My favorite Electronic Coupon site just released a new batch of eCoupons!  If you aren’t using SavingStar eCoupons, then well you’re just being silly.  These are coupons that are more like rebates.  They don’t come off in store but instead you get the value back in an online account with them.  When you have $5 saved up you can get it out in a paypal deposit, Amazon gift card etc.

There are two features that are the most fun to me:

  1. You get to still use a paper coupon in the store.
  2. You load the coupons to all of your store shopper cards at the same time.  So you never have the issue remembering what coupon is on what card.

The New Coupons

$1/2 Jolly Time Microwave Pop Corn  4.8 oz + eCoupon
$1 off McCain Sweet Potato Fries eCoupon
$1 off McCain Purely Potatoes eCoupon
.75/2 Musselman’s 6-pack Apple Sauce eCoupon
$1 off Snyder’s of Hanover Organic Pretzel Sticks eCoupon
$1/8 Beech-Nut baby food jar purees, any stage eCoupon
.75/1 L’Oréal Vive Pro Shampoo or Conditioner eCoupon
$1 off L’Oréal Studio Line Styling Product eCoupon

I have loaded quite a few coupons from Saving Star onto my card and they never work?

      • Lonestar9

Kelly, I thought I was the only one…;).  I have the same problem, I think it’s been around 5 I’ve loaded, that never got credited to my account. I emailed them once, they basically said to be patient, didn’t have any real answers to why it doesn’t work for me.

        • The5heads

          me too!!!!!

Hi – Josh from SavingStar. I want to assure you that SavingStar will make sure that you get your savings. If you activated a coupon and used your card at the store when you bought the product, your savings should post to your SavingStar account within 2-30 days depending on the store you shop. (Currently Kroger takes 30 days to post your savings for example). We encourage anyone who did not receive their savings to contact us at support@savingstar.com so we can investigate any issues. We respond to all emails within 2 business days and we will make sure that you get the savings you are supposed to get. Thanks, Josh

            • Lonestar9

Thanks for trying. I’ll give Savingstar the benefit of the doubt, and email them. Mine have been way over 30 days, I’ll try to remember them and get back to that email support address.

Great. If it’s been more than 30 days, something is wrong. Please give us as many details of your purchase as you can (date of purchase, which item, which store). This way we can investigate what’s going on and make sure you get your savings. Thanks, Josh

      does this work with Publix?

      • Anonymous

Hi – Currently Publix is not participating with SavingStar. We’d encourage you to contact them so they can hear directly from their customers that you’d like them to join us. Thanks, Josh

    • Clark7371

I’ve given up on SavingStar, my credits from months ago never posted.  I don’t even bother to load their coupons any more.

I think this should become the standard, I was at Kroger last week and an extreme couponer was buying 20 newspapers??  If everyone does that and then throws away the newspaper it’s rediculous, even if they recycle it we are still dealing with the effects on the environment from the newspapers creating these throw away papers every week, makes me ill actually. There has to be a better way and I think electronic coupons are the answer.  Great site by the way Jenny, love your Weight Watcher menus and recipes.

I have to say, I LOVE SavingStar.  It’s like an extra bonus.  I just started using the site about 3 months ago, and to test how it would affect my purchasing I chose not to record which coupons I loaded.  After a few weeks of my regular shopping (without really thinking about which products were on SavingStar) I checked in and realized I had saved $9.81 totally accidentally.  When I actually started matching up the items and purposely buying them while they were on sale, with paper qs it was amazing how fast it added up.  Now it prompts me to try new products like the Veggie Mac.  We love it!  :)

These can be used in addition to manufacturer and store coupon, correct?

      • Anonymous

Hi Holly, SavingStar eCoupons will work whether or not you combine them with other
services’ coupons, but they are not intended to be used this way.
Generally, manufacturers state that it is against their policies for
shoppers to redeem more than one manufacturer’s coupon for the same
purchase. Using in-store coupons in combination with SavingStar eCoupons
is not a problem at all. Thanks, Josh

    • Holly Molly

These can be used in addition to manufacturer and store coupon, correct?

    • Michelle

I just joined and am trying to figure it out. Where do you load coupons from? How often are new ones issued? Do they expire, and if so, how do you know when? Thanks!

      • Anonymous

Hi Michelle, After you create an account on SavingStar, you’ll be asked to register your local store loyalty cards. You can enter cards on the My Shopping Cards tab under My Account. After you do that, if you go to our homepage, just click the I Want This button on the coupons you like and they’ll be linked to all your registered cards. Use your card when you buy the product and the savings will be added to your SavingStar account within 2-30 days depending on the store you shop (your bill at the store does not change). If you look at each coupon it says the date that it expires. We typically load new coupons to the site on Thursday. Thanks! Josh
