Food Lion Weekly Ad 10/21-10/27

This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure here.

Here are the top deals at Food Lion for the week starting Wednesday 10/21. It is another week with regional variations in the South Carolina Midlands. I have tried to post most of those deals below everything else. My favorite is $0.99 lb Hamburger. I’m also liking the 9 cent hamburger buns in SC or 27 cents everywhere else.

1. Check with your local store about B1G1 items. Ask “Are you required to buy 2, or will they each ring up at half price?”
2. Most Food Lion stores do not double coupons.
3. If you do a B1G1 deal, use 2 coupons if they will let you.

If you are new to Southern Savers read up on what all this means.

    • In my area, the ad shows General Mills cereals (Banana Nut Cheerios) as bogo, and they are normally $3.99/ea I think? So $1.99 in my store? I will double check tomorrow…

      • kelli

mine lists them as bogo too. I was so hoping for free cereal. :(

        • amber

In VA it is listed as BOGO with limit 2 free.

      • Melinda

At my store in Pooler, the Cherios are BOGO and not $.99. In Augusta GA, they were $.99 per box.

        • Jenny

Ug! Our Food Lion had it BOGO at $3.99, so annoying! I probably stood there forever trying to figure out how I could be missing this deal! ha! Finding the Chattanooga, Tn area has different prices than your SC area. Eggs were 1.29, but I can’t complain about .29 cent eggs!

    • Erica

In my area Concord the meat prices are different. 1.69 for ground chuck and 2.79 for cube steak. Just wanted to let everyone know. thanks

    • Delores

I am in Wallace, NC and this your post is very different from mine.

    • Kristin

Some differences in Charleston, SC (Sycamore ave location)- 12 pk Cokes are 2.99 and Coke 2 liters are .99, Chips Ahoy are 2/$6, Cube steak is 2.79, and Ground Chuck is 1.68 (no Lean Ground Beef .98 sale listed). Just wanted to pass that along.

    • Beth Sessoms

My Food Lion has the GM cereal as B1G1 as well (off regular price). That is still just 99 cents a box. Not free but still a great deal!

    • Dawna

In my area Bar S hotdogs are on sale for .69 cents. Went to the Bar S website and printed off coupon for $1/2 pkgs. Bar S products. I’ll get them for .19 cents a piece!!

    • Monica

What zipcode do you use to get the $1 off 2 General Mills cereal…doesn’t work for me in Tennessee

      • Jenny

Try 37343, I was able to get the coupon. :) Hopefully you will too!

    • Sandra

on the candy, it would be $1.75 each with the BOGO and coupon.

      • heather

I was thinking $1.50 per bag … $3.99 for two bags minus $1.00 from the coupon = $2.99. Divded by 2, that makes rougly $1.50 per bag, correct? Ha ha – can someone good at math tell us what the correct price is? :)

        • CouponNERD

Heather – I think you are right. My FL online ad shows $3.99 BOGO, makes it $2 a bag, then $1.50 after the coupon. This price is a little better than $2.79 at Publix this week!

    • Tiffani

Two nights ago, a manager at FL in Conway, SC told me that they just got a message sent down from HQ saying that internet coupons will not be accepted if it makes the product free. Anyone come across this yet? Wondering about the Banana Nut Cheerios.

      • nancy

that is cazy. I hope not.

    • Natalie Smalley

Caution- I went to Food Lion in Dallas, ga this morning to get the banana nut cheerios-I searched and searched and finally found 4 boxes. It was obvious couponers had been there because the other cereals were full and the banana nut only had about 6 or 8 boxes way in the back of the isle. But, when I got up to pay I had 4 $1 off coupons-I asked the cashier to double check these should be $.99-she said it was ringing up fine-so at the end of my order she said $4.19-of course, I new immediately it was wrong. It did not ring up the sale price. I had the flyer, I got in the store, in my hand and showed the cashier-manager came over rang it under rain check-bill was $.08-great right? But I told him, this has happened to me several times in this store. It is supposed to be on sale-and it rings up regular price-This is where the CAUTION comes in-he said they start inputting the sale into the computer and it usually doesn’t go into effect until that night-last time this happened the customer service girl told me usually the next day–WOW!!! I personally like Food Lion fine, although I end up at the service desk getting my receipt adjusted everytime I go there-but this just doesn’t seem like good business- I would say check your receipt if you shopped there this morning-

      • Rebecca

I shop at that same location sometimes, too, and have had problems with stuff ringing up incorrectly (even well into the sale dates). They’re very nice, and get it fixed, but like you say, not too quickly…. I don’t shop there often enough to know how their computers work, either, and their checkers don’t even know. I asked one why it wasn’t ringing up as the sale price, and he said it would come off at the end (but it didn’t), so yeah, a trip to the service desk for a price adjustment. What a pain! If it weren’t for their big BoxTops promotions I would NEVER go there.

    • Colleen

My Food Lion NEVER has these great prices :( I wonder how they can all vary like that, even just 30 miles apart. Doesn’t seem fair.

      • nancy

I see this all the time I drive by 3 fl stores and they very some. I notice if I am in a underprivlaged areas The prices are cheaper. I wounder due to taxes or Store genrated profit. Which is wierd to me becouse in the city it can be just a few blocks of differences.
I stop at one that always has closeout deals and some people would not stop at it due to location or not feeling safe. Even in side the fl store there is a lack of happyness from the emyolyees. The other day I went and the cashier said HI I turned and responded and saw it was scripted not genuine. Oh well and there have been several times that I have this one chasier that never says a word to me through out the whole transaction. She knows I know OH Well it is on my way home. it is usually coming down to profit the store can generate from one group and not another. Just in thought.

    • Apryl

I have noticed that Food Lion is now on the cell fire list. I tried registering my card, and it says my MVP # is not found. I have used this card many times. Does anybody else have this problem?

      • nancy

wow I would like that do you think it is becouse of some stores are not ready for cell fire. I will have to check this out. I have never used cellfire.

      • Kim

I emailed cellfire customer service about this because I had the same problem – I’ll let you know what I find out. Keeping my fingers crossed that they do participate in my area

        • Malinda

Hello. I had the same problem registering my MVP card too. I am in Fort Mill, SC.

          • Jenny

I’ve emailed my direct contact at Cellfire to find out when the real start date is for Food Lion. It’s very exciting to see it in the list though!!

            • Kim

              Any response Jenny?

            • Jenny

I heard back from them on other questions but they didn’t answer that one. I’ll try again today.

    • Sarah S.

    • I am so excited for the deals this week Jenny! Thank you so much. To those of you without Food Lions nearby that are doing the $.98/lb ground beef try Piggly Wiggly. They are doing it for $.99/lb. in my area too.

As to the prices being cheaper in the poorer areas. Yep, happens with gas too.

    • Momof2 (Greer, SC)

Bar S weiners are on sale for 69 cents a pack & there is a $1 off coupon on their website which will make them free. It would go great with the cheap hotdog buns this week.

***Also I told you guys last week that I got 7 packs of Huggies diapers for a friend of mine from FL for only 49 cents a pack. They still had some left this morning. I picked up 2 more packs.

      • ElaineHN

Thank You! I can’t stand anything except Hebrew National or Omaha Steak dogs … but for FREE I’ll get these to donate to our church’s halloween party cook out or give to someone here at work who isn’t soooo picky *lol*

    • Michelle in Martinez

Hey, Jenny…There are two new Food Lions opening in my area this week (Evans to Locks Road in Martinez and one in Grovetown, Georgia)…are they having any special deals that you know of? I ask because I know the Midland Valley Food Lion has had special deals for their Grand Reopening for the past three weeks. Thanks!

    • CJ in Grovetown

HI Michelle in Martinez! I thought I was the only person from my area who ever commented here… YAY! I’m not all alone LOL! I called the new Grovetown store about specials and was told they will have “various specials highlighted throughout the first week.” Vague, but worth looking around if you’re going to be there anyhow.

      • Lindy

I just got some info on the new Food Lion in Grovetown GA…next week, they will have TRIPLE COUPONS up to $.99!!! Yippee! I also got a $10/$25 coupon in the mail from them.

        • CJ in Grovetown

TRIPLES??? In a store near me??? I may faint…

          • Tina

It’s a 20 coupon limit though…Lindy, when did you get the $10/$25 coupon? The manager said they were mailing them out to those that lived within a 2 mile radius…I live in Ivy Falls and have been waiting for it.

      • Michelle in Martinez

hey! you are not alone! LOL i am about to head out to the new FL in grovetown and see what specials they have going on…hopefully some good ones! i haven’t gotten the special $10 off Q, but maybe they will have some other great deals worth trying. so, do the triple coupons start on wednesday the 28th, or have they already begun?

    • Mariana

The circular for the Food Lion in South Nashville has the Coke 2 liters for 4/$5.00; and the 12 pack cans for 3/9.00. :(

    • Amy

Went to FL this morning. My eggs rang up at $1.19 (normal price) still only 19¢ with the coupon! On the bottom of my receipt it says “Get a FREE Planters Trail Mix (5.5-6oz bag) WYB any 1 Planters Premium Nuts (9-10.25 oz) w. your personal MVP card. Offer good 10-21-10/27/09. Limit on FREE Planters Trail Mix per transaction.

Oh, and McCormick spices (the little half jars) were BOGO at my Columbia, SC store.

    • Amanda

I just wanted to mention that FL has Friskies advertised as .48 a can in their weekly ad. I even double checked my local ad to make sure I wasn’t crazy. In stores in my area it is .40 and according to their store which is in the same district, it will be on sale till 11/17 @ .40 each. Yippee if you have cats! I don’t know if Food Lion screwed up the printing or what happened but definitely an error in my favor!

By the way, LOTS AND LOTS of new tear pads! There is one for Ginger ale, McCormick products, (If you buy 2 of the grinders which are $1.29 each and use $1 off 2 McCormick Tearpad coupon, it’s like .65 for a really great spice grinder!) Bunches of coupons for items such as Rotel, Hunt Tomatoes, Frito Lay Variety Pack Tear Pads, and a few others that I can’t think of right now.

Jenny, thank you so much for what you provide. I have now saved over $1,000.00 this year alone at Food Lion. Thank you so much!

    • Amy

Coke at my Food Lion(Blue Ridge, GA) is 3.79/12 pack.
