I refer to my coffee as a milkshake because I am very heavy on the cream (milk most days, half -n- half on a splurge day) and the sugar and usually have to re-heat it once I mix it all together because it turns cold from all the cream! :) My mother-in-law has a Keurig, and it’s the only coffee machine that I don’t have to re-heat my coffee once I’m done making it. I would love to have my own! It would be so nice to mix and enjoy instead of mix, re-heat, then enjoy my coffee each morning.

This is in honor of my late grandmother who would put three slices of cheddar cheese in her piping hot coffee. She would sip the coffee and spoon out the melted cheese as she drank it. Not my cup of tea (pun intended), but she loved it.

MY HUSBAND AND I LIKE IT FRESHLY BREWED AND BLACK FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
I am somewhat weird with my coffee – I like it with cream and sugar, but it can’t be too hot or cold. I usually have to wait about 10 minutes after I mix it up for it to be cool enough for me to drink.

The smell of a fresh cup of coffee takes me back to my childhood and my grandmother’s house. She would use her hand can opener to open a big metal container of ground coffee, and just after you hear the “whoosh” of the vacuum, the whole room would be filled with the rich smell of the new coffee! I don’t use a stovetop percolator these days, but regardless of how it’s prepared, I have my coffee with half-and-half and a packet of sweetener, and I have my grandmother to thank for my love of a good cup of coffee!

I brew my coffee with a French Press every morning! It is delicious! Full bodied and dark and oily, I add ice, milk and a little hazelnut creamer (whatever brand I get coupons for!) Try It….Just ask a Starbucks Barista for a press. It costs around $3-$4 but it has 3-4 cups to drink and/or share. It is a wonderful and slow way to collect myself each morning and enjoy some caffeine.

I like really skunky coffee (as in it smells a bit like a skunk while its brewing…kinda gross, I know) mixed with about a quarter of a bottle of caramel macchiato or equally tasty dairy creamer (only a slight exaggeration) and about a six second pour on the sugar. Needless to say, it gets me going for the insane workout that is necessary and inevitable when consuming this many calories in one drink. The stout coffee is necessary to actually break through all the sweetness and provide a hint of coffee flavor.

Very heavy on the warm milk and I use agave instead of sugar. Sometimes, as a treat, I’ll drop a small piece of dark chocolate in it. This is really nice in the winter. Taste so creamy, rich and awesome!
