Kroger fuel points

Kroger 4X Fuel Points

Once again, Kroger is offering 4x Fuel Points when you buy gift cards at Kroger! This deal is a fun way to save not only on gift cards as presents, but also a great way to save on gas!

To get the most out of this deal, I like to buy Shell gas station gift cards and earn 4x the fuel points then use the points at participating Shell stations and pay with your gift card! You can also use them instead of cash at your favorite stores and online retailers as there are hundreds of gift cards to choose from.

Offer valid thru 9/15.

Other Kroger Promotions

I also wanted to remind you of a few other promotions continuing this week:

– The Kroger Super Sale eCoupons have reset for this week, so any that you downloaded and used last week will be replenished you to load onto your card again! These can be used up to 5 times in one transaction and many match with the sales this week.

– They have also just loaded over $10 in Simple Truth coupons if you are a fan of their store brand organic/natural line of products.

– You can also still earn 2x Fuel Points when you shop at Kroger on Friday, Saturday or Sunday until 9/1. Be sure to load the eCoupon to get your savings.

I will be new to shopping at Kroger shortly. What are the details of the fuel points and being 4X? Thanks!

Like you buy a $50 Shell gas card (you are going to buy gas anyway .. might as well save some $) .. the gift card costs you $50 .. but you earn 200 (4×50) points .. which = 20 cent discount per gallon when you buy gas at the Kroger stations! HTHs

I bought Amazon gift cards and it only gave me 2x points even though amazon cards are stated as 4x.
          Any ideas?

    • If you buy gift cards on the weekend, will you get 8x fuel points?

      • Amy L

No .. it says gift cards are excluded when 4X applies .. I did get 2x over the weekend though HTHs!

I have never done the gift card promotion, so I was wondering if I buy a Kroger gift card, would it give me the 4x points? I shop at Kroger all the time, so I figured if I buy the gift card I could use it and get more points that way.

No, it doesn’t include Kroger cards or the Visa, Amex cards.

where do you find these ecoupons to load to your card?

I love buying the gas station cards at Kroger. This is part of our “envelope” system for budgeting. It makes this portion of our budgeting easy. I purchase with each check a shell gas card for my husband. Once or twice a month I then fill my van at the Kroger station and use the full cents off earned to fill.

Since I know the monthly budget for gas cards, I can then take full advantage of these 4x gift cards events. I can use my savings account to purchase gas cards for future months. I then pay the savings account back with each paycheck.

The June 4x event we ended up getting three $1.00 off fills for the van. This worked out perfectly as we had to drive two kids to camps that month, and pick them up – each camp was over 200 miles away! Lots of gas cards used… Since the points are available for two months I did not have to use the $1.00 off up all in one month, I used them in July too.

One more confusing note: You do have to be careful when using previous month’s points. You have to know ahead of time how many points you have to use. When you go to the gas station to fill up the balance stated is the current month’s balance. Points DO NOT combine for each month. I learned from a helpful Kroger employee simply decline the points it first asks and choose to enter your own points to use. I then enter the amount from the previous month to use. Somehow the system figures out – aha, there is this amount of points to use. So far it has worked for me with no problems.
