I am loving all the companies that have come out in the month of October to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer and funds for research.  I have one more company that is giving you an incredibly easy (and free) way to donate.  During the month of October,  Pepperidge Farm is supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

For every person that shares a “Milano Moment”  – those special moments that you steal for yourself or share with a close friend and truly enjoy –  on Milano’s Facebook Page, Pepperidge Farm will donate 50¢ to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Why Milano Moments??

Really I think this is a wonderful idea.  It is the special moments in life that cancer of any form steals.  One of my closest friends in college lost her mother to breast cancer a couple of years ago.  I know for her, now with three small kids, there are so many moments in their lives that she wishes her mom could share them.   How wonderful for Pepperidge Farm to help us sit back and think about those moments that mean so much to us.

I spent a long time trying to figure out what a special moment was for me.  I realized that I have a few big days that of course stand out but right now in my life, it is probably a very simple moment in my day.  I love those few minutes right before my girls go to bed at night.  My youngest will still snuggle for a minute or two after you finish reading a story and I cherish those snuggles and minutes.

What are your special moments or memories?

Please help fight breast cancer by posting your own Milano Moment on their facebook page.  It’s a simple (free) way for us to each raise 50¢ and to spend a moment or two remembering what is really important in our day.

This is a sponsored post written by me for Pepperidge Farm.  All opinions are 100% mine.

      Thanks Jenny for the info.

As for the other comments about SBK and support for abortions, this is INCORRECT. I know a lot of people look at the comments on here and I would hate for misinformation to be spread. Please look it up yourself on the komen website at: http://ww5.komen.org/Content.aspx?id=16162

      I posted one Jenny! Thanks

    • Pianogretch

I don't support Susan G. Komen. Just found out that they support planned parenthood abortions. I'll have to find some other company to donate to for breast cancer research.

The Avon Foundation is awesome, we did their 39 mile walk 2 years ago and raised about $23,000 for Breast Cancer Research.

    • Sadaivey

I was also a big Susan Komen supporter until I found out about the planned parenthood abortions support.

I don't know about anyone else ,but I feel let down

    • LJSJ

      I agree. Can't support anymore.

    • Quayles

Yes, me too. Can't support Susan G Komen.

    • We did 2 donations this year-one to American Breast Cancer Society and another in honor of a high school friend who ran a marathon in Dublin for breast cancer. I absolutely LOVE this idea! I agree with you Jenny, snuggling at the end of a long day is the best!

Thanks Jenny…my favorite moment of the day is at bedtime, holding my daughter in the rocking chair, the lights are out, she is breathing softly on my shoulder, and I wonder if this is how my mom felt when she rocked me to sleep as a baby. I could sit there all night…;-)

I agree with all the comments . . . I no longer support Susan G. Komen Foundation as a result of their donations to Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the US. I use to raise money and run their 5k every year in honor of my aunt who had breast cancer until I found out about 12 years ago of their affiliation with PP.

I tried to “Like” y'all's comments but that button isn't working for me. Is it for y'all?

I'm not usually one to comment on these sites, although I'm a big fan and appreciate all the wonderful information that is laboriously posted. I want to be the voice of the silent majority. Planned Parenthood provides healthcare options to women who otherwise would have few choices, so as it is your individual choice to not support the Susan G. Komen Foundation, it is the Foundation's choice to support other organizations that help woman in need. This is America, where the freedom of individual Choice is part of our foundation.

I tried to post this earlier….Susan B Komen DOES NOT support abortions…please look up information before posting…yes, they work with planned parenthood to provide BREAST EXAMS ONLY for women who CANNOT AFFORD THEM

A lot of people read these comments and I would hate for misinformation to stop fund raising for a very important cause. Please do your own research. Go to the Komen website and click on the “about us” it will explain everything

This debate will go on and on but for those opposed to abortions…

Planned Parenthood is not called “Healthcare for Women Who Can't Afford It”. It's called “Planned Parenthood” for a reason. Whether or not you support abortions is your own choice but to give any assistance to this program is to fund their purpose.

In other words, I don't think women go to “Planned Parenthood” just for a breast exam.

Women have alternatives for healthcare such as WIC and Medicaid as well as privately funded clinics run by doctors and healthcare workers who donate their time and resources (usually through faith-based organizations).

It's unfortunate that the SBK foundation must be “tainted” by this one issue when they have raised a significant amount of money for what is mostly a wonderful cause.

Breast Cancer Research is a very worthy cause.

I think donating to the American Cancer Society or the Breast Cancer Research Organization would be a wonderful alternative.

        <<it's “tainted”=”” a=”” amount=”” be=”” by=”” cause.=”” for=”” foundation=”” have=”” is=”” issue=”” money=”” mostly=”” must=”” of=”” one=”” raised=”” sbk=”” significant=”” that=”” the=”” they=”” this=”” unfortunate=”” what=”” when=”” wonderful=””>>

Their affiliations do not diminish the wonderful-ness of the cause they promote, which is increasing research to find a cure and to provide support to women who must deal with this disease. Women like myself. 10 years ago I would not have had nearly the options and levels of treatment as are available now.

As for them being considered “tainted” by their affiliation with PP… I cannot politely express my thoughts. I can only say that it's highly unlikely that there is a single organization out there who is not “tainted” in some way by their corporate or individual affiliations, whether they realize it or not. Let's simply be fair.

My comment was for those opposed to abortions.

My mother is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor partly because of the incredible funds raise through organizations like SBK and the many others. She is not surviving because SBK gives money for post-abortion patient's breast exams.

I will choose to give to the “others”.
