pico de gallo

This Mexican dish is so simple to put together and brightens up any food you top it with. Though it’s traditionally used on foods like carnitas and tostadas, it’s also really good on grilled chicken, hamburgers, broiled fish, and lots more.

Tip: If you want to make your pico de gallo spicy, add in a diced jalapeno pepper.

Simple Pico de Gallo

  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/3 cup diced tomato
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • big pinch of salt

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir to combine (you can taste to make sure you've added enough salt).
  2. Before serving, let the mixture sit in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to marinate all the flavors.
  3. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
