It’s almost that time of year again… Time to start thinking about Operation Christmas Child boxes!
Last year I went to the OCC distribution center in Charlotte, NC where we got to go through the boxes to make sure everything was good to go to the children in other countries. Not only did I get to help these boxes get sent off, but I got some great ideas for what other people pack in their boxes!
One of the things I saw last year was medicine bottle with nails inside along with a hammer. Such a smart idea to keep the nails together so the kids can have the ability to fix or build something when they receive their box. This idea got me thinking about other small kits I could put together to put in a shoe box.
The first kit idea is a fishing kit:
Empty Altoids Can
If you have room after everything else you’ve packed in the box, you can include a fishing net as well as an alternative to the fishing line.
