This week Walmart has Scrabble Flash on sale for $19.84. Pair that with a new coupon for $5 off select Hasbro Games (including Scrabble Flash). That makes the price after coupon just $14.84.
This is an awesome price since this game is normally $27!

If you are struggling with what to get a parent or grandparent for Christmas, you have to check out recordable story books. I was introduced to these about a year ago, Hallmark sent me one to test last Christmas so I gave it to my Grandmother to record the The Story of Christmas for my girls. It was something that she had to have a little help with since her fingers can’t unscrew the lock that goes over the record button, but in the end it was a gift for her and I. She was brought to tears at the idea of being able to forever read my kids a book, and I am still brought to tears every time I hear it (to confess I’m crying just as I type this).
I have no doubt that anyone in your life would have the same excitement as we did.
One other thing Hallmark is known for are their cards. You can actually make personalized Hallmark cards online! Try it out and get 20% off your entire order of $20 + with code SOCIAL20.
Today we’re giving away 3 Recordable Storybooks from Hallmark so you can record the story that your child can keep for a lifetime. This year Hallmark Recordable Storybooks not only record a reader’s voice directly into the book; they now feature music! You can read or sing along with the holiday classics and share the story when you’re miles apart from your loved ones. Another fun addition, you can get The Very First Christmas in Spanish with English subtitles.
Today we’re giving away three titles that I’m sure you’ll love.
The classisc A Charlie Brown Christmas
Read or sing along with Frosty the Snowman
The Very First Christmas tells the story of the true meaning of Christmas.
The Giveaway:
Hallmark is giving away one of these 3 books to 3 Southern Savers readers. (The books will be randomly assigned to the winners).

Looking for some fun new learning toys for your kids?
The Brilliant Creations Advanced Notebook from VTech is an educational toy laptop inspired by the real thing and designed to teach your child essential skills for success. The notebook features a 4.5″ LCD color screen. It includes 120 learning activities that teach language arts, science, math, foreign language, creativity and more to help your child get ahead in school. The Notebook even has a mouse and touchpad so your child really feels like they are using a grown-up laptop.
VTech sent us a notebook to try out and review. I think my girls must have x-ray vision, because the minute the box arrived they knew it was for them. It says it is for ages 5-8, but my 3 year old had it figured out within minutes. There are a few things I love, the biggest being that it doesn’t require tons of cartridges to play games. So far the 120 games that are on it have kept us very entertained. I also like that all of the games are related to reading, art, math, and other subjects. Not that I don’t let my kids just play games, but I feel better when our play is still educational. The other feature I like is that it has an external power adapter, meaning I’m not going to pay out the nose for batteries. It does run on batteries if you want to mobile, but at least there is another option!
The only thing I would mention negative about it is the graphics display. It’s not as advanced as we adults might expect, my kids could care less though. If graphics are important to you I would recommend that you pay a bit more and go for the Innotab (VTech’s new tablet for kids).
This notebook is suggested for children ages 5-8 and can be found at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, VTech and Amazon.
