            Coupon Insert Variations

Did you know that every area and paper gets different coupons?  This is one of the biggest things that can frustrate couponers… we all want the great coupon and only a few select areas got it.  Each week volunteers send in their insert lists so to  show exactly what came in your area.  I take these and put them into the coupon database.  In turn you can then have shopping lists that only show the coupons in your area!!

Take a look at this week’s coupon insert variations from 11/24. Click on your newspaper to see which coupons you actually received.

If you’re paper is not covered and you’re interested in helping, feel free to email me at jenny@southernsavers.com for directions.  I promise it’s easy!

As folks send me the lists I will update this page.

            A legend for the list:

Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.

One of my favorite parts of the season leading up to Christmas is buying gifts for other folks.  Kohl’s came to me this year with a fun opportunity to buy for a teenage girl in my area through United Way and I jumped on the opportunity.

They gave me $150 to buy gifts for her and a small list of what she wanted.  It was actually a very vague list with just her sizes.  Not having a teenage girl (and it having been a good 14 years since I was a teenager) I panicked.  I asked a friend that is much more trendy than I to join me and try to help me think like a teenager.

My goal, while being trendy, was to try to get her a ton of stuff for the $150 gift card.  We focused on the clearance section first and then splurged on a 50% off coat.  Don’t worry we also used the friends and family 20% off coupon.

We picked out lots of new outfits for her, but her one request was a pair of high heel shoes.  In the store they were out of her shoe size, but turns out you can order online while in the store and have it shipped to you for FREE.  In all, we were able to get her:

              3 shirts
              1 dress
              1 pair of jeans
              1 maxi skirt
              1 very nice coat
              4 nail polishes
              1 bag of chocolate
1 pair of shoes (they arrive next week)

              photo 22photo 32photo 5

She didn’t really ask for the nail polish or chocolate, but I wanted her to have something fun other than clothes.   Kohl’s sell lets of toys and games but not knowing her personally, that’s hard to shop for.

              Want to help others?

My tip would be to see if you can find a family in need who has children around the same age as yours.  Then, when you can just grab duplicates of some of the gifts when you’re out shopping for your own family.  Or, it’s really fun to get the whole family involved and let your kids pick out gifts they think the family would enjoy.

Whether you’re shopping for your own family or a family in need, Kohl’s is a great place to stop.  Check out the Kohl’s toy page if you’re doing online shopping or just shopping around for ideas before you head to the store.  Right now through the weekend they are offering $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend plus use code BLACKFRI to get 15% off.

When you’re doing your shopping, use the #GivingWithKohls and #KohlsDreamToys on social media so we can keep up with what you’re shopping for.
