Is the maxperks like a shopping loyalty card that they put the money back on and you can use to take off future purchases like a coupon/rebate?

      • Amy

Yes,  only drawback is that it can take a month or more for the credits to post.

        • Lisabluedevil

I'm  struggling to understand this program.  My account shows that I have qualifying purchases but it does not show any rewards.  Also, how exactly do I get and use the rewards?  Email? Snail Mail?  Or do they come off when they scan my card?  Do rewards expire?

          • Amy

Yes, that's the drawback, you can see the qualifying purchases but the actual reward is posted much later.  I get an email when the rewards are available, then you can log in to your account and print the certificate.  But the good news is that they don't expire for a year.

            • Kelleyharold

My Perks always expire in way less than a year!  I think it's about 3 months after they are issued.

            • Erikashines

I think you have a year to use the max perks in Florida. Everywhere else 3 months from the date available to you. Fine print stuff. Love to use my rewards on ink. And max perks allows you to use rewards to purchase other items that generate 100% rewards. GREAT!

          • TeacherinSC

The qualifying purchases usually show quickly but they rewards only come out quarterly- they just were issued in July for April-May-June so now we are in quarter July-Aug-Sep so the rewards will be issued by the 15th of Oct.

Does anyone know where the $1.00 coupon for the Scotch scissors are?  The link available only shows me tape and laminating coupons…Thanks

      • max'smom

there is 2 pages of coupons. check on the 2nd page

        • Junk133

Thanks but I only have tape and laminating on page 2 maybe they are gone :-(

          • Guest

They must be all gone.  There used to be two pages with a total of eight coupons.

Does Office Max take competitor's coupon (i.e. Office Depot)?

    • cindharb

Asheville's Tunnel Road OfficeMax has $2/5 Expo dry-erase marker 4-packs, plus a coupon for $5 off 3 select Expo and Sharpie products.  Plenty of coupon there as of 11:30 today.  The coupon is located at a display that's about 1/3 of the way back into the store, slightly left of the center of the store as you face the back.  I was not aware of the “Sharpie Blue or Black Pens, 2 pk., $1.50 must buy (2) to get this price” deal posted above, but can say that those Sharpies are not at that display.  If you don't want to just go ahead and get 4 packs of  Dry erase markers, you could really maximize this deal by poking around to find the the 2pk/1.50 Sharpies and seeing if they were among the items covered by the $5 off 3 coupon.

      • cindharb

I mis-stated the Expo deal.  It's 2/$5 for dry erase markers.  If you just buy one it's full price.  So if you use the $5 off 3 coupon, plan accordingly about how many Dry Erases you get.

        • Yumi

FYI, my Office Max would only allow me to use 1 of the $5 off coupons…

      • CuponGirly

I did same thing today, and you can just get 3 packs of expo for 7.50 minus the $5 coupon.  That's 2.50 for 3 packs of Expos.  AWESOME deal!!!!!

    • 3bettins

My favorite thing about the Office Max rewards program is that you can buy gift cards with the rewards! They carry the Visa, MC and Amex along with TRU, Sephora, Starbucks, gas and lots of others. Great for Christmas!

      • TeacherinSC

That is awesome- I did not know that.  I have about $60.00 in perks from last week that will be available by mid Nov. so that will be great for holiday shopping.

Think I'll buy the perks again this week and add to that total.  I am a teacher and some kids cannot afford a backpack so I can get 2 of them for free.

      • Jen

Thanks for sharing this information! How do you get the gift cards? Can you buy them online or just in store?

    • Susan

anybody have any experience with the “ful” backpacks here at office max?

      • Ellie

I looked them over last week when I went in. The ful brand ones I saw looked really well made.

      • Troybduncan

i have a ful backpack and it is awaesome…..

    • Cheli0707

Don't forget that you can also pass in empty ink catridges to get rewards also :)

    • Yumi

I did last week's paper deal, can I still do this week's paper deal too?

      • Rebecca

I'm pretty sure you can  – it was a different type of paper last week.

    • Ferrugiae

Can the rewards be used to buy printer ink cartridges?

    • Stella02

How is this s good deal if you only get $25 back for every $500 spent? I will never spend $500 a year in this store, even with paper, ink, etc. Please help. Perhaps I am looking at the wrong thing, MaxPerks Yellow card for home.

      • Couponaccount02

Because OfficeMax runs specials where you can get 100% of the purchase price back in max rewards. This makes the item free. Generally I'll make the 100% back purchases and then use my rewards to buy stuff like printer ink (which rarely goes on sale). If you combine this with the coupons they send it can make for some excellent deals.

    • Amy

Question about MaxPerks: If I get a backpack for $20, I'll get the $20 in MaxPerks later in the fall. Can I use a little at a time, or do I need to use all $20 at one time?

      • Kelleyharold

You can use it however you want.  Just keep in mind that it does expire, so if you do not use it all at once make sure you remember to use the balance before the expiration date.

    • Beth Anne Saves

Our church is collecting notebook paper or I guess they call it “Filler Paper” anyone know the best place to get it…Office max has it BOGO but I don't know how much 1 is….

      • Redbeelips

I have been looking for wholesale filler paper, too.  Still not able to locate a supplier for our church back-to-school rally.

    • Kim Skipper

I tried to use the $1 off the energel x pens. I was using the b1g1 deal then the total came up to 16. I was told you can't use the coupon with the deal because it can't take a $1 off of $0. Doesn't make sense why it wouldnt take the $1 off the full price one. So I ended up not using the coupon and getting two for 7.79 plus tax.

    • Kaileynikole913

This week, they have Sharpie pens 2 for $3.  There is a coupon for $5 off of a purchase of 3 Sharpie or Expo products on a large stand in the store.  Pick up 4 packages of the Sharpie pens (blue or black), for an overall price of $1!!! Great deal!
