Haven't done staples before, how do the easy rebates work?

      • dlg

you can either mail them in or do them online. I submitt online. Can request a check or visa card. it is really easy to submitt. also sign up for the rewards card b/c you get rewards on certain purchases back in your email. It takes about 6 weeks to get rebate back. sometimes less. I haven't ever had a problem doing the rebates.

      • tcherry

They aren't kidding when they say it's “easy.” The rebate form will print off with your receipt. So, always look for it when you're purchasing rebate items. You have the option of mailing in the rebate form OR submitting online at the website it provides. You put in your information and the rebate number information and submit. It's a clear process. If I didn't explain well just ask the Staples work associate. They should be able to point out all the information on the rebate forms to you. It's a great deal!

    • Shortgalal

Is there a limit to how many products you can get and still receive the rebate? Can I get 2 reams of paper for $1? I have done the rebates before, but never really had a desire for more than 1 item at the time.

      • Mandy

I've already been to Staples today. The copy paper, photo paper, paper clips, and envelopes are all limit 2. The pens are limit 1. It's a great week at Staples!

    • SKMsMom

How do the “instant in-store savings” work. Is it automatically taken off at the register? I have never done Staples before.

      • CJ

        Yes, it comes off automatically

    • Pickens_1

I can use Staples rewards money to buy the easy rebate items without “losing” it can't I?

      • carrie

Don't quote me, but I think you can use rewards on rebates but you can't use rewards on more rewards.

        • Alyson

I thought you could use rewards on rewards. I get rewards for ink cartridges and then when they come in I use them for buying more ink cartridges and get rewards too. But maybe that doesn't work for everything.

    • Lisabluedevil

If I bought the same pens a couple of weeks ago and submitted a rebate is this the same rebate? Or is this. one new and I can do it again?

      • amy

I believe it is a new offer, there is a different offer number this time.

    • Sharon

Are these deals in-store only, or can they be ordered on-line?

    • Mrspearson06

I have to say, Staples came through for me this week! I was shopping for a camera, and found the one I've been looking at for the clearance price of $185. And it came with a free 4g SD card ($20). I told the manager that I had a coupon for HHGregg and Office Max from my local Attractions book, and he told me I could use the coupons there! I used an HHGregg 10% off coupon, and got everything for $177 after tax. Overall, it was $100 off the original price! Super happy with Staples, and thought I would pass on that sometimes, if you play nice, they will take competitors coupons from those books! :)

      • Mrspearson06

Also want to add that a rebate popped out for free prints from Kodak for purchasing the camera!

    • Tanyalulu

My Staples did not ring up with instant savings on the paper clips or envelopes. So, I returned them all. If it's not free, I don't want it.

    • Lackley763

I didn't get the instant savings on any of the items listed above. Was that for just a certain area?

    • Say1399

is this a regional Staples deal? It wasn't in my our Chattanooga ad or online

    • Tgriggs777

I would never had even thought about shopping at Staples since I've started couponing (I'm a newbie…only been doing it about a month) if I hadn't seen this post by Jenny! Thanks so much!

I only spent $14 on $48 worth of stuff! (I spent $48 but will get back $34 in a rebate check…as if I only spent $14.) Here is what I bought (after rebate):
two 500-page pkgs of printer paper ($1 each),
two 50-pg pkgs. of photo paper (free),
two 6-pks of hightlighters ($1 each),
      one 5-pk Pentel pens (free),
one 18-pk. Ticonderoga pencils ($2…planning ahead for school supplies in the fall!),
two 200-pk paper clips (free), two pairs Westcott scissors ($2 each…reg. $7.49), two 12-pk mechanical pencils ($2 each).

One thing I discovered in my trip is that you have to get there early in the week to take advantage of all the deals…(I went on Tues…only the 3rd day in!) and there were a few things I had wanted to purchase that would have been free, but the shelves were emptied of those items already. Thanks again, Jenny!
