I have it on good authority that this Friday, Nov. 20th,  in The State Paper (Columbia, SC) there is a $10 off coupon for Piggly Wiggly Grocery Stores.  This will probably run in most major papers in the Carolina’s and Georgia that have The Pig nearby.

Remember this can be used at Piggly Wiggly or other Grocery Stores that accept competitor coupons!

(thanks Jill!)

Don’t forget you can also print a $5 off $25 from Save-A-Lot.

(thanks Angela!)

    • Dale

My paper had a sticker on the front page for $10 off $75 at the Pig, valid from 11/20 through 11/28.

      • kathi

Jinx you owe me a coke

      • Susan

        Is this in spartanburg, sc?

    • kathi

There is a $10 one on the Post and Courier today but you have to spend $75 (precoupon; IF you have other q’s have them scan the $10 one first)

    • JEB

      Sorry Jenny,

Realized it was $10 off after I first posted and emailed. I think $10 off $75 would be hard for me to do!

      • Alisha

If you purchase mostly meat and have coupons for all other items you should do well.

      • kathi

I agree w/ Alisha. I always buy boneless breast of chicken (enough for the month) at my Pig because I can get it for $1.99 a lb. W/ a $10 off of 75 (if I’d not already bought chicken for the month and have the anticipation of several months worth of turkey coming up AND there were some good sales on meat) I probably could use it. That is probably partially because I budget for the month rather than the week (that is how we get paid so it is just easier for me) and because I have an awfully extensive pantry and freezer–seriously I didn’t have time to shop for the last 3 weeks (series of minor emergencies) so the only items purchased were bread and milk and we probably could have gone another 4-6 weeks except that the food was getting “boring”. Today I finally got a chance to coupon and I jazzed up the vegetable and cereal supply but if I find some good bargains on meat that is in need of jazzing up too.

        • Alisha

Thanks, Kathi! Whenever Publix puts these type coupons out I use mine at Publix b/c I can utilize my coupons better.:)

          • Alisha

I meant Piggly Wiggly not Publix…LOL

            • kathi

If I had a reasonably close Publix I would probably use this kind of q there too. Publix is just really out of my way so unless I can save more than $10 (more than what I would get at BiLo, Pig or FL) it just is not going to happen.

          • Rina

New to couponing & have been getting my best deals from Publix. Just wanted to know if there is a limit to how many competitor’s coupons I can use per visit. Target has some good coupons but I always feel bad giving them coupons that were made to be used at another store.
Any advice would be very helpful.

            • candy

most publix stores do not take target coupons. some take super target if there is one in the area. Publix looses money on these coupons that are competitor store coupons.

    • MelRae

Can someone tell me the expiration date on the $5 off $25 Save-a-Lot coupon? I feel sure my Publix would accept it, since there is a Save-a-Lot in the area.

    • Jenny

      The Save-a-Lot Expires 11/30/2009

    • JEB

Will the Lexington,SC Publix accept coupon from Save-a-lot?

      • CouponNERD

I’d ask at Customer Service before trying to use it… I did that today, and they took it at the Gervais Pl location down by USC.

        • Elyn

Glad to hear this because the one on Rosewood will not accept it.

      • I tried to use it at the location on Hard Scrabble Road (Columbia)but they said no. :(

      • Elizabeth

I used the Save-a-Lot $5 coupon at the Gervais St. Publix today. And, my total spent $81 and my savings was $103!!!! That’s a personal best!

    • Renie

I haven’t seen a $5 coupon for Publix in months. You would think Thanksgiving they could offer a little coupon love????

    • donna

So does that mean you can try to use this coupon at Publix?? Only if there is a Piggly by it??

      • JEB

If you have both stores in your area, and your Publix considers them a competitor, and they accept competitor coupons, then you should be able to use at Publix.

    • Mel

I use my Pig $10 off $75 at the Publix on Forest Drive today with no problem. That grocery store was loaded with coupons everywhere!

    • Jenna

I used it at the Hardscrabble Publix with no problems

    • dana

I’ve been through the paper (the state) 3x page by page specifically in search of this coupon. Can you tell me WHERE it was – please. (thanks!)

      • JEB

It was a sticky post it note on the front page of Friday’s State Paper.

    • JEB

I just got back from Publix and used a Food Lion $10 off $25 order coupon I had almost forgotten about that I got in the mail. I did not think I would have enough to use the $25 off $75 Piggly Wiggly coupon, so I used the Food Lion one instead. I had my 3 year old clinging to my leg as I shopped. If she had not been with me, I could have paid closer attention and totaled up on my calculator and realized it…That would have made my entire order free and maybe a little overage! For the first time ever! I had coupons for all but 3 things. Instead I paid $13.19 and saved $57.10…I also had a reporter that had called me earlier about doing a story about shopping with coupons this week, but never heard back from her…That would have been a good story! She missed out.

      • Jenny

That would have been a great trip to catch!
