IF you add a filler item? Would make it $3.00.

      • socoupon

You should be able to stack both coupons because one is a store coupon and one is a manufacturere coupon.

      • jhoran

Yes, but you have to wait until April 1st to use the wag. q.

        • Kelley

My Wags was honoring all April 1 coupons today.

      • jhoran

You don't have to use a filler item unless you are paying with a RR. Wags allows you to stack the wag. q and the manu. q.

    • Carol

I didn't see this mentioned so it might be an unadvertised sale –
Mighty Dog canned dog food 5.5 oz on sale 5/$4 – used the coupons in todays paper for $3 off 5 and also coupon for a free can. I got 16 cans for $3 after Q's – I had more Q's but that was all the cans they had in stock. As long as you buy more than 5 they ring up 80¢ ea so it doesn't have to be multiples of 5/$4.

    • Jeanna

WARNING Crazy couponer ahead… Went to Wags today with no RRs. Spent $25.29 on $188 worth of stuff and left with $44 in RRs. 7 transactions in total. Left with a ton of dulcolax, simply saline, bottled water, Wags vitamins, Dove shampoo & conditioner, and Airwick i-motion kits.

      • Beckett

how much were the airwick i-motion? I still have my cvs rainchecks that were on sale 4.99, and my 4 off coupons which made them .99 but if they are free at WAGs i'm hitting there!

        • Carrie

At my store, the small Airwick i-motion kits are either $3.50 or $3.99 when 50% off. That makes them free with the $4 coupons.

          • Marie

Same at my Wags! Got a few for free. Used up most of my coupons. :)

          • Shazzer

I went to Walgreens yesterday and bought 2 Airwicks for $3.99 and used 2 of the $4 off and bought a few other items and had no problem getting the Airwicks for free. Then I went to another Walgreens and wanted to buy 5 of the Airwicks for $3.99 and use 5 of the $4 coupons. The manager told me I couldn't do that because the coupon is for $4 and the price of the Airwick is $3.99 and that you can't use coupons that are for more than the price of the item. She said none of the Walgreens should accept the coupon unless you buy 2 Airwicks and only use 1 coupon. Anyone else have this issue? How can I get more Airwicks for free (I have about 7 coupons left)??

            • elisa

I had the same thing happen the other day. First Wags had no problem taking a coupon for $4 off the $3.99 Airwick. Second Wags wouldn't take it–the manager was really helpful and kept trying to push it through, but the register just would not accept it.

            • Brooke

My store won't let me use my Aiwirck i motion coupons because it 0.01d different. They said it agaist store policy to just coupons down even it 0.01 different.

            • jennifr1966

That's ridiculous, don't you think? I'm sure the manufacturer would agree, too. They'd rather pay the company back than to not sell their products! IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), sometimes I think they put out high-dollar coupons because they want to see it in more houses, so more people will be encourage to purchase their products in the future. For instance, I *thought* I was a Downy girl, but after getting the free Snuggles at Food Lion (on sale for $2.99, coupon this Sunday was $3/1!), I've found that I do like Snuggle, and will buy again!

      • jennifr1966

Jeanna, I would truly love to know what you did. How did you spend so little? Also, did you do it back-to-back with same cashier? I know it sounds shifty, but we have 3 places to check out, so I'll start at the back and work my way to front then start over again, if need-be. <grin>. I'm just too timid for this game, but want to play it, anyway!

    • Tiffany

Dang! The $2 Dove Hair coupons have been “depleted”. They shouldn't keep advertising they're there if they really aren't. :(

    • carrieholder

where do i get the new walgreen coupon booklet thought it would be in sundays paper but it was not in there

      • Carrie

They are in the store in the same rack where the weekly flyers are. If you can't find them, ask an employee.

      • Lauren

In the store near the front door on a stand.

      • Marie

I just recently found them at my Wags. I've noticed my store takes a day or two to get everything up. It's a 24 hour store, not sure if that makes a difference..

    • megan10

So let me get this correct…if I buy the dove shampoo, pay $2 with the coupon, get $4 RR back, then go buy something for $4 or more that has RR's, then can I turn around and do the dove thing agin.

      • Carrie

Yes, as long as you aren't using the RRs from your Dove transaction to buy more Dove or any product owned by Dove.

        • thriftydivaclr

No actually the DOVE Coupon is rolling.. which means u can use it on the same product..

          • Stacie

How can you know if the coupon will roll? Does it say something different when it prints or do you just have to try it and see what happens?

            • thriftydivaclr

Ususally they don't roll.. But this has been.. Its has been all over blogs all day that it has been rolling.. All it takes is one person to try… Once it does.. we roll with it until we cant roll anymore :-)

            • Amy_Q

LOL! I like that… “we roll with it until we cant roll anymore”

          • Ashley

But, just to let you know Megan.. typically you can not buy a Dove and expect an RR to print if you paid for that Dove with a previous Dove RR. Someone just got wind that this one is rolling for some reason…. so on this one product, it will work.

            • Nicole

It wouldn't roll for me today at Wags in Tuscaloosa, AL :(

    • AmyFMSC

My Walgreens store didn't have the special 4-day ad running. Did anyone else have this issue at their store with no employees knowing what I was talking about?

    • My ad doesn't show the Wags vitamins as a $3 RR deal. Am I missing something or is this regional? It does show them as BOGO or BOGO50%, can't recall.

    • Kari

Ok so at my Walgreens the Ducolax comes with a 5 dollar rebate as well! So you can actually make 9 dollars in profit only on one item!

      • I saw a rebate form on mine too, but it says it ended 2009. Does yours?

        • Kari

mmmm…just checked mine ended 2/28/10 later than yours but still ended….oh well it was still a great deal!

        • carolyn090

i had a rebate that expired once, so i sent an email to the company ,and they said that it was an on going rebate .it doesnt hurt to ask.

    • NicJ

I just left Wags and I am very frustrated. They wouldn't take my $4 Dulcolax coupon right off the bat. She told me that they don't take Smart Source coupons at all anymore because so many are counterfeit. She gave me some song and dance about how the background had to be tamper-proof. When I showed her that it was, she told me it had to be in color. When I showed her on the coupon that it said it could be printed in B&W, she said “that's becauses it's counterfeit”. I didn't know what to do, it messed up my whole plan so I just left. She was not at all rude, she was nice about the whole thing, but has anyone else had this happen and what is Wags policy on these coupons?

      • jennifr1966

I realize that the bad apples (people who copy coupons, etc) spoil it for the rest of us. HOWEVER, I've seen on counters where these cashiers are supposed to be taught HOW to spot a copied one. (You can see the copier “look” about it.) Unfortunately, each store has the right to refuse the coupon, but I still find it ridiculous. Did you talk with the manager about it? If you feel too embarrassed, just tell him in the beginning, “I don't want trouble, but I'm new to this and just want to understand.” If you're lucky, the manager might push it on through! (That's happened to me at Wal-Mart, when a night cashier wouldn't take my printable coupon for medicine because “there's too much fraud.” I was sick as a dog and just told that to the manager, and said I knew others that were using this coupon with no problem. I didn't want trouble, but I just wanted to understand why mine was being denied. Without a word, he took it to a register and did it himself.

        • dr. coupon

I did end up talking to the regional manager the next day. She, too, was very nice and appologized for the confusion and said that she has apparently not explained the change to the store managers very well. She expained that because of fraud, they are now only taking IP coupons that have the “veri-fied” symbol on the right/bottom side. They are not refusing “all” smart source coupons, per se (even though I don't think that any of them have that symbol on them). I am fine with that answer, I understand that they have to do what they have to do. I am glad, though, that I know now and can prepare for that before going to the store.

    • the dove shampoo and dentek coupons were a no go, so i made up my own transactions, i had 5, with only one RR item and a filler. I ended up getting the dulcolax, simply saline (which worked out great because my son and i both have colds lol) and the 2 sudafed, plus toilet paper and garbage bags for $1 oop after RR and coupons! oh, plus, for my first transaction, i did the oral b/crest deal, but i chose the wrong toothpaste, so i didnt get the RR. i had her void it and went back and grabbed the right toothpaste and she wouldnt give me back my coupons. instead, she gave me back $9.00, when I only paid $5. something with the coupons. said that they'll get reimbursed for the coupons and i get full price as if i paid that was the first time. i guess i ended up making $4.00 off that? i dunno. she asked if it made sense, i said yes, but … does it? lol

      • carolyn090

if they keep your coupons and turn them in they will be paid for them , even if you return the items .so it is only fair to you that you get the money back for them . i look at my coupons as money so if they have to keep my coupon then i want the money for it, after all i buy my coupons on line or from the paper. i just hate it when that happens to me and i dont have anymore of those same coupons left. you know when you realy want/need something.

        • jennifr1966

Buying coupons online: how do you get them in time for a deal? or do you just buy them, taking a chance they'll be on sale?

          • carolyn090

when i buy on line most of the time i buy what i know is in the six week cycle ,i check the exp. date. i have always used thecouponmaster.com its easy to use.coupons are sold depending on value 0.05 – 0.20 each .alot of the time i find coupons w/ higher value than the ones i have ,or i will buy the ones i didnt get. i always buy b1g1 coupons bc when i shop a fla.b1g1 sale they will be free. sometimes it is hit and miss. the company only charges 0.50 fee on each order so i try and order only once every two weeks.then you just have to pay the shipping i get priorty(i think its 4.95) it takes about 3 days, if i order early morning on a week day.you may even get them the next day if you pay more for shipping.(im really cheap though) i think everyone should it once, i get so excited when the package comes, its better than christmas!

    • jhoran

There is a 1.50 peelie on some of the bottles that are in the sale. I had some from before and didn't think I could use them because of the picture in the flyer, but turns out the one with the peelie is included in the sale.

    • jhoran

There is a 1.50 peelie on some of the bottles of dove that are included in the sale.

    • wolverinehokie

      Read my coupon wrong :(

    • Laura K

What about the Halls cough drops $1/1 from today's paper? It is for 20 ct+ so free cough drops.

      • Jeri

I got two packs of hall's today for free. There is a $1 off 20-30 count in the sunday insert and there is a WAGs coupon for $.99 on halls 20-30 count. I combined them and got the package free. Since I happened to have two WAGS coupons and 2 sunday insert coupons, I did it again and ended up with two free packs. I made sure to get the regular cherry as pictured in the WAGS circular and NOT the sugar-free which were not on sale.

    • Barbara

The Walgreens in my area won't take coupons that are more than the cost of an item.
Example: Airwick 4 dollar coupon denied on Airwick on sale for 3.99. Has anyone else had this problem?

      • ivegotcutekids

I had this problem. I may try another wal-greens.

      • 3monkeysmom

I've used that coupon twice- yesterday, and the last time they were on sale. They did beep but the cashier pushed them through (two different stores).
The first time I used it I was only buying the AirWick and b/c the coupon was over the price, instead of adjusting it down the cashier said I had to buy something else to bring the total up to or over $4. So I had to buy a 60 cent candy bar to make up for a penny :-(
Yesterday I had other stuff. It beeped but she looked at the Airwick to make sure it was the right item and she pushed it through.

      • kidsallgone

OH!!! I just posted about that same thing happening just now to me. I'm glad to see that it wasn't just me that had that issue (though I'd be happier if it wasn't an issue at all)! Well I wish I had gotten a more coupon-friendly manager or cashier. Geez! Glad others had some better luck with cashiers adjusting the price. I might just return the stupid things and re-buy them using my coupons at a more coupon-friendly place. UGHHHHHHH!!! I hate when things should go so easy and it doesn't. And it didn't help when my cashier said, “Well, you should never expect to get something for free.” I wanted to punch her! LOL!

        • 3monkeysmom

It's funny the cashier said that when the Walgreens ad actually says “like getting purchase free after register rewards,” on the RR deals :-)

      • Barb

No, I used mine last night.

I bought two for $3.99 each and used the $4 coupons. I also had other items in my transaction. Nothing beeped.

    • Wendy

I get the Walgreens sneak peek add, and I am almost positive I saw, in the side bar, that Charmin was supposed to be on sale for 3.99. But it is not at the store–did anyone else see this or was I dreaming? Thanks,

    • Sara

I heard the dove RR is rolling so I went into my Millbrook, AL wags today at 11 and bought one dove with $2 coupon, got a $4RR. Did a 2nd transaction with dove, vitamins, $2 coupon, $4 RR and another $4RR printed out for the Dove, along with a $3RR for the vitamins!

      • Amy_Q

Yep, Dove IS rolling!!! My friend told me this yesterday and I tried it out today! (I actually just posted a note about it down below before I saw your post =)

        • balta1701

Does anyone know whether the Dove RR is still rolling today? It'd be really helpful if anyone knows.

    • socoupon

Don't think it's listed here, but WAGS has Oreos on sale for $1.99. If you buy a gallon of milk (at my WAGs it is $2.69/gal) with the cookies, you'll get $1 off. If you still have your free Oreo cakesters coupon, you can used that too. That would be $3.68 for all three before tax!

I haven't done it yet since I didn't have the Cakester coupon with me yesterday, but I plan to!

    • Amy_Q

OK, y'all, Don't know if this has already been posted, but I wanted to let you know…
Walgreens RR are ROLLING on the Dove haircare. Buy the first one at $4 (coupons available) then get your RR for $4, You CAN use the RR on your next Dove product. I'm sure it's a glitch and will be fixed eventually, but a friend of mine found it yesterday. She tried it again today at a different Wags and it still worked. She called me and I went to a different Wags than the first two and it worked there, too!

Buy each bottle in a separate transaction. Pay OOP for the first one- don't forget your coupon, then use your RR on the next one and you only pay the tax! There seems to be no limit, the RR just keep on coming!

    • Rachel

FYI: There is a $5.00 coupon for Dulcolax in the Smart Start insert I received in the mail today. I'm in Birmingham, AL.

    • Can you use the RR on prescriptions?

      • Amy_Q

        Leslie- I don't think so.

    • kidsallgone

OK, my first experience at Walgreens and I guess I was mistaken on how I thought it would work. I wanted to get 3 Airwick Kits on sale for $3.99 and a box of $1.00 Whoppers. I scanned all 4 items and then attempted to scan my coupons for $4.00 off, $4.00 off, and $5.00 off. All off the Airwicks. I figured the $1.00 overage would go towards the candy; but the manager on duty said that because my coupons were more than the items, it wouldn't work. I was soooooo disappointed. I thought I was going to score some freebies! I suggested him changing the price of the Airwick kit to $4.00, but he said he couldn't do that. So I said, “Because of a 3 cent difference, you're going to lose a sale for $11.97?” And he said he was sorry, but he didn't know what else to do. I searched in my coupon binder and found (3) $3.00 off coupons and used those and paid the difference, paying .99 for each one. It was still a bargain, but still a disappointment. Please advise me on whether I was mistaken or he was. He was very nice and patient (but not the cashier in cosmetics). Thank goodness I wasn't in the line at the front of the store or the customers would have SHOT ME! Comments please…thanks so much!!

      • Amy_Q

I'm not an expert on Walgreens, but my understanding is that most Walgreens stores will not accept a coupon for more than the price of the item. They can adjust the COUPON value down to the price of the item (in your example, adjust the $4 coupon to $3.99)
I think it depends on the store. Some stores will take the coupon and the “overage” will be applied to other items, but some won't.
I hope this helps, and any of you other Wags peeps feel free to correct me if I'm wrong =)

        • Ashley

I got 6 of these for free. My first order, the cashier was very knowledgeable and adjusted the coupon price to 3.99. I went back and got more and a different cashier didn't know what to do when it wouldn't go through, so she dialed the manager over the phone, and he just said to throw in a filler item(candy bar), and then it'll work, and it did.

Your mileage may vary with any given store/cashier/manager so it's always best to be proactive and suggest adjusting the coupon value, not the product's value. Or play it safe and throw in a filler item, and it should go through.

          • Ashley

Also, it looks like you had $1.02 in overage. Therefore, it looks like you were shy 2 cents since the candy was only $1. I am not aware of a $5 coupon that was available for the 3.99 Airwick anyway. Possibly, the register was beeping because it was not the correct coupon. Yes, it's all pretty confusing but you'll get the hang of it much better over time.

            • I've got 2 $5 coupons for them waiting right here.

            • Barb

I believe the $5 ones are for a larger model. They are $7.49 at Wag this week. There are actually three kinds and each coupon is for a different kind.

I too do not believe there is a $5 for the smaller ones.

    • Amy_Q

I'm not so good at the Walgreens thing, yet. I usually end up spending much more OOP than I do at CVS or Rite-Aid. I'm trying to learn their system, though, because it looks like they have had some good deals the past couple of weeks. SO…I have a couple of questions for some of you Walgreens savvy people-
Can somebody please remind me of the purpose of the “filler” items? Can you give me an example of when you might need them?
Also- I know that Jenny says to use the Wags flyer Qs LAST because they are “price changing codes” instead of coupons, but how does that work? Does it really make a difference? My Walgreens cashier got kind of snippy when I asked her to do the mfr Qs first and the Wags ones last. She said it didn't matter, that it would be the same thing.

      • Ashley

The purpose of filler items is only in case you are going to have more coupons than you do items. RR's are considered “coupons”, so if you had 5 items and 5 regular manufacturer coupons, but you wanted to pay with an RR(sixth coupon), you would have to grab a sixth item…. so you can't have more coupons than items.

Another important thing to know is that the register does not consider Walgreens store coupons as coupons. So, you never have to grab a filler to cover their store coupons.

I've been doing this since November, but I think you might have it backwards(I don't shop much at Walgreens anymore). I think the Wags go first, then MQ. It absolutely does matter in the case of an overage situation. If they were not given in the correct order, a possible overage you could have had to pay for your other items in your order will not happen.

Look it up in Jenny's search box, or go to the Walgreens getting started guide and it you should find it there.

        • Amy_Q

Thanks, Ashley for you help. I thought that was the purpose of the filler items, but I wasn't sure.
As for the order of the coupons, in Jenny's workbook from her workshop it says to use store coupons last and the this is most important at Walgreens. It says that “you want the computer to think that the item is full price when you use your coupon. Then use the store coupon to reduce the price.”
I usually do it this way, but don't really understand the “why” of doing it. I wonder if it really makes a difference and if it's worth trying to convince the cashier to do it my way if he/she gets snippy like the one did today.
Maybe Jenny will see this or someone who is a Wags fan and they can enlighten us! Again, thanks for your help!

          • If the cashier says “it doesn't matter”, then tell her to do it your way. Sometimes it doesn't matter too much, but other times it makes a noticeable difference in OOP.

            • Amy_Q

Thanks for your reply, DeeDee. Can you explain to me how it DOES work? Maybe give an example if you can? I'm trying to “wrap my head around it” but can't quite see how it makes much of a difference.

            • one that comes to mind is when some thing has an in ad coupon for , say 99 cents and it has a 1.00 coupon. Scan the items at full cost, deduct your manufacturer coupon first allows you to use the Q no matter what, then scan the store Q and it deducts or alters the actual price of the item. SOME stores won't sell you the item if you use a coupon that is a penny over the cost. Dumb, I know but some on here have that problem.

          • Taylor

You want to give the store coupons last for this reason: If a store coupon makes a toothbrush $.99 and you have a manufacturer's coupon for $1 off, the register could reject your coupon because the items is less than $1. Even though you are technically allowed to still use the coupon, it makes life a lot easier if you just give the store coupons last, especially if you are using a manufacturer's coupon for an item you are also using a store coupon for.

            • Amy_Q

Makes sense, now! Thank you Taylor.

          • jhoran

It really does not make a difference. The only time it does is when the manu. q and the wag q. combined gives you overage. If you use the wags first, it will deduct that amount and then when you put the manu. q it will adjust the price so you would lose the overage. So in essence, you would put the manu. q first and then the wags. so as to force the register to give you the overage. A classic example of that was the Benydryl deal.

      • Carrie

My OOP for WAGS is always higher than for CVS as well. A lot of weeks, I come out of CVS spending $1 something but come out of WAGS spending anywhere from $5 – $20 OOP.

    • Mom2Ryley

I went to Wags today and am totally confused and ticked off. I don't know why I continue to go there. I hate the RR system. The RR for the Dulcolax wouldn't print and the cashier couldn't tell me why. I ended up with the Manager and a LONG line behind me and I was totally embarrassed. Even he couldn't explain to me why it wouldn't print. I paid for the transaction with a $10 RR I got from Zyrtec last week. He said b/c I paid with an RR then it wouldn't print an RR for Dulcolax (which I have done this before so I know that's not the reason). Here is a run down of my transaction:

      1 Dulcolax @ $8.99
      2 Playtex Sport Tampons @ $3.99ea.
      4 Swanson can chicken Broth @ $1.39
      3 Miracle Bubbles, 8 oz.@ $.79ea.
      Used:
      -$3.00 off Dulcolax
(2)-$1.00 off Playtex Wags April coupon book
      (2)-$1.00 off Playtex manuf. q
-$.69ea. Swanson can chicken broth in-ad coupon
-$.40/4 Swanson can chicken broth manuf. coupon
      -3 for $1.00 Miracle Bubbles in-ad coupon
      -10 RR from Zyrtec
      Paid:
      $2.29 including tax
      Supposed to Get:
      $7RR for Dulcolax

      What am I not seeing?

      • jessc5

I only know of the $9.99 Dulclax get $10 RR. Did you get the wrong one?

      • Carrie

My first thought was the same as jessc5, did you buy the wrong one? If your RR doesn't print, you can e-mail the catalina company. I think the contact info is on any of the RRs. That reminds me that I need to follow up on one I need to get reimbursed for (mine didn't print because the machine ran out of paper and the manager said that they can't control printing them manually like CVS can when theirs messes up). Love CVS for many, many reasons! But I love my two cosmetics ladies at my WAGS!!

        • Mom2Ryley

Sorry you guys, I mistyped. I had just rechecking what Jenny wrote at the top and I think I combined the simply saline in there somehow. ;P lol I was doing it from memory. I ended up returning everything, b/c that scenario wasn't at all what I wanted, and they were sold out of most things I needed so in the end I decided to return it all and try another Walgreens that's a little further from my house that fellow couponers don't frequent too often. :) I can't find my voided receipt now to check, so maybe that was the problem. I picked the bottle up that had the advertised sale price in front of it, but they could have placed the price sticker in front of the wrong one…. Anyway, sorry :)

          • I picked up the wrong one, as they had the sing in fornt of the 7.99 one instead of the $10 bottle.. I had them void it all and I started over. The gal was not happy with me!!

      • Taylor

Perhaps you bought the wrong size Dulcolax. In my ad and at my Wags, it's the 14 day bottle (the bigger one) – you spend $10 and get a $10 RR.

    • Chrissy25

This morning at Walgreens Veterans Parkway, Columbus, GA — there was a $3 Manufacturer's Coupon( exp. 6/30/10) on the Dulcolax bottle and Rebate Form that has expired.

I found a coupon for Got 2B styling products, BUT you can only use one. (Better than none, at least!)

      • Leah_in_SC

This coupon expired June 2009. Sorry!

    • RebeccaFer

Thanks Jenny! I rolled my $5 RR into $30 RR and only used $12 +tx oop to get it. I then took that over to HT and used it at Triples. I bought $107.90 worth of groceries for $1.56!!!! $20 of it was a Rx Transfer q from HT and $14 was RR from Wags but I still have another $16 worth of RRs to use tomorrow for the last day of Triples!!! YEAHHHH!!!! Thanks so much for all your help and sharing the knowledge! :D

FILLER ITEM question: I hear that people will spend, say, 10 cents for a filler item. I can't find anything less than 59 cents, without an in-ad coupon. Could someone suggest some cheap items that are close to 10 cents? Thanks!

      • 3monkeysmom

I always check the clearance. Yesterday I found some 1 subject notebooks that were 10 cents :-)
Also, the plastic easter cups are 13 cents this week but you WILL need the in-ad coupon for that :-)

      • balta1701

Usually what I'll do is buy something that is at a decent price anyway. For example, those cans of vegetables this week are at a price that's about $.10-$.20 above my usual buying price. If I figure that I'm just costing myself an extra 10 cents on something I'm 100% guaranteed to use anyway, then I'm not that mad because that 10 cents allows me to use the coupon on the other item I actually care about.

      • Barb

        For sure check the clearance.

My filler items were 15 piece packs of Extra fruit gum for .32 and large Ferrara chocolate bars for .50. I just ate some of that luscious Belgian chocolate.

Other times I have gone to clearance and gotten .15 pocket highlighters.

    • anna

does anyone know if you can use the 5 for $13 on canned cokes at cvs today and still get the cvs reward bucks back? the coupon in the walgreens ad says manufacturer's coupon…?

    • lorhop

Does anyone know if you submitted for an Olay Professional's rebate of $20.00 the last time it rolled around (maybe Feb) if you can submit another one for the one that runs from 3-12 to 4-9? It is too expensive to buy without the rebate for sure!

      • balta1701

Usually, as long as the dates on the rebate are different you're in good shape. Check the fine print on your rebate form to make sure…if it doesn't say anything about “not being eligible if you've received another rebate from Olay” then you're in good shape.

    • lorhop

Can you submit and receive the Olay Professional's rebate of $20.00 if you participated in the last rebate in February?

Catalina/RR Question for you guys: (This one may require an expert.)

On my Wags trip today, I had 5 transactions, rolling RRs with all except the first. On my 3rd transaction, there was supposed to be a 5$ RR for buying 3 Cottonelles. I had 3 Cottonelle plus a filler, used the $1.00 in-store coupon, 2 $1.00 mfr Qs and a .50 mfr Q. Then used 5$ Tylenol RR from previous transaction, and didn't get the 5$ RR from the Cottonelle. The manager came and helped me, and he was saying that you can't roll RRs from one transaction to the next. (Though it worked fine on all my other transactions.) And then he said that this is CATALINA's policy, not a store policy or the manufacturers policy. I said I didn't think that makes sense, because they still get paid by the manufacturer, whether we roll the RRs or not, it's still a mfr coupon that the mfr pays for. And he says, no, WE pay Catalina, not the manufacturers. And he said that's why Catalina print on the back, not valid with any other offer. ??? I don't know, but he confused the heck out of me. So, does anyone know if there's any truth to it? Why would Wags pay Catalina for the amount of the coupon? I don't think that could be right. Maybe this was just a case of not printing a RR for the same dollar amount, as someone as said happens to them?

      Here's my whole sequence:
      1. Dove Shampoo, 4.00
      use $1.50 coupon
Total: $2.50 plus tax, get back 4$ RR
      2. 2 Children's Tylenol @ 4.99 = 9.98
      1 salt .50 w/ in-store Q
      use $3/2 Tylenol Q
      use 4$ RR
Total: 3.48 plus tax, get back 5$ RR
      3. Buy 3 Cottonelle 12-roll @ 5.00 = 15.00
      1 filler @ .12
      use 1.00 store Q, off 3 = <3.00>
      use 2 @ 1.00 mfr Q and 1 .50 mfr Q = <2.50>
      use 5$ RR
Total: $4.50 plus tax SHOULD get back 5$ RR, but didn't generate.
(Manager ended up printing it at cosmetics.)
      4. Buy Dulcolax @ 10.00
      1 Paas @ .99
      use $4.00 mfr Q
      use 5$ RR
Total: $1.99 plus tax, get back 10RR
      5. Olay Regenerist microdermabrasion kit, clearance $15.00
      use 3.00 Regenerist Q
      use 10RR
Total: 2.00 plus tax, nothing back.

I'm not upset, because I got great deals, but I just don't understand where the glitch was, and the manager was going on and on arguing, though not in a mean way. I even told him to never mind and I'd just skip the Cottonelles, but he preferred to fix it, but kept harranguing me the whole time. So, can anyone figure out what went wrong with transaction #3? Thanks!

      • megan10

if i'm correct i think you needed to buy one more filler item….but not positive about that.

      • Ashley

Looks like you had 4 items and 4 coupons(3 MQ and 1 RR), so there should have been no problems as long as you purchased the RIGHT cottonelle. The Walgreens register/system is always the worst compared to other stores in my experience…very finicky. But, I have heard some say re-ringing the order and throwing in ANOTHER filler item will do the trick sometimes.

      • Amy_Q

Looks to me like it SHOULD have worked. Also, that manager was incorrect about catalina payments. Walgreens DOES get reimbursed for those cats FROM the mfr. The mgr at my hometown Wags was hanging out at the register when I checked out yesterday and we were talking. He was laughing about my multiple transactions. I asked him if it bothered them when people did this. He said, “Absolutely not. We get reimbursed from the manufacturer for it, so either way, we make money from the sale.”

        • gingerinCA

Thank you! That's what I was trying to tell him, but he was just not listening or making sense.
I am going to make a point of looking for RRs that are NOT the same amount as the one being generated. I don't know why it would be, but I have heard people say you can't use one for the same amount as the one being generated, and I'm starting to suspect it may be right. That is the second time I've had that happen at the same Wags, and both times, the one I paid with was the same amount as the one that didn't print.
Sigh. I wish Wags didn't make it so hard, but sometimes they are worth it.

        • MFree

i had my first wags experience last night here in nashville, tn, and the store manager told me that i couldn't use any internet printed coupons in her store, nor could i use a RR and a manufacturer's coupon in the same transaction! She actually said it's to prevent people from paying little to nothing or getting stuff free! She went to the back and got a laminated copy of her (unposted) store policy. Apparently the cashier didn't know about it either, because he had already rung up several transactions for me. Bless his heart, he had never rung up ANY coupons before (subbing from photo dept?) and was frustrated and calling a manager every other minute. I had everything-fillers and all- in the basket and my list organized in order of how to do the transaction. I even did one transaction at a time then went to the end of the line and waited so he wouldn't get backed up! At least i got almost everything on my list! Would've spent less and got more, but didn't get back one RR,use rest of my internet coupons and couldn't finish my deals! Thanks for all of the great info-had fun anyway!

      • michelle

I agree that you might have needed another item, but I guess I am missing where 5RR print for cottonelle?

    • Lisa

Today in my first transaction I bought the Walgreens vitamins ($3 get 3RR) and the Dentek floss ($2 get 2RR). In my second transaction, I bought the Simply Saline and two small filler items and used the both of the RR's that I got in the first transaction. The RR for the Simply Saline didn't print and the cashier/manager didn't know why. He said that I must have bought the wrong one, but it was the same as the one that was pictured. Anyone know another reason why it wouldn't have printed? I want to go back to another Walgreens and try again, but I don't want the same thing to happen. Thanks!

      • Lisa

It has to be the dark colored bottle, not the white one.

    • BB

Can anyone help me with some information I need? Does anyone know if you have to purchase the ConAgra $10 all on one receipt. I just added mine and it is $9.78. I have another receipt I could send with it if they would accept it. Also does anyone have the 1800 number for the $10 rebate from February for The Aveeno, Clean & Clear, Purpose,or Lubriderm products. I mailed mine January 18th and have not heard anything.

      • gingerinCA

I don't think the Con Agra has to be all on one receipt. )Hope not!) I just sent mine, and they were on separate receipts.

      • Jessthere

You can send in multiple recipts, I believe I sent in 3 recipts and received my coupons.

    • Hannah

I just noticed on the four-day sale that Just for Men Shampoo and Conditioner is free after register rewards and there is a $1 Q at the link below in case anyone is interested. :)

Deep sigh::: My shopping experience at Walgreens today, was an experience!!!! I purchased a dove shampoo and used my $2.00 coupon. Yeah my total was $2.28! Expecting my $4.00 register rewards to print. I waited. I waited and Nope, No reward!!! Called the manager over and he explained to me that it was my fault for using the coupon, that the reward would NOT print!! I explained to him that his advertisement suggested looking into the Sunday paper for Additional Saving coupons. He told me I was wrong and I should not have used the coupon!!!! ( I feel his machine was broken and he didnt want to admit it!!) It was broken 2 months ago and I avoided the store!! Needless to say ….. The outcome was. He refunded me $2.14! .14 cents less than what I paid!!! Handed me back my coupon. and kept the shampoo!! I did call Walgreens and report the matter, however I fell I should have called the police and made a theft report! lol Didnt want to waist the policemans time. Just another reason why I love CVS!!!

      • megan10

The store was actually correct…you needed to buy a filler item…from what ive read since you used a coupon, it wont print out a register reward because the register reward is like a manufactuer coupon, you would have had to buy 2 items for the register reward to print, i was confused about this too until i just read about it….next time buy a filler item for like 30 cents or the cheapest thing you can find and your register reward will print…sorry for your experience.

        • megan10

actually disregard my comment above….i dont think that I was correct….i found this online…When doing a deal that earns Register Rewards you CAN use coupons! Coupons have no effect on the deal. If the Reward doesn’t print then you either bought the wrong items/not enough items or there is a problem with the system/Catalina machine. Usually the manager will resolve it

        • Faithd

Thanks so much for the information

          • gingerinCA

I think your first instinct is correct- broken or out-of-paper Catalina. That's assuming you've picked up the right Dove. The manager should have fixed it, and I don't think it's at ALL right that he didn't refund you the whole amount. If he couldn't even refund what you paid, clearly he didn't know what he was doing. Seems like there are a lot of glitches going on at Wags this week.

          • Ashley

I have heard that some Walgreens in the country will never print an RR if a coupon was used on the order. My stores aren't like that in Greenville, SC but like I said, that's what some people on here have said. Maybe try a different store to figure out what's going on in your area.

        • Faithd

If the store is correct, then why does does Jenni suggest? Scenario Idea
          Transaction #1
          Buy:
          (1) Dove Shampoo $4
          (1) Dentek Floss 55 yd. $2
          Use:
          -$2 off Dove printable
          -$1 off Dentek SS 1/17
          Total Due: $3
          Get Back: $6 RR ($4, $2)

          • megan10

Read my comment below…i said disregard that comment.

        • Brooke82

The manager was wrong and was probably trying to hide the fact that the machine was broken like she said. These managers need to learn how to handle customers! I still love Walgreen's though :)

    • Stacie

Does anyone know if the dove shampoo RR is still rolling into itself?

      • beth963

I just tried an hour ago and it didn't roll for me, but I saw somebody yesterday do it and it did roll. So maybe they just fixed it today :(

      • Amy_Q

Nope =( They fixed it sometime yesterday. I know the mgr at Wags in my hometown and he said that they had gotten e-mail alerts about it and that is was corrected.

    • Nelanie

WOW! I just returned from Wal-Greeens…my total OOP $13.13 and my total would have been $42.61 if I didn't have coupons and sales!!! Thanks Jenny for helping us to save money…you have completely changed the way I shop. Also, thanks to all the nice cashiers at the Wal-Green's in Milledgeville, GA! It's a great place to shop!!!

    • Jeri

Anybody get the Betty Crocker warm delights? I absolutely love those things and this week at WAGS they are on sale for 1.00 which is a great price by itself considering they are normally 2.29-2.50 each. There was a .75/1 in last Sunday’s paper and I have printed a ton of .50/1 from coupons.com

I was able to score them for .25-.50 each!

    • japan92254

Dulcolax told me that offer had expired – no coupon – :(

      • beth963

On every bottle of Dulcolax that I have seen there have been hang tags with a $3.00 off coupon.

    • wolverinehokie

I purchased the Accu-Check, but the rebate in the box said it needed to be post marked by Dec 2009. Does anyone know if it will still go through? Also, I was reading they might only reimburse actual money spent on it so if I use the coupon, the rebate will be for less. Can anyone confirm this?

      • Brooke82

I bought one from Publix last week. My rebate form didn't have a date so I don't know about that. As for the money spent only being reimbursed, the coupon showed at the very bottom of my receipt so I just tore that part off. These stores need to advertise the truth before people start buying products thinking they are getting a full rebate.

    • socoupon

I goofed and bought the neopsporin and band-aid without getting the free first aid kit! Was this in the paper in the GSP area? Is there a coupon I missed?

      • Amy_Q

Try taking your receipt back in and see if they will give it to you. Might work.

    • Meme

Were the Cottonelle Wipes 1.99 w/in-ad coupon regional? Mine cost me $3.99 each and I used a .50/1 coupon with each. I looked in the April coupon book and the sales paper for the week and didn't find a store coupon for the wipes, just the bathroom tissue. What area code was the ad for? This may clarify why I was charged so much. Even the cashier made the comment that the wipes were going to ring up cheap, because I was trying to come up with a total after coupons of $10 plus to use a $10 RR I had from last week. As usual all the RR items were out of stock, so I was having a hard time getting my transactions to count up and give me back some RR's for next time. I ended up with no RR's. I did the math and saved about 75% but I still can't come out with good deals. Really frustrates me when I spend so much time on couponing.

    • RJ13

Does Walgreens stack manf. and store coupons?

      • Brooke82

        Yes they do :)

    • wileyfaust

Be careful of the simply saline, I bought one in two transactions and it was showing a price of $9.99 and I did not get a RR. I had to show the manager the ad and he had to give me the saline free…

      • Amy_Q

Yep, you have to buy the one in the BLUE can. The cans are the exact same size and have the same wording, but the blue on is the one that is on sale and giving the RR. I finally found the blue can today and bought it without any problems. RR printed as advertised =)

    • kashlea

I went to WAGs & they did not have Campbell’s Cream Soup on sale??

      • gran

Soup will ring up regular price, then you give them the coupon in the ad, and after they scan it, it will be 79 cents

        • kashlea

I realized that they were looking in the weekly ad…when in fact, it was in the 4 day sale “sneak peak” ad…i am heading back with the sneak peak ad tomorrow.

          • Jeri

Where did you get the sneak peak ad? My WAGs in Indian Land didn't even know what I was talking about and none of the stuff like the soup, etc was on sale.

I was able to do the regular ad deals like Dove, Ducolax, etc just not the other ad…

            • kashlea

I usually get them in the mail. It come with WAGs & CVS ad for the following week, which is nice. I'm not sure how i get it, but i think it's something local b/c i usually get my local grocery store ad as well.

    • pharmSCgirl

I went into Walgreens last night to get another thing of Dove Shampoo and I turned my $2 RR from the Dentek Floss into a $4 RR (It's like majic). I made a comment to my boyfriend that I was going to use my RR at Publix for free groceries and the clerk (who is super nice and somewhat educated about how the RR work – like not to use a RR from the same Manufacturer to get another) said “Oh no, you can only use RR at Walgreens” It was so nice to be able to educate her that Publix takes them since they are manufacturer coupons. She was shocked that all this time she had been using her RR at Walgreens when she could have been getting free groceries.

      • whitneybutler

Do all Publix do this or is it just ones with a walgreens really close by?

      • April

Our Harris Teeters take them too! ;-) Yay for making money at Walgreens to use on groceries!

    • Brooke82

The Walgreen's Ad in Arlington, Tx shows the dove shampoo and conditioner for $4 with a $4 RR. It also shows a different brand, not sure what brand, of men's body wash for $4.99 with a $4.99 RR! Man if I lived there that would be a good deal for multiple transactions!

    • Ok so I am new to Walgreens but understand it fairly well. Today at the Store located at the corner of 31 and 261/helena rd in birmingham I got so mad I just left my stuff in the buggy and walked out. I was doing Jenny's scenario exactly and then with the remaining RR I was buying easter candy. I did all three just perfect then went to get my candy and was going to do all three again and get candy again. Well when i went to do my second round it was a different cashier and she said I can only do 2 transactions I said thats fine i have a few more things I want to pick up. She said no I just verified it I can only do 2 transactions. I said fine just do this one then she said if you have anything that will print register rewards they have to all be done in one transaction because there is a limit of one. I said fine just do this one and I will leave the rest. Has anyone ever heard of them not allowing you to roll your rewards on different products?
