chocolate chip cookies

Everyone needs a good chocolate chip cookies recipe under their belt. Here is one of my favorites! It’s both crisp and chewy and is definitely asking for a cold glass of milk.

I like to mix this dough by hand using a wooden spoon (it helps prevent over-mixing, which can lead to spreading and tough cookies). This recipe makes 12 cookies.

Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar with a wooden spoon. Add the egg and vanilla and stir to combine.
  4. Pour in the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Freeze the cookie dough for 10 minutes.
  6. Drop heaping tablespoons onto your prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and slightly underdone in the middle.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking pan. Store in an airtight container.
