Happy Friday! We had a fun week this week as a family. I like the weeks where I look back and feel like it was productive. Not only did I manage to finish all the laundry before the weekend, it also got folded and put away! That’s a monumental kinda week at our house. After all that getting to end the week at a home school conference was like icing on the cake. We all need encouragement, and this has been perfect for us.
As for shopping, earlier this week I ran out to Food Lion (now our closest grocery store) for milk and some produce. After traveling all last week all I wanted this week as salad. It makes me slightly sick that if I need a few things my only option close is the one store in our area that doesn’t double. I walked the store to see if I could find any extra deals, and left even more frustrated with this fact. I’m glad we are in the country and wouldn’t go back, but there are moments where I’m homesick for the Publix less than a mile away.
Food Lion:
Total before sales and coupons: $55.71
Total Spent: $36.85
Total Saved: $18.86 or 33.8%
This was mostly all produce, milk and bread. I used a whopping 4 coupons (though I went with many more in hopes for extra deals). Most of the savings was just sticking to sales and markdown deals.
We also hit a few thrift stores in town this week. It was a fun family night out, though it ended with my five year old begging to just buy something. She obviously doesn’t understand window shopping. Her night did end happy when we found a box of books marked 10¢ each, so out total trip cost $1.40 as we went crazy and got 14 books. Big spenders… There was a lot more that caught my eye, but nothing that we had to have this week.
