Shopping at Kroger can mean lots of extra savings on gas right now! They have a few different Fuel Point promotions that you can take advantage of (and even combine) to save up to $1 off a gallon.
In case you’ve never used their Fuel Points, here’s the basics you should now… you earn 1 point for every $1 spent at Kroger. 100 points is equal to 10¢ off per gallon of gas up to 35 gallons. You can save up your points and use up to 1,000 points to save $1 off per gallon. Your points are good through the following month after you earn them.
Earn Extra Fuel Points

Double Points With Private Selection Products
Starting now through 10/18, earn 2 points for every $1 spent on Private Selection products! This is one of the Kroger Labels you’ll find all over the store. Double points on Private Selections items is running at all Kroger stores but does exclude Ralph’s, Fred Meyers and Quality Food Centers.

4X Points With Gift Cards
Load a new Kroger Digital coupon and you’ll earn 4 times the fuel points when you buy gift cards from 9/20-9/27 and again 10/11-10/18. That means you earn 200 points when you buy $50 in gift cards! If you need gift cards outside of those weeks you’ll still earn double points on them regularly.

50 Points With Survey
Get half way to your first 10¢ savings when you submit the survey on the bottom of your receipt. Each survey earns 50 fuel points. You can earn this once every 7 days. If you shopped every week, that would be 200 points a month! I just did the survey on my receipt and it took about 3 minutes (I also had a super sweet cashier so it was great to give her praise too).
50 Points with Prescriptions
For every qualifying prescription you fill at a Kroger Pharmacy you’ll earn 50 Fuel Points. This is for prescriptions not using federally funded programs.

Buying a car can be slightly overwhelming if you don’t know what to look out for. What are your best tips when shopping for cars?
Tips for Saving Money When Buying a Car
1. Research Before You Go
Pick out 1-2 cars that you’re interested in and do all of the research you can before you head to the dealership. See what a good price on the car is so you can negotiate with the dealer when you arrive. Ask the dealer if they’ll match a price that you found online through an online retailer.
2. Email First
Email the internet department of the dealership before you go to see if you can negotiate before you go in. Make sure your quote includes all of the extra costs a dealer adds in so you aren’t thrown off when you arrive to pay for your car.
3. Visit the Lot After Closing Time
If you’re someone who makes hasty decisions under pressure, check out all of the cars after the dealership is closed so you don’t have to worry about salesmen walking up to you. Once you have a handle on the car that you definitely want to buy, you can walk into the dealership with confidence that your decision won’t be swayed.
4. Bring Your Own Financing
If you secure a car loan through a credit union or a traditional bank, it could save you some money in the long-run to not have to get your financing through the dealership.
5. Buy a Pre-Owned Car
We all know that a car greatly depreciates the second your drive it off the lot. Consider getting a certified pre-owned car to save major money. Make sure the car has a Car Fax so you know the history of the car you’re buying.
6. Buy the Old Body Style
If you’re really craving the new-car smell, you can buy an older body style of the car you want when the new model comes out and you’ll save a lot of cash.
7. Shop at the Holidays
Dealerships are always offering rebates and promotions around certain holidays. If you can hold off on buying a car until then, it’ll pay off.
