If you have ever been interested in opening an online banking account, ING is giving you $50 today to try it.

For all folks who open a new Electric Orange checking account will be able to receive a $50 bonus!  The $50 will be directly deposited into your account if you use your Electric Orange Card to make at 3 least signature-based purchases in the first 45 days of the account being opened.

We have had an account with them since their last bonus promotion and have found that it’s very easy to use.  For us we are using it more as a savings account with occasional purchases.  I have found that the best thing about online banking accounts is the ease with which you can organize your money; as opposed to just having a lump sum in savings, I can organize my money into very specific categories.  If you want to save for a car, just make an account for it.  When you get the money you need, you can just close that account.

In general, there are no fees and no minimums and over 35,000 ATMs to use.

I don’t know how long they are going to offer the $50 bonus, so you probably want to think it over and get signed up if you want it.
