I constantly hear two excuses for why people don’t coupon:
1. We only eat organic or non-processed foods so nothing we buy ever has coupons.
2. Drugstores are way over priced, I get everything at Walmart.
While I can’t always help #1 folks (though I will say everything in the store does go on sale…) I can help everyone with their personal and household needs. So for the next month I will be sharing through video and detailed posts exactly what we bought at CVS and in what order. Hopefully after a few weeks you’ll realize just how wonderful the drugstore game is and be up for trying it out. I’m pretty sure everyone needs soap, toothpaste, shampoo and deodorant — so it can’t hurt to try it!
To see the breakdown of Week #1 go here.
For week two I had $12 in ECB left from my week #1 trip. This was a slow week for deals, but there were a few fun things so we might as well swing in. Also if it helps any of you, right now I have no current coupon inserts as I battle the paper carrier to deliver a paper in the boonies… so these trips are almost 100% with printable coupons.
I did this in one transaction:
Bought:
(2) Dial Body Wash, 18 oz, $4
(1) Renu Contact Solution, 12 oz, $7.99
(1) CVS Brand Calcium Citrate, 60 ct., $2.82
Used:
-$2 off $8 in Body Wash, CVS coupon center coupon
-$1 off Dial or Dial for Kids body wash (Facebook) printable
-$2 off Bausch+Lomb Renu Fresh or Sensitive multi-purpose solution, 8 oz+ printable
-$3 off any Vitamin, CVS coupon center coupon
-$8 ECB
-$2 ECB
Total Due: 87¢ (after tax)
Got Back: $7 ECB ($5, $2)
I also just got an email that between last week and this week I hit the $50 Beauty Club reward, so next time I’m in the store I will get another $5 ECB!!!
So far for the first two weeks my totals are:
Total before sales and coupons: $147.97
Total spent after tax: $32.14
ECB Remaining: $14 (including the beauty reward)

Summer may have just started, but guess what… back to school sales start this coming weekend! So to help you get ready for the back to school sales here is a supplies price list with the average prices we saw last year on most key back to school items. From year to year the great deals really don’t change that much in price, so look for most of these again for 2013.
I will have all the office supply store ads up on Saturday so you can prep for Sunday deals. Remember that you can also price match many name brand (not store brand) deals at Walmart or Target. This can many times be the better option as they have a larger supply.
