I have some very exciting news for all of you Publix shoppers! Publix Digital Coupons will be available at every store soon.

The Schedule:

-All Alabama Stores: 3/8/13
-All Florida Stores: 3/8/13
-All South Carolina Stores: 3/13/13
-All Georgia Stores: 3/14/13
-All Tennessee Stores: 3/15/13

You will not be able to use your coupons until the date listed for your state, but you can already sign-up and even load coupons. Many do not expire until March or April so you will be able to use them when they go live.

To use the coupons you will give your phone number at checkout. Your coupons will then be automatically taken off your bill.

Like most digital coupon programs these can’t be stacked with paper coupons. Their Frequently Asked Questions say that if you use a paper coupon, the digital coupon just won’t come off your bill. You can combine this with Upromise and Ibotta deposits though.

You can see all of the current Digital Coupons and sign-up here. There are currently 100 coupons so this has great potential savings!

Any idea how these work with BOGO deals? If a coupon is $1/1 but the item is BOGO, will you be able to use two coupons? Do you “clip” two to your account ?

      • Kerri

I have been using them for a few months and you can only clip one of each coupon. However they are Publix store coupons and you can still use manufacturer coupons with them.

        • Kerri

Or maybe its that I used the digital and a Public coupon.

        • Jeffy Walker

I’ve used them and you can pring out more than one or save them as a PDF.

    • Jess

Can you still use a manufacturer coupon as well as the digital coupon on single item as before?

      • Jenni P.

As Jenny noted, no. Either, but not both.

      • Maybe they mean you cant use a publix store coupon with a e coupon it would be like using two stores? Maybe you can use one e coupon or one paper “Publix” as well as a manufacturer.

    • Joanne

Will electronic coupons double if they are $.50 or less?

      • That’s my question!

      • Julie Kemp Jackson

No. I emailed them specifically, and asked that. Here was my question:

The FAQ page says digital coupons “are the same as paper
coupons, only without the paper.” Does that mean the electronic coupons will
double in value up to $.50, like paper coupons?

        Here’s their response:

Coupons are manufacturer coupons and cannot be Doubled or Combined with other
coupons. I know this is not what you are used to with Publix, however it is up
to the manufacturers. (this is also in the FAQs)

      so fun!

    • Tami

Question….. 1 Will Publix now have a card to use like Kroger and you are loading them on it? 2- I wonder if they will still have the paper coupons and booklets in the store? I stack the paper ones with man and use them at Bi-Lo . I personally do not like the ones that you load to a card because you cant stack them with man coupon

      • Kerri

No. You register with a phone number.

    • darbe

i live in FL and am not excited for e coupons, i like actually clipping coupons !!!!

    • Meme007

Will we be able to use Saving Star with Publix purchases if tracked electronically?

    • mrslmoore24

I am SO happy about this!! YAY!

    • KEB2009

guess bilo has one-uped them as far as ecoupons go. at least they allow and e-q and a paper q to be used.

    • Jeffy Walker

I used these before and they i didn’t know it but the cashieres took them off. Plus i had paper coupons!!! Very weird.

    • lynn

it reads as though these are manufacturer coupons not store coupons since you can’t stack…does anyone know which one they are? i can see if they are manuf. and you can’t use another manuf. paper coupon on top of it but if they are store coupons you should be able to…does anyone know? thanks!

      • Jeffy Walker

I tried using one the other day n the assistant customer manger said i can’t use before x month and date and it should have a number on it. that lead me to believe it is a publix.

    • Jeffy Walker

Can you use your windixie card at Publix with thier new coupons? Also cant they scan if there is coupons on it?

      • Phil Stricker

You sign up with your phone number and give it to the cashier at checkout. This is in lieu of a store card.

    • lynn

okay i just called the help line for the digital coupon program and was told that 1) these ARE manufacturer coupons 2) they CANNOT be combined in any way shape or form with another manuf. coupon (which we already know not to do) and the CANNOT be combined with any publix store coupons, this is no stacking scenario of any kind. she even mentioned that they could not be combined with any other digital coupon which makes me think that they not work with ibotta, (i did not think to verify that specific item when i was on the phone). but i say that because she was insistent that they could not be used with any other type of coupon, store, paper or digital. 3) these digital coupons will NOT double for those of us who shop at stores who double. i hope this information is helpful.

      • Jeffy Walker

Then doing this whole coupon E coupon thing isn’t ever worth it! Why not say MF on it. This so stupid. Who’s say anyone will use these?

        • lynn

yes i agree. i will be saving more with my paper coupons and stacking store coupons. i do not see myself embracing this way of couponing.

          • Jeffy Walker

I emailed someone at corpate and and they said to look on the coupon conditions and nowhere on ther does it say it can’t be used on more than one item and it can not be combined with other coupons.

    • Angel

okay ! I just got off the phone with customer service. I asked the questions that I didn’t see had been asked so far:
1.bogo items- digital coupons will not come off of. They are already on sale.
      2. competitor’s coupons- The store will still take your $5 off $25 save a lot, but the computer may or may not kick out your digital coupon. ( I would love feedback from someone in the regions already using digital coupons )
BASICALLY these coupons are designed for NON couponers. The rep said its supossed to encourage people to use them who wouldn’t want to spend the time and cut them. For people that buy these items at full price all the time. Not us couponers who shop in cycles.
Hope this helps. I feel confused as ever :(

    • Sarah

Does anyone know if these coupons will double? If not with a paper coupon we may save more.

      • lynn

        no they don’t :(

    • Tricia

I’m in Florida, and the main reason I shop Publix is that I can stack even on BOGOs. Doesn’t sound as if going digital would be an improvement!

    • Nancy

I was excited!—-Until I read the comments. I’m not so thrilled now. We may not have paper coupons on some things, but if we give our phone #, the computer may get confused and kick out the paper ones we do have!

    • Medaton

This will not be a good deal for shopping at Publix. I found out the hard way when adding Kroger electronic coupons. Their electronic coupons are not as great a value as manufacturer coupons.

    • FLmom

Are we able to clip more than one at a time? In FL if and item is BOGO can I use two of the same e-coupon? Also, will they be phasing out paper Publix coupons?

    • Becky

I am in Florida and was told last night about the digital coupons. The cashier also said they aren’t looking at expiration date and will take coupons 6 months old. This is all supposed to start Thursday. I looked on Publix website but didn’t see anything about expired coupons. Has anyone else heard about this?
