Yet another banner week with around 27 papers represented here!  Looking forward to a great February!

Here are the differences in the coupon inserts you received Sunday 1/30.

Click on the paper near you to see what coupons were actually in the inserts around the Southeast. Check out the differences to really get an idea of what paper is the best to buy.

A few ways to use these lists:

  1. If you see that you did not get a coupon that was released, you can go to online coupon sites and order it.
  2. Print the list for your area and keep it with your inserts to quickly know if you have that coupon.
  3. Use it as a way to decide what paper is the best paper in your area to buy.

Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A Change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.

As folks send me the lists I will update this page.

    • Kris

I'm sorry, I only sent the insert variation this week for Huntsville Times. I didn't do Decatur Daily. I would bet that everything is the same with the exception of the SS insert. Decatur Daily has stopped carring the SS insert. I switched my subscription to Huntsville Times.

I talked to Decatur Daily this afternoon and the word I got THIS time is that they don't plan to carry the SmartSource inserts and that coupons are available on line. But if you coupon, you know that they don't carry the same coupons online.

    • Fran Aultman

What if we can't click on our paper? Savannah Morning News?

    • Meme

How does the Charlotte, NC paper do with coupon inserts? Are they usually slack in the coupons or have most of them? I will be in that area this weekend and will have to purchase my newspapers there or arrange for someone to get me some in my hometown. Thanks for reply.

      • Madpaulmom

I have been doing the Clt Observer for a while. While we might not get all listed, we get a lot of extra ones too that Jenny hasn't listed. I think it is a good group of coupons.

    • Miocco

I don't think I got the Smart Source insert in my Knoxville News Sentinel. Anyone else from Knoxville who did get it?

      • Teresa

        I received one in mine.

      • Amy

I only received P&G and 1 Red plum!

      • Bessie

I received all 4 inserts in mine.

        • Amy

Do you have your paper delivered or do you buy them at a store?

      • Nichole

All I got was the small Redplum insert in mine.

      • Miocco

Where are you getting them? Once again this week I bought two papers and both were missing one of the inserts! I called KNS and they said there is no difference in subscriptions so am I just getting bad papers every week?

    • Madpaulmom

Unfortunately I will not be able to do the Charlotte Observer anymore. Can anyone help Jenny out and take it over for me?

      • Kerry72nc

I assume this is Beth?? I didn't see it posted for this week. Will it be posted one last time and updated? I don't mind alternating weeks with someone. It's really helpful and I'd like to help keep it going.

        • Madpaulmom

I have not had time this week at all to even open up my inserts. Actually my Sunday paper is still sitting on the table, never looked at. With a possible move, terms papers, graduating kid, and everything else, my life is a bit upside down right now. And yes, this is Beth…sorry :)

        • Melissam72004

I'd be happy to help out too.

          • Saviorbucks

I've already started on the list for the upcoming Sunday since I get a red plum preview on Wednesdays, but I would love to alternate with others. Anyone who is interested can send me an email and we'll coordinate. SaviorBucks@gmail.com

            • Kerry72nc

I'm sending you an email :)

      • Saviorbucks

Thanks for all the work you've done so far, since I used the list so much I wouldn't mind helping out but I have too many obligations to do it every week. I would be willing to alternate with others. I'll need some basic instructions to get started. Thanks!

        • Madpaulmom

Saviorbucks and Kerry72nc…..that would be great! It is very simple. Just copy and paste Jenny's list into a word document. What I do is go thru the coupons and I mark the ones that are in the insert bold. If there is a change in value or something, I mark it blue. If a coupon is in the insert that Jenny does not have in her list, I add it in the appropriate spot and make it blue. After I am done with that insert, I go back and any that are not bold or blue are obviously not in the insert and I made them red. Real simple. You can email me at madpaulmom@aol.com if you are going to do this or need any more help. Thanks a bunch!

      • Saviorbucks

Okay. I went ahead and completed the list, I'll email to Jenny unless I hear otherwise. That'll take care of the week of 1/30. Hope I did it right!

    • Kristin

Carina, I don't know if you got a bad paper or not because 90% of the coupons that are in listed in red for the Atlanta paper were in mine. I bought 4 papers and they were in each one. A GREAT week for coupons! =)

      • Carinapeters

I went back through my paper and the ones in red I did not have. I have my AJC delivered and I am starting to wonder why I am missing inserts / coupons each week? Sorry. If you can not change the color from Jenny's upload I can email you my copy in a Word document so you can change the color? Just comment with your email address if you want me to send it!

        • purple

I started getting ajc delivered and 1st week I didn't get any inserts, I called ajc and they told me another would be delivered and checked to make sure, they said they would check every week before they delivered them. I haven't missed them since.

    • Jknight264

I purchased a Post & Courier from a newspaper stand….it had only ONE insert – smart source. My mom has the Post & Courier and the Sun News delivered to her home – she had all three inserts in her Sun News – but only Red Plum and Smart Source in the Post & Courier…what gives? I live in between Charleston SC and Myrtle Beach SC.

      • MorganOC

I live in MB, and I only got RP and SS in my Sun News that I bought at Kroger.

    • Coups

I don't believe the Augusta Chronicle list is accurate. None of the coupons are marked in red, and several were not in our paper.

    • Covenantfamilyfarm

I have a question concerning the Montgomery Advertiser. First, I do not get the paper delivered because I live too far away from the city. I do, however, try to buy one or more on Sunday afternoon at a store. I have not yet gotten a paper with all the previewed inserts. Now, I find a stand where I can look through a few paper before buying them to make sure the coupons are indeed in there. This past week, after looking through a few papers, I concluded that there just must not be a SmartSource this week. I was somewhat relieved today to learn that it must not have been in any of the papers. The two Red Plum inserts I got were VERY, VERY puny! They only included the blue or black coupons – no red ones. What do the different colors mean? Should a paper I buy at a grocery store have the same inserts as one from a gas station or paper box? I can find no consistency and after a 30 minute hold on the phone with the newspaper to get some answers, I just gave up and hung up. Any help and advice would be great.

      • Lala

I am having similar issues. I get the Montgomery Advertiser delivered to my house and it still does not have the coupons that are listed here for the Advertiser. I usually get the inserts that are listed, but they seem to have different coupons. Very frustrating.

      • hmands00

I live in Montgomery and tried their paper when we first moved here and found the same issues you were having.
I am now going to a gas station on Sundays and getting the Birmingham News. The only problem with that is….they usually only have the Smart Source coupons. No Red Plum (occasionally, but not often) and no P&G.

Maybe they carry the RP inserts on Wed or something? I'm with you….I tried e-mailing the Bham News about it and did not get a reply. No wonder newspapers are almost obsolete…..

    • Blackmambaprof

Has anyone else tried to copy/paste the lists from the .pdf documents here? Whenever I try to copy/paste the list from the Greenville News list of coupons, I get a long string of gibberish. (I don't like to print them out, but to paste them into a document that I can search). Is this happening to anyone else, and is there a way around this?

      • RebeccaFer

I've had issues with Word crashing when I try to copy and paste so may be my solution for that will help you. I've just brought up both so I can see them at the same time, highlighted the text, drag it to the document and it transfers no problem. HTHs you! :D

    • FreedomSpradley1

Jenny, do you guys add the blue “new coupons” in each regional list to the database? I love the updated coupon database but it would be absolutely perfect if you could add a column for selecting what region your paper comes from so the list is accurate to what your region receives. I hate wasting time looking for coupons that weren't included in my inserts. Thanks!

      • Lisa B

That's what these variation lists are for–you check the list for your paper before you go paging through your insert looking for the coupon.

    • Omercyngrace

I bought the Post & Courier & there were 0 coupons! I contacted them & received no response…a waste of $2

      • Mayocoupons

if you find that you get home with no coupons in the paper you should return to the store you purchased from and expain to them you are buying the papers for the coupons and return the papers to get new ones. Then if you are able to…check the new papers for the coupons before you leave the store to make sure they actually have the inserts. My sister in TN has had to do this 2 times in the past month and her Walgreens is great about it! Also, I have heard/read that sometimes there are only a certain number of SS or RP inserts for a given paper “run” and that if they run out of them before putting them in the papers they don't put anything on the “no insert” papers when they deliver them for distribution at their various locations. HTH

      • Lisa B

I always open the paper and make sure all the Q inserts are there before I buy it in the store! I do it in full view of the clerk so she doesn't think I'm stealing coupons and I explain why I'm doing it.

        • Kerry72nc

      • Trippcoupon S

I get the post and courier and all of mine were in there. You should look before you buy becausde some people will steal them

    • Jaxnative40

I get the FL Times Union delivered and I had both Red Plums in my paper.

    • Denise

I always get steamed when I look at the insert variations and see all coupons that are NOT in my paper!! Is there anything we consumers can do to get companies to give us all the coupons? Just because we live in smaller areas doesn't mean we don't need the coupons. We probably need them more, truth be told.

    • newtocoupons

What does the different colors mean on the lists? Red? Black? & Blue?

      • Saviorbucks

We start with the coupon preview list in black. Red means the coupon wasn't included, Blue means it's a new coupon that wasn't included in the preview or the value had changed

    • Sierraaspn

I bought 6 papers (AJC) at Publix…. I had all 4 inserts but the the RP #1 (the big one) is missing about 75% of the coupons (Dove,Knorr, axe.. all the good ones) Has anyone else had this problem with AJC and redplum coupons missing?

      • redteapot

        What is AJC?

        • Sierraaspn

          Atlanta Journal Constitution

      • Denise

Yes. I bought a 1/30 double AJC paper at a Kroger in Lawrenceville, but like you said, both copies of the RP insert were the exact same and did not include the good coupons. Yesterday, while in CVS, I looked through a Sunday AJC that was still on the rack, and it had the same RP insert as my papers. I left a phone message with Valassis, who prints the ads I assume, but I didn't get a response back.

    • redteapot

I am thinking of switching my sunday papers to the Daily Commercial in Leesburg, FL. They have the sunday inserts but not sure what their variations are compared to Orlando Sentinel. Does anyone have this information they could post in this section? I have confirmed they put out red plum, and smartsource.

    • Angel_6994

The Kinston Press in Kinston,NC also has the same coupons in the Sunday paper.
