A little bird sent me an email today that Harris Teeter will start Triples again next Wednesday 9/16.  How great for you guys to get triples right after a huge coupon weekend!!

For anyone that is new, they will triple any coupon .99 cents or less.  There is a limit of 20 coupons per day.

I will try to have the ad up early or at least a list of great freebies.  Look for it on Monday sometime.

I am soooooo excited about this. I recently started couponing and this will be my first triples week at HT. Very happy!! :)

    • Lee

I can,t wait. This is my 2nd HT triples and I am grateful for this site. I would NEVER figure it out on my own. I will be buying several papers on Sunday and will be making several trips to HT. Thanks for the heads up Jenny, and for all the wonderful ways you help my family stay in our tight budget. Thanks again, Lee

    • Michelle

I can not wait!!!! I *heart* Harris Teeter during this time!

    • Morgan

I am so excited! Bloom has been tripling coupons for three weeks and I keep hoping for an updated list that I can use there!

    • Amanda

I hope Kroger will do it again too!

    • VeronicaB

YAY! I’m so excited I’m doing the coupon dance.

      Thanks Jenny!

    • Chrissy

I’m so sad Harris Teeter pulled out of the Atlanta area :-( Even without the triples events, I preferred HT over both Kroger and Publix.

    • Amy

I just received an email from HT-e-vic is taking $10 off an order of $75 or more today through Tuesday!

    • Lori

I read a sign last night in my HT that said that if you spend $75 for 12 out of 16 weeks from Aug.12-December, they will give you two $25 gift cards from a selection of merchants. Does anyone know if this means $75 before the coupons are subtracted or $75 after coupons? I read about the promotion on their site, but the wording about coupons confused me further. Thanks so much!

    • Nikki

Does Harris Teeter accept competitors coupons…like food lion coupons…I have some save 0.75/3 Powerades….So can someone please answer this??? Thank you

    • Su

HT does not accept competitor’s coupons for specific items. . the only kind of competitor’s coupons they accept are for $ off your total purchase. Hope that clarifies.

I was in Harris Teeter last night. I had some $5 off of $25 that they sent me in the mail. My bill came to $21 with my VIC but before my coupons. I told the girl that I’d like to grab one more thing to push my bill up to $25 so I could use my $5 off coupon and the girl told me that the $25 has to include VIC PLUS all my coupons. I told her “uh no” that it should only include the VIC. I had her go ask the manager and she came back with the same story. I had already been shopping for over 2 hours after having worked all day and just wasn’t up for the fight. Now I am kicking myself for letting it go like that. I deserved my $5 off. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, how did they handle it?

    • Kari

Looking forward to triples! I got spoiled by the super doubles at Harris Teeter and Kroger the week before last. Haven’t been too excited about much this week.

    • Misty

I have never been to a Harris Teeter, and have never been to a triple/super double event at ANY store. I hope the one on St Simons Island, GA is doing this. They are about an hour away from me, but I’m willing to gain some experience.

    • Beth

I’m really excited about this! I’m new to couponing and have not had a triples event yet! I don’t shop at HT normally, but I’m going to hit it for this triples event!! Sadly none of my Krogers did the super doubles (or I just didn’t have a enough coupons yet that would double—I’m still stockpiling) so I’m salivating for what I hope is some big savings!

This week I went to HT in Greensboro, NC and when I gave my coupons to the clerk, he held out coupons with “do not double or triple” on them. They have always doubled/tripled those anyway. When the clerk scanned them he only put them in for the face value, when I asked why, he indicated the store manager was now wanting them to pull those out and not double/triple them anymore. Of course, this changed my buying decision on a few items. Not sure if your HT’s allow that or not. I got the impression that it may be that HT and maybe a few others. Didn’t know if HT was going to stop doubling/tripling those all together.

I used my $5 off a $25 purchase coupon yesterday at the Boone, NC store. I gave it to the cashier after the VIC discounts, but BEFORE the coupons were scanned. No problem…scanned fine. Even the ‘witchy’ customer service girl (I swear she can’t stand me b/c I save so much money there…LOL) didn’t say anything when she came over to override my 5 rainchecks.

I do find HT has really cracked down on coupons, though. They only allowed me to use 3 coupons at a time for the same item & only 2 internet printed coupons per item! I was upset about that since I was buying huge quantities w/ my rainchecks.

My best advice is to go to a mail cashier. They usually scan everything w/ no questions asked! I’d go back & try your coupon again. Isn’t it good til Tuesday? Good luck & let us know what happens! I’ll be getting ready for TRIPLES all weekend! :)

      Lorelei :)

    • Ahhhh, sorry y’all…

That should have said MALE cashier, not mail! I was so excited over triple coupons, I forgot to proofread! LMAO

    • Jen

I live near a new HT and have been getting $20/$50 coupons in the mail since they opened. They all have the same wording – $50 minimum must be after all discounts/coupons have been applied. So sorry, I know it’s a bummer after you’ve worked hard putting together a plan. The one time we used the coupon, we needed a propane tank refill, which is about $20 anywhere, so we used that to get our total up to $50. It made $30 worth of groceries (after coupons) only cost $10.

I was doing a little pre-shop to prepare for triples yesterday, and I found a few things that are free this week just with the regular doubling: Kotex liners w/75 cent q, Mahatma rice packets w/75 cents off 2 q, and the Maruchan (I forget the exact name – sorry) noodle packets (sort of like bigger things of ramen noodles) – free with 50 cent qs. I figured it was better to pick these freebies up now than waste any of the 20 coupon per day slots during triples.

    • stacey

I have also had problems at HT, in Asheville the cashiers even organize the coupons when you hand them in so that the lowest amount triples first, i prefer BiLo they enjoy seeing how much money that you can save

    • Roberta Grissett

Does anyone know if there is a site to see Harris Teeter ad before it actually begins?

    • Teressa

OK–I have been reading through this website and I’m convinced I should be couponing. I’ve stood behind the “old ladies” with a handful of coupons mentally cursing them, but after a month or so of checking the site out I realize I’ve been missing out and spending too much money!! I’ve never been to HT, so why not go in armed with the knowledge I now have and save some cash!

Thanks for this site and thanks to one of my FB friends that shares her savings weekly–now I hope to do the same!!

    • Heather

All my coupons that are .99 or less say no double or triple, so does that mean HT will not do them? I am new to this and any information you can provide would be great! Thanks in advance!

    • Shannon

For those of you in middle TN Kroger had been tripling q’s at the same time as Harris Teeter. I just called Kroger on Franklin Rd in Nashville and spoke with the manager. He informed me that if they are going to triple q’s it will start on Wed. as well.

    • Audrey

Yes there is a site and it looks like this one will post it also before it is available on Wed. http://www.afullcup.com has a preview already started.

    • Curtis

Heather, in my experience at HT, they will still double/triple the coupons marked as “Do Not Double/Triple”, however I have read this is not always the case.

    • Melissa

What time does the sale start at the 24 hour HT’s? I’ve called two of them in my area in Raleigh. One told me 2am the other told me 7am?

    • Kelly

Quick question…I know it’s been answered before but I don’t remember and can’t find it again (of course). :)

Will Harris Teeter accept a Catalina from Food Lion…have one for .75 on babyfood…looking at triples…you see where i may be going with this…

    • I’ve listed some coupons matchups on my site. Check it out at http://www.keepingourcash.com
