Did you know that every area and paper get different coupons?
This is one of the biggest things that can frustrate couponers… we all want the great coupon and only a few select areas got it. Each week volunteers send in their insert lists so to show exactly what came in your area. I take these and put them into the coupon database. In turn you can then have shopping lists that only show the coupons in your area! Take a look at this week’s coupon insert variations from 7/24.
Click on your newspaper to see which coupons you actually received.
If you’re paper is not covered and you’re interested in helping, feel free to email me at jenny@southernsavers.com for directions. I promise it’s easy!
As folks send me their lists I will continue to update this list.
A legend for the list:
Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.

Elastic hair ties are all the rage right now. You can find them at Target, H&M, Anthropologie and they can be very pricey.
At Anthropologie you can get (5) for $24, making them $4.80 each. The good news is that you can follow this trend for a fraction of the price by making them yourself.
Seriously guys, this project is so fast and easy that you can even let the kids help.
Supplies
5/8″ Fold Over Elastic (you can get it on Amazon or JoAnn’s)
Sheet of Paper or Ruler
Sharp Scissors
Lighter
How To Make Them
1.) Cut a piece of elastic 9″.
If you are using a sheet of paper, use the short side. You can make them smaller for children or larger if you have a bigger wrist.
2.) Fold the elastic in half with the decorative side out.
3.) Tie a small knot with the elastic ends.
Any type of basic knot will do. Be sure to pull it tight so that it won’t come untied.
4.) Use a lighter or candle to melt the edges.
This will remove any current fraying and prevent the edges from fraying in the future. You do not need to set it on fire, just get it close to the flame and you will see it melt.
That is all! Now you can make your own hair ties for a faction of a cost.
I paid $14.99, including shipping, for 15 yards of elastic. You can make approximately 4 hair ties from 1 yard of elastic. So for $15, I can make 60 hair ties! That makes them 25¢ each!
They make great gifts. You could even get together with friends make them in different elastics and swap for a larger variety.
