Starting next week at Office Depot you can get $5 in Recycling Rewards (instead of $2) for recycling an ink cartridge. This is a way great to do something for the environment while saving money!

You can do this up to 20 times per month. The Recycling Rewards will be issued as part of your Worklife Rewards or Star Teacher account.

The promotion will last for 15 days from 1/9-1/15 (see next weeks ad for more info).

(thanks Kristi!)

i was wondering if anyone has any tips on contacting office depot for issues with the rewards program. i've tried contacting them several times through their website but i have not gotten ANY response. thanks!

I have had a problem in the past and emailed, never got an answer – so I called the # on the website for the worklife rewards and the cs rep was very helpful and cleared up my problem in just a few minutes.

I just signed up, I have 6 cartridges sitting in my closet :) Thanks for the info!

I am sooo glad I just checked this! I put 8 cartridges in my car and was going to take them this afternoon when my kids got off the bus. I'll now wait until next week! Jenny, YOU ARE THE BEST!

    • Deb

Do you get a check like Staples does or is it a merchandise certificate?

      • MelRae

It's like a gift card to use in the store. They only issue the rewards once a quarter (every 3 months), and you have to have at least $10 in rewards (they will build up over time). But it sounds like just 2 cartridges will get you to your reward, which will likely come after March 31st.

I order a toner cartridge last week online from a place Jenny recommended months ago. It should be arriving any day. I was wondering what to do with my old toner cartridge. Since I was able to get in on that 30.00 Office Depot gift card deal I did price the toner there before I ordered online. Reading through the program and you are required to purchase at least the amount they give you in rewards. My question is can I take in cartridges when I purchased them elsewhere as long as I purchase other things during the year or are the rewards good on just ink and toner? I know I will not be buying toner from Office Depot anytime soon as they were double the online place for the toner my printer takes.

        • Outtolunchmom

I don't see in the ad that the promotion will last 15 days. It just says 1/9 to 1/15. Does it last through the next week also?

    • Kris

Oh my GOSH, that is a great deal. I JUST (like last night) turned in 10 cartridges to Staples for $2 back. :-( But I just roll the rewards back into more ink cartridges! I do it for my church too!

    • Amandarene25

I must be missing something. Is there a coupon that I need to print for this or is it just an add that is running?

    • Us3shuz

according to there web site it is $2.00

    • carolc23

Sweet! My stockpile of dead ink cartridges will be on it's way there tomorrow, then!

Be careful about this…my friend recycled 20 last month and and they only issued the rewards up to what she spent….this is on their worklife rewards site..”. Recycling Rewards will not exceed the amount of your total qualifying annual Office Depot purchases. Qualifying purchases exclude taxes; delivery fees; postage stamps; and prepaid gift, debit, phone or services cards; and purchases made with Office Depot Reward and Merchandise Cards.”. She had only spent $16 and that is all she got back recycling 20 cartridges.
