I haven’t done the penny item in awhile but when I have the penny item coupon has been in Wednesday’s paper (Post & Courier) in the A section. You will probably have to look through very careful cause it usually blends in with other ads in that section.

i ended up finally finding it.thanks

Do you mean newspaper or store sale ad?

    • erin

mine shows up in the Thursday paper (which is when our add starts in my area). I usually find my coupon on the first couple pages of section A of the actual paper, NOT in the publix flyer. hth

in murfreesboro, tn, we now have to purchase the local newspaper and clip the coupon out of it. i consider the item no so free when publix has partnered with the local newspaper company. i feel like if publix actually wanted to offer the item for a penny, they would still offer the coupon in their weekly sale paper. not saying i don’t purchase the paper just to get the coupon…i have. just don’t think it’s a fair thing to do.

Except from when it’s an exceptional item, it seems like the Penny item has been really lackluster lately, and you only save 20-50 CENTS in the end, after having to buy a paper. Boo. Between that, and the gas to make a special trip on Wednesday that I wouldn’t otherwise make… NOT worth it most of the time (especially for something unhealthy like soda, that we rarely purchase anyway). I really wish Publix would consider putting the coupon back in their ad on Sunday, but in order to keep their mid-week sales boosted, have the Penny item DAY on Wednesday. Right now, if seems like it’s just a gimmick to boost their Wednesday paper sales.

I agree. I haven’t done the penny item in a couple of months now. I too usually will just purchase the local paper for .75 but by the time you buy the paper it’s no longer a penny….I sometimes will stop in to a local coffee shop or interne hot spot. People like to read the paper while having coffee then leave it behind to be disposed of…..if there happens to be one nearby your local publix then bonus right?

    • Leslie

My Publix doesnt require the Coupon for the penny item. Are you sure yours does?

      • AP

Our local stores place a note at the registers that it is now required. I think it started a few months back.

I live in Gwinnett County (Atlanta) and can’t find the penny item coupon. Is it usually in Thursday’s Gwinnett Daily Post paper?
