Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

Over the years I’ve become a pro at organizing grocery coupons, but I’m not always so great at the retail coupons.  They come in the mail, live on the kitchen counter for a while then get put by the front door with hopes for making it in the car.  In the end though, they rarely make it to the car and so I rarely have them to use when I need them!

This summer I heard of a really cool new app that helps you take that paper coupon and turn it into a digital coupon on your phone!  This means it never has to live on any counter, I can quickly load the coupon that came in the mail into my phone and then chunk the piece of paper.  SnipSnap lets you convert any printed coupon into a digital, mobile version.  This makes it so much easier to search and find the coupons you want right on your smartphone.  All you have to do is snap a picture of the offer (be it from a direct-mail piece, newspaper, or otherwise) and the app works its magic to scan all of the printed text and images.  Once your coupon is scanned, not only can you redeem it, but you’ll also receive expiration-date notifications and in-store reminders.

Did I mention that the SnipSnap app is FREE??

Another fun feature of SnipSnap is that you can browse the coupons that other users have loaded, and even take a look at coupon bundles.  The discover screen is where users can find the featured coupons & bundles of the week and the most recent snippings of other users. This is also where you can search through their database to find specific stores or deals.

Right now SnipSnap is only available for iPhones, but the Android app should be running very soon!
