A favorite way to save on back to school shopping is getting it all TAX FREE!!   If you live in an area that is offering 2026 back to school tax free weekends it can definitely be worth waiting to get your large ticket items like computer and clothes.

Check out the list of 2026 Back to School Tax Free weekend dates for each state.  We have a few changes this year.  New Jersey has removed their tax free weekend, but excited to add Illinois to the list for the first time since 2020!  A few states have also increased purchase limits or extended date (go Florida for hitting an entire month)!

Whether you shop locally in-store or online you’ll get all items tax free during the dates for your state.  Sales tax will be calculated based on where your order ships.

Savings Tip: If your area is not running a tax free weekend,  shop online and have items mailed to family in other states to get it tax free on their state’s weekend.
