A Quality Bookbag

A quality bookbag becomes one of the most important assets to a college student. It carries everything they need and makes walking across campus a lot easier. Cheap bookbags break and can be very unreliable. Nothing is quite as embarrassing as having all the contents of your bookbag spill out in the courtyard.

Laundry Bag

Even though dorm rooms have limited space, a laundry bag is a necessity. This can make the difference between a clean, neat room or a filthy nuclear wasteland, but the laundry bag is still a huge help.

Mini-Fridge & Microwave

Some people see this as an unnecessary addition to a dorm room but I feel that it is key to saving money. Opting for a smaller meal plan is a great idea, but it means your child will have to make some meals themselves. This is made easier with the help of a mini fridge and microwave. Keeping yogurt, milk, and other items makes for easy, healthy snacks or quick bowls of cereal in the morning. Both appliances will pay for itself in no time. Sometimes these are provided with the room; if not, then look on Craigslist and go used if possible!
