The beginning of the year is always a time filled with plans and goals for what’s ahead. Mine usually involve more saving, making time to workout and taking more opportunities to play with my kids.
To accomplish all those things, meal planning is a vital part of making our week run like clockwork. I like to sit down with the new ads, survey what’s on hand in the pantry and set a menu for the week that doesn’t involve hours of cooking, but incorporates healthy ingredients. Thanks to coupons, we are often able to just grab meat, produce, perishables and a few sale items at the store.
Following the sale cycles doesn’t just save us money, we also save a lot of time because we aren’t always running out to the store for forgotten ingredients. Here is a healthy menu plan based on the sale items this week (with a few pantry staples thrown in).
