If you’ve been looking for a chance to get some good savings on gas, this might be your lucky break.

Walmart is now running a 90-day Rollback that allows you to save 10¢ a gallon on your fuel purchases at select Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations!  To get this great deal, you have to make the gas purchase with a reloadable Walmart gift card, Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart credit card.

This discount is good until 8/30/2011, which should give you plenty of time to save a good bit on your gas.  Make sure to check out all the locations that are participating.

(thanks for sharing Jamie!)

On AOL it says this offer will be good until Sept. 30

    • Trey

Many Chase credit cards are offering 5% cash back on gas from July 1 – September 30, which easily trumps this deal.  Check your card(s) and calculate the best deal!

    • Peggyrossmanith

Definitely use a reloadable gift card if you can. The Money Cards are $3 to purchase, $3 to load, a $3 monthly fee, and $3 if you need to speak to customer service. I used to work in the Money Center. Don't do it!

    • Shayelyn

The email I received from Murphy (along with a coupon for free Skittles) says the deal is good until 9/30.

walmart gift cards do not charge a fee!!!!

    • woo hoo!

    • Deb

Click on the link above and read the small print.  In some states it's not .10cents but .5 and .3 cents and not valid in several states.

      • Deb

FYI:  When you go to the Wal Mart link and then click on the link to “Get a Card”, that's where the small print stipulations are found.

    • mellie44

bummer we're not on the list…

    • Not the Murphy in Lake Wylie, SC. The next closest one to me isn't worth the drive.

      • amberleigh

You need to contact cooperate because all walmarts in the SC area are suppose to participate.

        • Well, it's not on the list, anyway. The Murphy here isn't part of the WalMart complex like a lot of Murphys and it's been here about 5 years but the WalMart has barely been open a year. I'm not sure if they're connected. I also can't believe there's only one in all of Charlotte that's participating and again, it's nowhere near me.

    • guest

Well it is great they are lowering it $.10, but they went up $.12 overnight before it was announced.  They were the only station to go up hmmmm not a good deal for me.

      • Klynn

Amen!  Got gas there the other day. Sent my mom by 3 hrs later and they went up $.19.

    • sunny

I was going to do it today because our Walmart was on the list but they didn't know what I was talking about so I went to Kroger instead.

    • Flwalks

It's good only when you use the Walmart credit card, not the gift card that you can purchase in the store.

      • Asdenc

If you read the website from Wal-Mart is says you can use the Reloadable GIFT CARD.

    • havim

Worked with gift card today..in Leland, NC

      • Quest

i always see this thing, is it ACTUALLY real like a rebate or something or does it require doing surveys and stuff and then they spam you like they usually do?

    • Tisha

Wow…we were planning on flying from NC to FL in August because it would be cheaper than paying for gas and hotel room, but now we may need to reconsider!  Thank you so  much for posting this!

      • Pete

hmmm it is a great savings but only a 3% savings approx. doubt very much that it will make any real difference in the decision to fly or drive.

    • Heather

ugh in alabama you have to have a walmart credit card; because of state restrictions you can not use the gift card or money card! major fail!

    • Just spoke with the Murphy Oil in Pelham, AL.  In AL you HAVE to use a Wal-Mart credit car and the actual 10 cent savings doesn't show until your monthly statement.  They also will not take the Sam's Club credit card (which I use at Wal-Mart all the time).

    • Guest

In Florida and Alabama you HAVE to use a Wal Mart Credit Card to get 10 cents per gallon off.  The reloadable card takes 5 cents off.  Wal Mart's web site is very misleading.  You have to really read the fine print.

    • You have to have purchased the gift card in the past few days. It will not work if you are using an old card. I work at Walmart and that is what I have heard.

    • worked with a walmart money card today wow! :)

    • Althearc

in goose creek sc got my 10 cent off with a wal-mart gift card 3.15 a gallon

    • Althearc

      discount is good to 09/30/2011.

    • Jacque

Does anybody know if wal-mart takes printable coupons?

    • Godsbigangel_2001

what do you have to do to walmartget the 10% off the gas at

    • April29678

I got a gas card from the cashier and it took 10 cent per gallon off the price. My location is Seneca, SC

    • Kdcoupon10

Seneca, SC Murphy Oil jacked up the price. They used to be one of the cheapest in town…now while everyone else is 3.29 they are 3.35…and the ones who normally are the highest in town are 3.31. Shame on Murphy Oil – sounds like they are trying to double dip there because I am sure Walmart is compenating them somehow for the extra discount and now they are trying to get it off the consumer as well by padding the price.

    • Ssellars06

I normally use fuel perks from Bi-lo to get my gas, but since buying a smaller car I do not get to use the whole 20 gallons they allow. So this is great for me because I do this and the hubby gets the fuelperks!! Saving gas for both of us is great!!

    • JC's girl 2536

It's not available at my Walmart :( I was so sad ………

    • CV

On the surface, a 10-cent discount seems like a great deal.  However, Walmart gas prices are now tracking…  wait for it…  10 cents HIGHER than the competition.  Case in point:  Kroger's base pump price currently at $3.59 ($3.56 if you have a Kroger card, $3.49 if you cash in 100 of your accrued points), while Walmart is at $3.69.  I also saw several other gas stations running in the low $3.60s, as well.  (Data: Warner Robins, GA prices as of 7/19/2011)

Bait and switch, it would appear.
