Courious…how many of the penny items can you buy for a penny?  Is there a limit?

      • I thought it was just the one with a $10 purchase.

Some of the Publixs I go to allow 2 if I spend $20 and have 2 penny item coupons.

      • Julie

My Publix allows me to do 2 deals if I spend $20. I divide my items into two separate $10 orders. I’m not sure if that’s “required” but I do it anyway.

I also make sure I have 2 copies of the coupon.

I have been told that it is one per family, even if my husband does a separate order.

Learned something new tonight.  I was told that Publix is only allowed to sell a certain number of the Mystery Item for a penny.  Then they change it to something else.  I knew they changed it when they totally sold out, but not after a certain amount.

Tonight I had a bag of the CORRECT tortilla chips but was told the penny item had been changed to jelly beans because they had already sold their allotted number of chips for a penny.  Of course the Wednesday paper is $1 and the jelly beans aren’t much more than that so I thought that wasn’t such a great deal.

The manager/supervisor chased me down when I was on my way to the back of the store to pick up the jelly beans and told me that she would let me get the tortilla chips this one time…

I never knew this.  Has anyone else ever heard of that particular policy?
