try deleting your temporary internet files – if that doesn't work try using a different browser. I prefer using firefox but sometimes it doesn't want bring up certain things so I have to go to Internet Explorer.

Did I see someone post previously, that the Gwinnett Daily Post has the coupon on Wednesdays? Can it be used at the Gwinnett stores on Thursdays? I prefer not to pay $1 for an AJC tomorrow, but would consider $.50 for the Gwinnett today. Thanks!

      • couponclary

it is in the GDP on Thursday, not Wednesday!

    • Jenn

Can anyone in Charleston, SC tell me where the penny item is located? I've been looking through the Sunday ads and the Wednesday ads and I'm not seeing anything anymore.

      • Judy

It is in the Post and Courier in the front page section, page 7A about halfway down. It no longer appears in the ads. It is always in the Wed. paper. I have also seen it in the Journal Scene if you live in Summerville on Wed.

        • Jenn

          Thanks so much!

Does Publix accept the Family Dollar coupons that were in the Red Plum mailer this week?

      • amyfurlong

it would depend on the individual Publix Store. You have to ask the store you use.

      • cutiehawk

Hi Rillabean; I work at Publix as a cashier in Franklin Tn. There is a new policy that came out about coupons and we have been ordered to be really on guard. Publix is now only accepting “competitor” coupons. What this means is a 5 miles radious from the store. For example; my store only takes Kroger and AJ Hill (I think is the name of the Hill store) No Harris Teeter, Taget or any other as they are not in OUR area. Spring Hill Publix would honor Target as they are down the street. This is how all the Publix are doing it now. Another change is that on the BOGO free. If you were to get 2 cans of tomatoes BOGO and presented 2 manufactor coupons; they would not be honored as you are only “buying” one. You could however use a manufacture and Publix coupon on one item. As far as Publix accepting Family Dollar, Walgreens, CVS etc. NO. They are not grocery stores. Only “competitor” coupons in the particular store 5 miles radious. We all had to be “retrained” on coupon policy. I hope this was helpful to all.

is there a limit on how many penny items you can get?

      • bethanne

        one per customer.

      • LoriMama

My store lets you get one for each $10 shopping trip. So if you split your purchases up into 3 different orders, you can get 3 penny items.

      • cutiehawk

one per customer per visit with at least $10 purchase. I have been known to make several trips in.

    • mommy2boys

If you buy the Snyder pretzels at 1.50 each and use the new Publix Ad on-line coupon – 0.50 off and the SS 1.00 off coupon (already on the shopping list for this week) – YOU get it FREE!!!

      • Ashley

Geez, now I don't know if I should SNEAK and do this or what. It clearly states mommy2boys that the store coupon is for the 8 oz bag, not the 9 to 10 oz that's on sale.

        • mommy2boys

I didn't catch that! Thanks! I would never intentionally be dishonest!

      • cutiehawk

Yes mommy2boys it would be free. You would be charged the tax.

Where is penny coupon in Hilton Head/Bluffton area?

      • Karen

Our local stores don't participate in the penny deal, Joe.

    • Jennifer

it was progressive soup at the one on dorchestor today not shells and cheese

    • C.Lee

I was informed by my local Publix (Alabama) that there is a new coupon policy effective May 1st, 2010.

As the Front End Manager understood and shared, Publix will no longer be taking competitor coupons- item or total purchase. The policy will be restricting coupons to only the manufacturer issued coupons both internet and print.

      Has anyone encountered this yet?

      • cutiehawk

As cashier at my Publix; I explained our policy to Rillabean above. A competitor is consider a grocery store in a 5 miles radious; so each Publix store has different competitors. Our store will take 1 manufactured and 1 publix coupon per 1 item.
I suppose the bottom line is what your store manager wants to push. We are told (ordered) to keep a sharp eye on the coupons coming through. Hope this helped.
