This morning I am on a mission with my dear friends at Operation Christmas Child to take over Manhattan and get the word out about Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes!  As I write this I am getting ready to walk to the Good Morning America show, plus we have other members of our team hitting the other morning news shoes.  We’ll be walking New York singing carols, taking pictures and talking Christmas.

For more information on Operation Christmas Child go here.

I would love to have you join me virtually today!  Follow me on Twitter for pictures and to see who all we bump into, or follow the entire event on ShoeBoxBlitz.com.  You can see where all 100 boxes are in NYC, plus videos, tweets and more!

If you haven’t packed a box yet, it is very easy to do.  Grab any show box or plastic tub and load it up with everything you think a child would love.  These get sent to over 100 countries to children who have never received a gift in their life.  I helped pass them out in Haiti earlier this year and still remember crying as we struggled to convince the kids that these were their gifts to keep.  To see just how easy it is to pack a box watch a short video I made (with a few personal notes on special things to include).

On a fun note, we have a person dressed as a shoe box for each country OCC sends shoe boxes too.  So I’m representing Iraq today!
