Update: Many of you that signed up for this ended up getting spam phone calls. I didn’t realize you had to put in a phone number for the deal and I won’t be posting anymore MooLaLa deals until I get some answers from them about this practice.

If you are heading to the movies any time soon, don’t miss this deal for 50% off movie tickets!  Get a $24 voucher for $12 to use at more than 1,900 theaters including Fandango, AMC, Cinemark, Regal and others.

I checked and these work at all 6 of the major theaters around my city.

The deal is hosted through Moolala, a daily deal site and you can purchase up to 5 vouchers! You have until 5/5/13 to redeem your voucher from VipMovieTicket.com.

Not the best deal. You have to purchase tickets at least 1 day in advance through usmovietix.com. Then they charge you a convenience fee (the amount varies) but our fee was $5.

      • Moolala

Sorry that this deal didn’t meet your expectations, Valerie. We’re really hopeful that future ones will! Thanks so much for the feedback – we really appreciate it and will take it to heart (I’m passing this info to our deals team now!).

    • Is carmike included?

    • Pianogirl4610

Just a heads up, you still have to pay $2.50 per ticket when you go through the vipmovieticket site, so $12 for the voucher, use it to buy 4 movie tickets, pay an additional $10 in charges = $22 for your $24 voucher.

Also they almost immediately sell your email address and phone number. I started getting spam email and phone calls within 5 minutes of placing my order through moolala.

By the way if you believe you have received any spam from this merchant that you could forward to us we would be happy to look into this further! Email us at support@moolala.com or reply to this message.

    • Pianogirl4610

After the surcharges, and the annoying phone calls/emails you get from having your info sold, this is not a good deal. The $3 per person who signs up should not be valued as highly as integrity. :( disappointing.

    • Pianogirl4610

7 random phone calls since I signed up 4 hours ago. Unreal!!!!

      • Moolala

Oh no, I’m really sorry to hear this! We haven’t heard of this happening to any of our other customers for this movie ticket deal, and we’ve run a similar deal in the past. I went ahead and contacted the merchant and they have assured me that your personal information was not sold or passed off in any way. We’d be more than happy to help you with this problem further if you’d go ahead and contact us at support@moolala.com
