The Mystery Penny Item at Publix for Sunday & Monday, 8/16- 8/17, is:

You can get the Publix Penny item with any purchase that is $10 or more before coupons. There is a Mystery Penny Item coupon in the Publix Sunday Ad every week or somewhere in the Sunday Paper. Some stores do not require this coupon, but many have changed and do require it now, check with your store to find their policy.

**If your store has substituted something else but still has this item in stock you can ask to get the corporate decided item and most stores will let you**

OK, I find myself consumed with these little pieces of paper. I can't buy anything without a coupon. HUMM, I don't feel this is a bad thing, but it is really funny! I was actually JEALOUS of the lady in line behind me with this AWESOME binder of coupons. That was really cool to see.

There are no food lions in alabama so they will not take those coupons because they are not a competitor to that store. Hope that helps.

Rita, I spoke with the store manager at the Pkwy store and this applies to all Publix stores. They will only accept coupons from competitors that are "true" grocery store competitors. No more Drug stores, Food Lion, etc for anyone per manager :-(

Just a friendly reminder to my couponing friends in the Simpsonville area. The Publix on Fairview Rd is no longer taking any competitors coupons other than Bilo, Ingles, and Bloom. They had notes posted for about 2 weeks and were telling everyone who used competitor coupons of the change. I was told 3 different times. Just remember that when you are shopping. No more Food Lion or Target. Bummer.

I go to the Wade Hampton store every week and they always take the mystery item price off before they even finish ringing up my order.

thanks for all the great deals.. went to publix this ween and saved 52.95!!! then doubled back yesterday for more diapers and spent $14 ($22 savings) and got diapers, wipes, chicken, produce... wow! We have been able to cut our spending by almost 2/3rds!!!

At the PKWy, Pelham Rd and Wade Hampton Rd in Greenville area, you do NOT need the coupon. However, Wade Hampton will only give you the penny item w/ $10 AFTER coupons :-(
