Kroger Weekly Ad 8/2-8/8

Posted on Aug 02 2009 | By Jenny · Comments View Comments

These are all the advertised and unadvertised deals at Kroger this week, starting today 8/02.  Many of the P&G items are the same but we lost a lot of coupons for them.  Some of the prices have changed, I tried to catch all of those today in the store.

Again the P&G deal list below is the complete list of products, even if it is not marked in your store these are reported to be working in all stores that are running the P&G promotion.
Remember:

  1. Load your P&G, Shortcuts and Cellfire Coupons before going out. (E coupons information)
  2. You can use a paper coupon with all the above e coupons for FREE products or even better savings WHY
  3. You do not have to buy 2 of B1G1 items to get the sale price
  4. Most Kroger stores double coupons that are .50¢ or less

FYI...my entire family works for kroger @ 3 diff stores (in great lake region though) and 2 of the stores have the policy to overide on the coupons for as many as the customer has as long as it is 1 coupon per item purchased. The other store (same zone mind you) won't. SO, bottom line is learn your stores. Ask the Customer Service Supervisor what the policy is before you shop, most times they are polite enough to answer and if they know you're willing to do separate transactions to get your deals, they will probably avoid it and override as they don't want to back up their lanes....that being said- rumour has it in the GLR stores, triple coupons this Fri,Sat,Sun 8/21,22,23! It is going to be a last minute advertisement, so be ready!

I'm outside Dallas, TX- Aussie products did not work for P&G deal, and they are $2.99 each. My cashier typed in the wrong price ($3.49 instead of $2.99) for my bogo coupon, so I still ended up getting 2 for $.50 total (used e-coupon, too). But, I had to find 2 other P&G items to reach my 4. Still a good deal, though! Also, they didn't have the pecan Honey Bunches of Oats in stock yet. Oh well.

    TO michelle post 58
I used so many of those coupons at KROGERS they worked fine no problem
  • CouponNERD
The Leonards - YES! I got coupons in the mail from Kroger this week, similar to yours. One for a free bag of Doritos! Kids were happy about that one.

Amanda - the fuel for school is a brochure sized coupon booklet that I found at the Customer Service desk at Publix. Not sure if Publix is in VA....
  • Amanda
This is for Baxter. I also shop at the Mechanicsville, VA store and have never had a problem with coupons or IP Qs. Do you mean you cannot use more than two total IP coupons or two of the same? I definately use more then two IPs regularly and sometimes of the same product as well. I have never had a problem with Kroger and when I do I go to customer service. If they mischarge me, don't double a coupon, miss a coupon (I keep track of # of Qs and $ price points), or whatever the case may be I take it to customer service. Also, I have had a catalina that expired two days before I went shopping and I called them and asked if I could still use it. The customer service lady said she would approve it if need be, but it scanned fine. Anyway, I shop at the store weekly and never have issues. If you do, talk to customer service and stay on top of all discounts and Qs. Ask and you shall receive!!! They like to keep their customers happy.

I received two coupon mailers from Kroger today. The one was a school shopping mailer (these special topic ones come about once a month or so) and a special one geared to my shopping (these are different per shopper). I am excited to get a $5/50 grocery Q and a $3/15 frozen foods Q. It has been awhile since I have seen these.

Amanda in Atlanta, I live in Snellvile, GA and when I added my card and zip code it said there are not any participating stores in my area. Did it tell you that as well when you did it?
  • Hanh
Ok, i read the top part and it says...some krogers double coupons that are 50 cents or less... so is there a limit to hte number of manuafacturer coupons that can be used?

    thanks
  • Hanh
I am new to knoxville,TN area. does kroger or target or food city accept competitor's coupon like from any of the other stores listed above or CVS or Walgreens? Or would any of the stores take multiple manufacturer coupons for one item? i hear a couple people mention doubling. Does kroger double coupons? what's the requirement for that?

    Thanks in advance
  • Amanda in Atlanta
Has anyone loaded their kroger card with the Unilever ecoupons that are new to the Kroger.com website? I noticed it there tonight, but I haven't seen anyone blogging about it today.

    http://www.softcoin.com/Sites/Unilever_MoreValu...

Check it out. Lots of great coupons on the list.

    Julie post 55

I had the same problem with pg esavers I had 4 that didn't come off for a total of $4.75 ,contacted them and got the same response you received. Got a email today saying I have been credited $5. (It took 3 days)and they gave me a extra .25 ,now hopefully the credit will deduct from my card.
  • Cat
The new P&G covergirl coupons are coded a 992, which for some reason always beep at Kroger. The ones from the 6/28 Parade should be fine.
  • Anne Marie
My Kroger in Canton GA also did not have the Crest 10/$10 but the cashier said she thought that was last week, but it should be coming around again in a few weeks. I'll save my coupons for then. I have 9 coupons some for .50 and some .75 so I am looking forward to great toothpaste deals!

    Anne Marie
  • Michelle - I used the $2.50/2 coupons and those DID work, no problem. I got 2 packs each of the powder puffs and makeup sponge wedges, so I also got a bit of overage.
  • Michelle
I tried to do the Covergirl deal last night with the $2.50/2 coupons, and the system wouldn't take the coupons. The items I bought were over $2 each before the $4 P&G discount, so I don't understand why they wouldn't take them. The cashier tried to override the coupons, but she couldn't.

Has this worked for anyone else?
  • joy
The Aussie wasn't marked as part of the promotion at my store either, but the $4 did come off of the price (I had a total of 4 participating items).
  • Peg
Milk/gallon at my Kroger store is $1.59 this week.
  • Michelle and Melanie - The Aussie was $2.99 in Knoxville but it also didn't have the P&G promo tags anymore (last week it did). I decided to get it anyway, used my paper $2/2 coupon, and the PG e-coup for $2 didn't come off!

This happened to me last week also when I bought Herbal Essences that WERE tagged as part of the promo. Used the Buy any HE product, Get FREE Styler paper coupon, and the e-coup didn't come off. I emailed P&G and all I got was a reply to make sure I'd bought the right items.
  • Michelle in Georgia, the Aussie is $2.99. These prices shown above are with the $1.00 P&G discount. (see Jenny's notes above). I believe if you had bought the (2) Aussie at $5.98/2, $2.00 would come off for the promotion, then the $2.00 P&G ecoupon (provided you added it to your Kroger card), then the $2/2 manufacturer coupons (provided you had this coupon), thus the 2 items would be free. I believe that is right. :) Melanie
  • beverly
Christianne, I just went to Kroger for the second time and also noticed that my shortcuts e-coupons did not work. I was able to use my PG and my cellfire but not the shortcuts. I'm like you and am not sure why but I won't plan on using them until I find out why.
  • Michelle in Georgia
They didn't have the 10 for 10 sale at my Kroger this week (Columbia Road in Martinez, GA), so I couldn't get the crest for 1.00. The cheapest crest toothpaste they had was 2.69.

Also, the cheapest Aussie hair care products were 2.99 instead of 1.99, so I didn't get any of them, either. :(
  • Elizabeth
Kraft salad dressing on sale at my store for $1.69. If you have the printable from a few weeks back for $1.50 off any Kraft makes it 19 cents.
  • Christianne
Thank you very much Tiffani! I will try that out :)
  • Tiffani
Hi Christianne. I believe you have to have them scan your groceries first and THEN your store card THEN your other coupons. Because of the computers it has to be done in a certain order.
  • Christianne
Hi, I had asked a question earlier, but never got answered. Has anyone tried the shortcuts e-coupons? I have only tried it once, and it did not show up on my receipt. If it works for other people, I'd like to try again. I've never had a problem with PG e-coupons though.. Thanks!
  • Whitney
I got coupons from Kroger in the mail yesterday! Lots of good ones. Free degree deo, salad, buns, OJ, cheese, and a few more...I'm excited!
  • Amanda
This may sound stupid I have a few questions. Is there a coupon limit for Manufacturer's coupons per transaction??? And the only Mento's coupon that I could find in the SS 6-21 book is for .55cents off!!! Am I looking over something or what's going on??? Also, what are the IPs. And does anybody know if all of the deals are adding up the same in Roanoke,Va. Please can anybody HELP!!!! I am going to Krogers today and I need to know!!! THANKS
  • Caroline Simmons
    Morning Susan!

I stack all the time. You may want to call corporate to get their take - 1.800.KROGERS.

Also, be sure to point out to them that if Kroger doesn't take IPs, why is it you can print the IPs from KROGER.COM.
  • Mina
The Colgate isn't on $10/10 sale.
  • Susan
I had trouble today at Kroger trying to stack a Kroger Q with a manufacturers Q. The floor supervisor said they could only take one coupon per item. He said it was corporate policy. Does anybody have a written copy of that policy? I told him that I do it all the time; he said the cashiers are "breaking the rules". Also, that Kroger does not allow IP coupons whatsoever. I am in Plano, Texas. Does anybody live around here that has a better Kroger??!!
  • just received "personalized" coupons from kroger (manu q's) of items i "buy most." imcludes:

anyone else got coupons in the mail?
  • Stacie
Completely bummed! I had 6 crest coupons, so could've gotten 6 tubes of toothpaste, but they weren't 10/$10....... I'm in Southwest, VA. I'm going to call them in the am to see if they just weren't marked. A lot of the other stuff was 10/$10 and the P&G prices were the same, so it makes no since to me as to why the crest toothpaste would be the only thing different. Does anyone know what's going on? I know Jenny said in an above comment that if the regional ad is different it could set off some deals, but as I said, so of the stuff is the same, just the toothpaste is different? It just doesn't make sense to me, so I'm gonna check it out tomorrow. Already got 6 free listerine pocketpacks and I'm going back for 5 more tomorrow, lots of free covergirl stuff and 9 boxes of tissues, I'll see what else I can get tomorrow! I have to do real grocery shopping tomorrow though, I cannot spend so much time on my bargain shopping.
  • Amber
I'm in Louisiana and I do not see any of these deals in the circular?
  • Kari
My Kroger had Pillsbury biscuits and crescents on sale this week. Buy 4/$1.00. I used my Buy 2/$1.00 coupon for the biscuits, and my Buy 2/.50 coupon on the Crescent rolls which was doubled. They were all FREE! I'm an excited newbie!
  • Debbie
Glad I'm not the only one bummed about paying more than the prices listed here at Middle TN Kroger stores... I've found our prices are 10-15% more... but I'm still thankful for the double coupons, e-coupons, etc!
  • Yes, you can send them to overseas military. I believe Jenny has a post about it on her site here, or you can google, erm, swagbucks "expired coupons to military" and you'll get some sites.

As for living in the Nashville area- yep. I noticed months ago that the things listed here are NEVER on sale in our area. I love this site for other stores, but for Kroger, I don't even bother. I just wait to see their ad in the paper or online. We rarely get the good deals other areas get.

ANYONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH EXPIRED COUPONS? OR COUPONS THAT I WON'T USE AT ALL? I once heard you can send them to people that buys stuff for the military, but don't know of one in my area... ANYONE??
  • Colleen
Thanks, Andrea for the Nashville update. I was so disappointed not to see the Barilla pasta on the 10 for 10 sale. Now I know why!
And I had noticed alot of the prices don't match up.
  • Jen
I've also noticed that some of the e-coupons show up at the bottom of the receipt with the traditional coupons and other e-coupons show up directly under the item they are discounting.
  • samantha, i am sorry, i have never had a problem with my card. i registered my DH card before i went shopping so i could get the ecoupons twice, and his card also worked. i use the self check out because when you hit the pay button, you see the ecoupons come off before you hit the "have coupons" button. hth

I spoke with a Kroger manager tonight who told me that most Krogers vary GREATLY region to region. She said that even within our direct district of 22 stores, stores could vary.

She told me that Kroger is working to become more streamlined, but that it will not be for some time.

Also, 10 for 10 is currently not an option in Nashville. Bummer!

gillette mach3 razors are $.49 when you use $3/1 in the pg insert, $2/1 pg ecoupon along with the $4 pg promotion

Oh! If only I could get those dang pg ecoupons to work!!! Neither PG, or Kroger, can tell me why. I given up and stick with plain old fashioned paper coupons. :-(

All but 1 of my local Krogers (southern VA) only allows 2 IP coupons per transaction. There is 1 that doesnt care how many IPs you use so I take the extra few minutes (and gas) and drive to that one so I can use the printables.

    Dear ThriftyMamaB,

I am also in Southern VA (near a NASCAR race track) and the prices and sales are waaaay different than those posted here. Also, e-savers coupons do not work, at least for me.

Do you find this to be true in your part of Southern VA?

    Thanks,
    Samantha

I live in Nashville, TN and these produce listed sale prices are consistently NOT available at our Kroger stores.
For example, this week's sales are not available.

    Sweet Red Cherries $1.88 lb
    Cameo Apples $1 lb

FYI for those living in the Davidson County area...

My Kroger in GA had the Close-Up toothpaste 10 for $10, not the Crest. Is anyone else running into the same thing? I really was looking forward to getting some toothpaste for free!! ;o)
  • Andrea
I went to Kroger today and nothing matched up. Am I doing something wrong? There was not one single deal that appeared the same. Crest was not 10/10. I went in to buy all of the items labeled "free" and none of them were even on sale. This was my first time shopping at this Kroger. Can some stores be completely different?

    I'm in Nashville.

    **Jenny Here**
Andrea - You are in a different ad region for Kroger. I think the ad cycle is different and the deals are not going to line up completely. Big deals should, but little deals usually will not. Sorry.
  • Maegan Hall
Christina, I bought 20 and saved $20. They even counted the stylers I bought, which I got for free with my coupon.
  • Is the PG $4/4 deal a limit of one per transaction? Or could I buy eight PG products and get $8 off? Anyone know? Thanks!
  • Maegan Hall
Sorry if this question has been asked before, but if I used a pgEcoupon last week, can I load it again? Also, I went shopping and used my pgE coupons several days ago and it's still showing that my pgE coupons have not been redeemed. Slightly confused since this is my first time using PGe.

I have also found that the Kroger in my area (Paris, Tx) say the machine will only double or triple up to three coupons (of the same product) in one transaction. This is a pain but I will usually make 2 or 3 separate transactions to override this problem. Sometimes the cashiers will offer to manually override the machine when you request a purchase to be divided into several transactions. I hope this helps.

I also have been noticing that our a CVS ad is slightly different than the one here. We didn't have the pepsi special :(
  • dallas, TX
milk here is $1.99 and they never did the one day sale. Wonder if they will do this coming week? our ad runs from Wed- TUES
  • dallas, TX
Well that one krogers that gave me trouble, I haven't been to in a while.
any other kroger will do more.
  • Christianne
Do the shortcuts coupons work?? I've tried it once, and it did not take any money off my bill.. I would like to try it again only if other people say it works. Thank you!
  • david
{dallas};;;;;;;;;;;; i always do three and i have no prob ,, plus my kroger will only dublle or triple up to 3 coupons so thats all i do in one transaction i live in fort worth
  • Kristen
Does Kroger accept other store's "in-store" coupons?
  • Tanya
I also don't see a Shortcuts E coupon for $.75/3 Hamburger Helper on the Shortcuts website.
  • Tanya
The Krogers in my area have gallon milk for $2.25, not $2.18 as listed here.
  • I rarely ever use more than 3 like coupons per trip anyway, so I've not YET run into the issue of not being allowed to use more printables than that.

For anyone in the Knoxville area, there was a Lean Cuisine coupon for Buy 2, get one free in one of the local ad mailers a few wks back. Also, not sure abt this week but last week the Barilla pasta deal did NOT include Lasagna noodles; those were $1.88 (and what I wanted!).

I have had the same problem with the # of coupons...I was told I could only use 2 printable coupons at the kroger I go to (mechanicsville, Va. Needless to say I havent been back to that Kroger.
  • Amanda
Jenny, when you say Fuel for School are you referring to the Kellogs insert from this Sunday? You refer to a $2 off fresh fruit coupon from Fuel for School, and I was wondering where you got that from? I did not have one of those in my Kellogs insert, so I am wondering if I missed something or if there were regional differences in this Fuel for School Kellogs Sunday insert? My coupons were all for $1 off in my Fuel for School insert. And none were on fresh fruit when you buy Kellogs products.
  • dallas, TX
I called kroger directly and they said is not a KROGER POLICY, however that management can do this if they like to do so.
    I just find it crazy.
  • dallas, TX
Some krogers are starting to limit how many coupons you can use on a product, like 2 or 3, has this been happening to anyone?
  • D
I bought 4 Post cereal today & had a "$3 off your next shopping trip" print. Bonus!
  • erica
Here is Cary, NC hamburger helper is not on sale for $.99 anymore. I was there this morning and it was around $1.50.
  • gillette mach3 razors are $.49 when you use $3/1 in the pg insert, $2/1 pg ecoupon along with the $4 pg promotion
  • Lyndsey - make sure that your correct address is registered with your Kroger Plus Card. That is how they mail them out.
  • Lyndsey
    Jenny,
You frequently mention various mailers with coupons (Kroger, Publix, Conagra, etc). How do I get signed up to get these mailers?
    Thanks!

Is the crest still part of the 10/10 this week. They were not labeled at my store but was on Sat. nite.
  • Sharon
What size pack is the Mentos $1 sale for?
  • kelli
My Kroger is Southwest Virginia has Bic Crystal Pens (10 packs) on sale for 50 cents. If you buy 2 and use one of the $1 off any 2 Bic stationary products printable at coupons.com, they're free! They have red, black and blue in my store.
